    CRAB BURGER
    Angela P.

My colleague and I may have stumbled upon a popular lunch spot. We were looking for a nicer lunch spot in midtown and this spot was recommended. So ofc we made a resy. And good thing we did! When we went all the tables (besides the bar ) were filled! Without the RSVP, we would not have been seated. This is a great spot for a client / team lunch. As you can see a lot of people are wearing suits/professional attire and the restaurant is nicely decorated. The restaurant offers a "prix fixed business lunch." You get. You get an appetizer, entree and dessert for $39.95/pp. We ordered: First Course: CRISPY CALAMARI (fried South American baby calamari with olive oil, thyme) SOLOMOS CRUDO (cucumber, fennel, avocado & citrus truffle) Second Course: CRAB BURGER (jumbo lump crab, chili aioli, tomato, lettuce, caramelized onions, fries) - first time having a crab burger Dessert Lemon Yogurt Tart Would visit again but I probably will try a different entree. The crab burger was different from what I imagined it to be.

We started with happy hour at the bar and then sat down for dinner. The whole experience was amazing. We are celebrating our anniversary and they took the time to congratulate us. The dip trio is the best way to try a variety. The crab cakes are delicious. The baklava was just right, not overly sweet.

After visiting the Summit yesterday with my girlfriends, we worked up quite an appetite and stumbled upon Kellari. Christy was craving Greek food, and according to Yelp it was the closest option. Honestly, I was surprised to see it only has 3.5 stars because it was a solid 5-star experience in our book. We grabbed seats at the bar, and from the moment we walked in, the warm, elegant atmosphere transported me straight to Europe. The service was welcoming, attentive, and never rushed, making the entire lunch feel like a little escape from the hustle of Midtown. You really can't beat the 3-course prix fixe business lunch for around $43 (yes, you read that correctly!). The portions were perfectly sized with it being filling without leaving you overly stuffed. For our first course, we each ordered something different so we could sample a little of everything. We tried the halloumi, crisp calamari, and zucchini keftedes, and every dish was a winner. The calamari was light and crispy, the halloumi was perfectly grilled, and the zucchini fritters were packed with flavor. Before our entrées arrived, we were treated to warm bread accompanied by olives, creamy hummus, and fresh radishes, a simple but thoughtful touch that made the meal feel even more authentic. For the second course, we ordered the Kavouri Burger (chef's kiss!) and the Kotopoulo. The crab cake was juicy and incredibly flavorful, while the chicken was tender, well-seasoned, and satisfying without feeling heavy. If you're watching your carbs this summer, the Kotopoulo is a great choice, or you can always ask for the burger wrapped in lettuce. We ended lunch on a sweet note with the Greek cookies and the Sokolato Kortnos. Both desserts were the perfect finish. The cookies were buttery and delicate, while the chocolate dessert was rich, decadent, and absolutely worth saving room for. Overall, Kellari completely exceeded our expectations. Between the beautiful ambiance, attentive service, generous prix fixe menu, and delicious food, it's a hidden gem I'd happily return to. If you're looking for an elevated lunch in Midtown that won't break the bank, this spot deserves a place on your list.

My wife and I came here for the pre-theatre meal and it was a decent restaurant overall. We enjoyed mastiha spritzes for our cocktails and we had the mediterranean kale salad and it was pretty flavorful. We both had the sea bass for our main (which is our go-to in any Greek restaurant) and it was good, though not the best sea bass we've had. We had the kormos skolata (chocolate salami) and the almond milk pudding and the kormos was definitely the better of the two. Service was good and it was a nice restaurant for a prix-fixe meal before a show.

Kellari Taverna is one of the best Greek restaurants in New York City. The food is consistently fresh and authentic, especially the seafood, which is always of exceptional quality. The service is professional, warm, and attentive without being intrusive. The atmosphere is elegant yet welcoming, making it perfect for both business dinners and special occasions. If you're looking for authentic Greek hospitality, outstanding cuisine, and an excellent wine selection, Kellari Taverna is a must-visit. I highly recommend it and will definitely be back!

I came here for dinner and we had the pre theater menu which was delicious. I ordered the tuna tartare for the appetizers, the lamb chops as the entree and dessert was Kormos Sokolata. This place is beautiful and the staff was great. So the tuna tartare was great well cut, fresh and flavorful. The lamb chops were great they were well cooked; flavorful and a generous portion; the lemon potatoes were also good. The dessert was ok; nothing memorable. This place is good and I would definitely return to try the happy hour.

I had a great time here for happy hour on a Tuesday after work. It was surprisingly large inside and very crowded! I think you should definitely make a reservation for dinner. We were lucky and there were two seats open at the bar for happy hour (I believe you can only have the happy hour menu if you're seated at the bar). It was pretty loud since there were so many people waiting to be seated (and the bar is next to the entrance). The happy hour menu was extensive and honestly not a bad price! I would recommend the grilled calamari and tuna tartare as well as the glass of Assyrtiko white wine.

I went for the first time to meet my former boss for lunch. I was surprised that on a Tuesday in August, the restaurant was packed. The server asked if we needed to leave at a certain time for work. Lovely restaurant. We sat inside. The host was friendly. Service was fabulous! Our server was very attentive! We ordered the lunch prix fix. Good deal! After every course was served, our server checked on us. Food was good. We ordered various fish dishes.

