We stopped in for lunch after shopping on 5th. This establishment is very open with wonderful decor. It is airy and feels elegant and comfortable. We had a fantastic meal and all dishes had a beautiful presentation. The beet salad with shrimp was delicious and full of color. The wedge salad had a creative presentation but more dressing was needed. The poke tuna was wonderful and had a nice balance of soy for added flavor. Service, food, ambiance, hospitality, all top notch . This brand new restaurant knows the definition of hospitality. Let's face it, the Phelan Family know how to run a restaurant. We visited Keewaydin's shortly after its grand opening. The staff was so seasoned you would have thought they were in business for years. The menu is somewhat limited, but offers some nice choices and something for everyone. Service was top notch, water glasses always full (a pet peeve of mine), ambiance was nice, both inside and outside tables offered. Between the four of us we had salmon, mahi mahi, Ahi Poki bowl, and some great wines. The makeover is bright and cheery but not cheesy. Good job! We will be back. read more

Location is great. Newer restaurant on 5th ave. Ambience was perfect for south Florida. Started with Caribbean Chowder and it was amazing, great flavor. Surprised that it was in a tomato based sauce. We ordered Blackened Grouper and Grilled Mahi. Grouper was amazing. Took a chance on the Puerto Rican rice. It was ok but wouldn't order it again. Had the Chocolate Mousse for desert which was also amazing. I would come back here in a minute. read more

The food is terrible and it was so so expensive overly expensive. There is not enough food options there.

So this place needs to close for a week or two and add some noise mitigation....acoustic tiles or fabric walls, etc. We were a table of four in the smaller front room and had to scream at each other to converse. Simply exhausting. The main room was even louder. We overheard other diners complaining as well. The food was another problem. The octopus was tough and chewy. The calamari was incredibly salty, the salmon was dry and over-cooked...as was the smashburger. We even tried the desserts. How a baker can make a rubbery cheesecake is beyond curious? I hope he/she keeps that recipe in a box in their garage. It wasn't even sweet ..more like a cross between gelatin and spongecake...flavorless. The highlight was our server...great personality and attentiveness. He noticed we dined and left without finishing anything we ordered. He looked like he felt bad. Definite growing pains here. Went on a Friday night during season and it was almost empty inside. All the other restaurants are packed. Anyhow, our server didn't notice us for quite awhile but she did a good job once she did. The food was ok, not that great for 5th ave pricing. I had the stuffed grouper which was not stuffed. The fish was overcooked. My wife had the crab cake which was good but overpriced. This was the #1 Yelp spot on 5th Ave, which disappointed. We had a 7pm reservation and the place was empty, so wasn't the best atmosphere for a Friday dinner out. The food was fine but the experience was terrible. After dinner, as I sat at the table with my 2 grown sons and my elderly parents, I let my 18 year old son have 1 sip of my wine. Immediately a worker came over, told us to show him my son's id. I said I let him have 1 sip of my wine, then he grabbed my 84 year old father's glass of wine and told us we weren't allowed our drinks. ?!?!?! This seemed way over the top?!?! Who would do that to a paying customer, much less an elderly man?? The whole time the waiter seems embarrassed about the other worker's extreme reaction to letting an 18 year old have a sip of his mom's wine. Our waiter kept repeating "There's no problem here, there's no problem here" to his co-worker who was still holding my father's wine. Finally he set the wine down and left us alone. I'm sure he was embarrassed about his over reaction to a sip of wine. If this is the worst problem this restaurant has, they should count their blessings. We paid the $500+ bill and left. Shame on them for making a huge deal out of a sip of wine to a grown adult. We will not be back. read more

