Kelley's is my new favorite neighborhood pub. It's really slim pickings to find a good bar in Eastie but this one is a solid locals bar. The hubs and I watched the Super Bowl there last night and it was great! Awesome pizza, cold beer, rowdy fans and affordable. They even did a raffle and had some giveaways. We have been doing the dinner special from time to time too. It's about $10 each for two people to get bread, salads and leftovers for days! My fav is the turkey dinner. read more

Yesterday was the second time I dined at Kelley Square Pub. I must say, each time the food was very good for a mom/pop place in the center of Peabody. However, yesterday I was so angry when I received our bill. My 9 year old daughter ordered the "Chicken, Broccoli and Ziti" (as there is no kids' menu). In the description of this dish it states in parenthesis (Alfredo sauce) for $13.95. When the bill came, I was charged $17.95. When I questioned the discrepency between the menu price and my bill Both the waitress and the manager stated there is an "Upcharge" for alfredo sauce. I double checked the menu and no where does it state there is an upcharge. Even more infuriating, the word alfredo is in the description of what she ordered. The waitress failed to inform us of the upcharge when the order was placed. Additionally, each meal comes with a salad. After the waitress left the table with our salad dressing orders, she over heard my 9 yr. daughter say she wishes she had ordered a caesar salad. The waitress (who was lovely) popped back in the room and offered to swap out a caesar for the garden salad. Again, at no time did she mention an up charge. Again, on the bill, there was a $4 upcharge for the caesar salad. People who know me, know that I'm not cheap and I will spend good money on food. My problem stands when you "sneak" upcharges onto your customer's bill and when questioned about it you say, "Well, the menu doesn't dsay there is an upcharge, but there is!" This is poor business practice. Frustratingly, I will not be back here to spend $22 on a dinner for my 9 year old. Watch your checks...this guy is sneaky! Although he told me as he was leaving that he has never lost a customer over his "upcharges," I will be spreading the word on every social media outlet to make people aware of Kelly Square Pub's poor customer service. **Also to note, yesterday both their paper menu and their online menu stated alfredo sauce. I went here for the first time last month while visitng some friends and had a good time! I had an entree that I would call the "mega meat" and was pretty satisfied, I think it had beef, pork, and maybe even lamb, as well as some sides. I was pretty pleased, but everyone else in out party of five seemed a little underwhelmed with their food. I like this place because this is the kind of restaurant my parents would have taken my brother and I to for a nice night out when I was a kid, sort of in the same vein as a TKO Malley's or something (south shore/southcoast people know what I mean). So I definitely get a good, nostalgc vibe in this place. Sports stuff on the walls, a menu of beer-friendly foods including pizza, and plenty of other entrees. I went here a while back with my boyfriend. We needed a quick lunch after a few hours of helping friends clean for a party down the road. The place is cute inside... for a pub. The food portions were out of control.. Huge! I had a pasta dish and a couple beers... The price wasn't bad either... Ordered a pepperoni pizza. Damn good! I've had better sure, but this was delivered quickly, free delivery too. I'd compare the taste to Papa Gino's, but if they were a mom n pop, not a chain. Good sauce and right amount of cheese and pepperoni (aka lots). Definitely will order again. read more

Today we ordered food for delivery, several sandwiches and 3 pizzas. First the food took over 90 minutes to be delivered and wasn't surprised it was cold. But the best part is when we opened the 2 paper bags to get our food out it REEKED of WEED so obviously the driver was smoking weed while driving around with our food. Kelley's is such a wonderful place! We moved into the area in Sept. and have been a bunch since. The staff is so wonderful and friendly. The food is awesome too! You really can't go wrong with anything. Their dough for the calzones is SOO good! And the steak tips in the calzone are awesome! Highly recommend for the food and the service. read more

I would like to start by saying I had food and drinks here 3 separate times. Living in East Boston I love to eat out, the food is great everywhere. I ordered a burger from here and my girl ordered a pizza. I'll get Straight to it..... my burger had a piece of metal in it the size of a nail. I chomp the metal almost broke my tooth. The manager comped the burger and 2 drinks hahah like really .... he told me it's from the brush they use to clean the grill. I DON'T CARE WHERE IT'S FROM ! IT WAS IN MY FOOD. NEVER GOING BACK. I've given this place three tries and it has been a disappointment every time. The service is so slow, and they seem to give you no time if you don't order alcohol. The first time I had the gnocchi and the sauce was thin and flavorless. The second time I had the pot pie and again it was flavorless and too thick. The third time we ordered a pizza, the Kelly's Deluxe, and the middle was so soggy that you couldn't pick up the pizza until you ate half the slice. The sauce was weak and they used canned mushrooms. Finally, to top it off, our server packed 4 large pieces we had leftover upside down on top of each other on a paper plate. Why didn't they put it in a pizza box? Cool old school Boston pub with great pizza. Nice chewy crust. The shrimp scampi pizza was spot on.

Great local spot for food and drinks. Traditional pub fare, with pizza, homemade soups, sandwiches and entrees. Kelly's has the worst service ever. I sat down when the waitress came over to take my drink order and I told her I was ready to order my food. If I lived in Boston, I would at this place every single Friday night. It is where the locals of Boston live and come together, almost like Cheers. We met the owner and his life long buddies. we sat at the bar and drank beer while listening to their stories of days gone by. It was awesome! we didn't plan on eating dinner there, but it didn't work for us to eat at Rino's so we ate clam chowder and pizza and cheese bread. Oh, my gosh, not a typical Boston dinner I don't imagine, but we had the best time. We laughed until our sides hurt and felt right at home at Kelley Square. We will go there again when we visit Boston in the future. The parking was a bit nightmarish, but that is not uncommon in Boston in the neighborhoods. What can I say about kelley the food is pretty okay I guess. There stake tips are pretty good and they have a pretty large selection of great dishes to pick from. The price is a little steep for East Boston I personally think but overall it's a pretty good place. A good friend of mind recommend this place to me. The service is also pretty good that I enjoy a lot the food came pretty quickly. Overall I was very happy and will definitely be going back. read more

I wasn't very pleased with my last order. I didn't eat in, I ordered take out. Took about 45 min (I was about 3 blocks away) no big deal I could wait. I ordered waffle fries and a steak and cheese. The loaded waffles fries were okay at best. Would have been better with sour cream. Not sure if they don't come that way or they just forgot it. But they were okay. My steak and cheese sub was gross. We got take out from here a few weeks ago and the pizza was great! Not to greasy with the perfect amount of cheese! The gnocchi was ok, and the meatballs could have been the better. The chicken tenders are clearly not homemade so I would definitely skip them and opt for something else. Terrible waitress Jennifer who forgot orders then had an attitude when we mentioned the forgotten food. She also told us after the fact that she can't split the check on separate orders because she didn't think to ask. I had to pay double the amount of my food because of this. Don't buy the good reviews. I have been there several times and each time I tried to give the place a chance. The food is not that great on any level. I ordered a Greek salad and they gave me a bowl of white lettuce with seven peppers! I asked the waitress if , "she was sure this was the Greek salad?" and she exclaimed, "what did you expect?". I was a bit shocked to say the least. And then the "Pizza" came. The pizza is about as conventional as you can get and on par with Domino's. The service is downright terrible. There is a older female bartender that works there that is downright rude. She insisted I pay for a drink that we never ordered and when I tried to explaining what happened she became more incensed. They claim to have the best pizza in East Boston but don't even come close Papp Gino'' never mind Santarpio's. It's a local place so, when you walk in everyone stares you up and down.