Another fabulous Kellari meal-- we ordered out during the busy lunch rush-- despite the entire restaurant bustling, our order was ready right on time. The food-- prepared perfectly, and everything just extremely fresh and as we always experience. The portion sizes are generous and shareable. The staff at the restaurant, kind and thoughtful, and the atmosphere tasteful and elegant. Very thankful to my friend who recommended this lovely restaurant to me.

Went here for lunch with sisters and mom before seeing a matinee. The atmosphere is perfect and service great. The food was delicious! Could not have asked for better. Cookie plate at end was terrific. I just got a Greek salad and soup of the day. Wonderful!

Came in for dinner and drinks before a show on a Saturday. A tad busy. The place is beautiful. Very refreshing and not dark. Server was nothing spectacular. Did her job. Nothing above or beyond in regard to friendliness from the minute we sat down. We ordered the trio of dips with tatziki, feta and an eggplant one. All were delicious and we received more pita when needed. We then ordered the halloumi cheese appetizer or small plate. It was fine. Shuka has them beat! We then ordered the muscles. From the instant they arrived we knew they were not fresh. I took one bite. Fine. Second bite was super fishy and didn't feel right in consistency. I spit it out. All three of us agreed they were suspect. Rule of thumb w seafood: when in doubt, spit it out! I alerted the waitress, she apologized and returned the dish. By that time we were pressed for time and didn't really fancy muscles again. I advised we would still tip her based on the full price of the intended meal but that we didn't need a replacement dish. She left the side of fries and those were very good. The manager came over, did what he should do in these cases, apologized. Told me it would be stricken from the tab and brought us a dessert on the house. We assured him we understood and encouraged him to taste one. We left feeling underwhelmed and hoped they just had an off night. I did tip fully (muscles included). I paid the bill and saw a pending reversed charge on my card app. Not sure what happened, but when I got my credit card statement- the full change had been put through. Disappointed. Won't return.

    The interior is beautiful inside

First thing you'll notice upon entry is how absolutely decorated it is. If you're a fan of Witcher, it's like walking into an an old-timey tavern. If you have no idea then-- it's like an old-timey tavern. I wouldn't be surprised of they had bard Fridays and homemade mead. It's also a big space. Reminds me of one of the last remnants of the bygone era that was the Obama-era glow. Like peak millenial where restaurants were starting to get viral but not to the point where they have to hyper compete with a gimmicky dish. The prices are a bit steep and was making me consider dropping my rating down a star but fuggit, I like their food. I played it safe and got the mixed grill meats but that's because I lack reading comprehension and thought the main dish (I don't know what it's called, it's just the 1st entree listed) was a baked meat pie situation, it was more grilled steak on a bed of mash potatoes but these mash potatoes were savory like gravy. I wish I got my friend's dish. The mixed grilled meats were a lot closer to doners or skewer meat. Different cuts but also different flavors. What they had in common was a sort of spice-forward sizzling taste. My friend got two appetizers (which I also don't know the name of) but were definitely the most beautifully presented foods I've had in a long while. They were both creams but one had a pepper in it (not the spicy kind). The pepper one was a light refreshing sourness and the other was a heavier but not heeeeavy savory one. Both great to dip your bread in. I wanted to try the lemon cookie for dessert but my friend got us all Tres Leches by accident. That was great but I would say the most non-novel out of everything we got. Delicious, just not something out of the norm-- which is what I go for when I'm trying a new cuisine like Albanian. I wouldn't say this is normal day-to-day Albanian (I have a few friends), it's more like the Americana equivalent, an upscale where Albanians go out to eat.

We also ordered the tuna Niçoise salad, which is by far the best I have had ever. One of my friends was accidentally served the wrong order and they immediately replaced it with the right one and made her meal completely complimentary, which was such a nice gesture and something we really appreciated. We were lead upstairs to a table. There were 7 of us The seating was cozy but not cramped. We started with 7 family style small dishes: Hummus with Falafel Pops (chickpea purée, tahini, falafel, olive oil), Spring Burrata (roasted cherry tomatoes, toast, basil oil), Hamachi Crudo (passionfruit vinaigrette, citrus zest, cucumber, mint, sesame tuile), Scallops (carrot puree, serrano pepper, brown butter sauce), Tenderloin Skewer (zaatar chimichurri, fresh herb salad), and Shiitake Stuffed Grape Leaves (tomato coulis, yogurt foam, herbs). Everything was delicious. The hummus was well seasoned the falafel had a nice crunch. It went well with the warm puffy gyro bread that came to the table. The burrata was wasm and creamy. I love the vinaigrette on the fish. I ended up eating most of it. The scallops were the sweetest, most tender ones I have ever had. The tenderloin skewers were tender and well seasoned. I liked the grape leaves but the rice consistency was very soft almost mushy and you can barely tell there were mushrooms. There was barely any mushrooms flavor. Next we all chose an entree. I got the duck breast, my husband and daughter each had the beef tenderloin. The duck breast was smaller than i expected. The skin was nicely seared and very crispy but boy did it give my jaw a workout. It was done medium rare. It was juicy but tough. The small beef tenderloin was tender and smoky. The waiter poured the sauce over the tenderloin for added flavor. Finally dessert was a fruit plate with ice cream and pudding. The fruit was fresh and the flavors of the ice cream and pudding unique. It was a nice end to a good brunch. The price was a little expensive at $85 a person.