Located in a prime spot on Fifth, we decided to try this restaurant on a rainy Tuesday lunchtime during the annual Sizzle event in Sept 2025. We ate on the outside terrace as it's covered so a lovely spot to sit outside & watch the world go by. The restaurant inside & out is beautiful. They've done a great job to give a beachy vibe to the space. Our server was a young friendly girl. We were a party of 4 & all ordered a light lunch as we had dinner booked for 7pm so didn't want to spoil that. Lunch consisted of Crab salads, fish tacos and clam chowder for me. The issues started with the time it took to receive our drinks order. We ordered wine and vodka tonics so pretty straightforward. The restaurant was almost empty with around 6-8 people sitting at the bar. We could see the bar through the window from the terrace so could see the level of activity. There was one bar server on. It took over 15 minutes to get our drink order which I think is way too long on a dead Tuesday lunchtime in an empty restaurant. I just think the bar server was not co-operating with our server & fixing her order. Why I don't know. We kind of got the feeling our server was maybe inexperienced? I asked could I get some bread to go with my soup & didn't mind the upcharge. I was told (politely) that they do not serve bread for lunch! I pointed out they had sandwiches & burgers on the menu - could I not have one of those bits of bread to dip in my soup? The server said they'd go & check. They came back said the kitchen had said no they can't do that! We negotiated back & forth a bit more (all this for a bit of bread!) & eventually I managed to snag a burger bun for a $2 upcharge. I have no issue with the upcharge - I just can't believe all the drama over a bit of bread. Overall the food was decent. The clam chowder was good and better than what I was served the next evening at Syren Oyster Bar. It was just a shame the snail pace of service and the drama over the bread marred out experience. read more

The starters were great, coch fritters and wedge but the beer list was minimal. Not even a local beer like turtle season. I had the mahi blackened and it was light in size and uneventful - Don't order it. My mother had the oyster poboy and it had 2 oysters and all bread and salad - terrible. We mentioned it to the waiter and nothing happened accept I think I see one. My wife liked her sea bass but she is an easy sell. Service - 1/10: our server "J.J" was cold, aloof, inattentive, and inhospitable. Fish on top of salad arrived incorrect (Salmon came on top of salad instead of Grouper) and replacement came completely raw, not to mention after all other meals were finished. J.J. (Server) was unapologetic or concerned. Ambiance 4/10 - restaurant is beautifully finished, but was completely dead during lunch. We all agreed that we should've waited the 30 mins to get into Tommy Bahama on 3rd St. Pass on this place! Another 5th Ave disappointment. I had a mini martini. It was the smallest pour I have seen in a while. The price was not small. The wines by the glass list is odd and over priced. The caeser salad we made up of whole greens and almost impossible to eat. The salmon was cooked to an inch of its life. The highlite was the pork tenderloin which was tasty. $190 for less than average experience. Another reason to avoid 5th Ave. Not an improvement to Yabba. read more

Orders were screwed up and beverage orders were forgotten. The food was not to our taste except for the conch ceviche. I will go back for that and sit at the bar. It was wonderful. Our waiter was the main reason for this low rating. We ordered 4 appetizers for the two of us. I specifically asked for the two cold appetizers to come as our first course and BEFORE the the two hot ones. They all came together. I ordered a glass of wine and had to have a manager bring it to me as our waiter was AWOL. The service was quick and friendly. The ambiance of the restaurant was a miss for us. The restaurant had a very touristy vibe and didn't feel very intimate or sexy or different. This place is nicely set up and the food is ok, but the service is HORRIBLE. I mean the most amateur service I have seen in a while which is especially off putting at such a nice place. It took us SO INCREDIBLY LONG to get anything! From water to food to the check...and it was not at all busy so there was really no excuse. My mom and I sat at the table for over 20 min without any attention from our server who in the end ended up messing up the order anyway and still charged us for every little thing. I've eaten at Keewaydin's three times since they opened, and have always had a good experience. Yesterday we decided to take advantage of the summer 2-course special and it was an excellent dinner. The baked oyster appetizer was a little spicy, a little creamy - a really nice balance of flavors and textures. The rum-glazed salmon served over creamed corn couscous was delicious, and my son enjoyed his crab-stuffed hog fish entree. Only open for about 1 month, but the service was outstanding. We had oysters on the half shell with pineapple mignonette that was very nice. HOLY AIOLI TEMPURA SHRIMP which was not tempura, more sautéed. Tasted nice, but not tempura. MACADAMIA CRUSTED SEA BASS was amazingly delicious. We had a phenomenal time outside on the patio as we were catching up with old friends. They were beyond impressed. Food and service were impeccable (pimento queso, waydin roll, daily east/west coast oyster selections plus the sea bass, and Thai noodles were big favorites). We've come before to the bar for happy hour and loved everything since our first visit back after Yabba (bar snacks: calamari, oysters... (again, I know), crab dip and aioli shrimp tempura), last two times we came we saw a bartender shaking cocktails effortlessly yet with so much passion, but he wasn't our bartender either time... I was begging to try one of his cocktails. Low and behold, our favorite bartender was also our server tonight. The BEST service we've had in a very long time.
