If you're looking for a nail salon where you can watch clients verbally assault employees, verbally attack other customers, and apparently threaten people with a gun... come on down to Kelly's Nail Shop on Oakdale. Here's what happened to me: a client who has apparently been going there for 28 years was belligerently drunk, cussing at my nail tech. When my nail tech stepped away, this woman turned her attention to me and told me, "You're guilty by association, you Mexican ugly bitch." She then proceeded to threaten me and my nail tech with a gun. Shalonda, another employee, also decided to get involved and somehow I was the one in the wrong. Apparently, when my husband showed up to defend his 5-month-pregnant wife after a gun threat, that was an issue too. Two days later, the owner called my nail tech to apologize--but somehow I'm the one who is banned from the shop. Shalonda even felt the need to say she "doesn't give a [care] if that bitch is pregnant." So apparently being threatened is grounds for being banned, but threatening customers and verbally abusing employees is okay if you've been a client for 28 years? Interesting. If someone is threatening customers and employees with a firearm, maybe that person shouldn't be welcome at the place of business in the first place. Okay soo I'm usually not one to complain about my nails cause I'm easy going and as long as they look good I'm happy, but I was in fact not happy with this once I left the salon. I vibed really well with the lady that did my nails and let her do what she felt comfortable with since what I wanted was a bit tedious, but eeek. The color didn't even last a week and started peeling off. The nails were bumpy and not smooth and had air bubbles, not very clean or neat in appearance. I paid $60 for this set, which now that I think of it, why? The color is a glow in the dark, but doesn't always glow. This was my first experience at Kelly's nails, which was recommended to me to begin with. Clean salon and the ladies were nice, just unfortunate my nails weren't that great. Side note: I had somewhere to go directly after my appt so I didn't get a chance to actually check out my set till the next day and again I'm not one to complain nor did I want to go back and spend another hour of my day to get things fixed. I've been coming to see Kelly for a really long time. I have her do my acrylic nails. Lindsey does my daughter's nails and if Kelly is on vacation, then Lindsey will do my nails as well. Libdsey does a really good job as well and she's really good at nail art. I like to see Shalonda for my pedicures. Everybody is really nice and does a great job. I've never had any complaints and I have been coming here for a long time. Another good thing is that you don't have to make a far in advance appointment. They're very accommodating and fit you in. Customer Service - It was okay they were polite Work Ethic - I have never been to a place I hated more then this place - [ ] Let me just start with saying all I asked was for short acrylic nails with a French tip not some over the top nails - [ ] They did not offer a soak off to begin with and started to rip my nails off with a plastic nail - which resulted in one of my nails bleeding and breaking. - [ ] When they started to file my nails it seems that they were more interested in my skin then my actual nail I was left with raw skin that burned horribly. - [ ] When they started to apply the acrylic powder it was so clumpy and was missing acrylic in many places and look so messy and patchy, under my nails was so full of acrylic and you can see the glue all over my skin. - [ ] I asked the lady if they could add more acrylic in the missing places and file my actual nail for it not to look so clumpy. At this point I was about to ask for them to take them off they looked horrible but I needed them done. They proceeded to attempt to fix my nails - [ ] Did they accomplish there task not at all, they still looked so thick and they are all patchy you can tell where they didn't do it correctly, they left so much acrylic on my skin, and to top it all off they look like I've had them for a week because they didn't add them all the way back close to my cuticles. - [ ] I'd like to know where they got there certification for this salon it's is a horrible service all in all never coming back - [ ] I'm never cheating on my nail tech again read more

I had to ask her to redo my yellow because they were a Mac and cheese orange that was super spotty since she put white behind it. the flowers and the A look like a kid did them and there are many bulges on the sides. COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY. Went in for eyelash extensions. The eyelashes were stiff and crunchy. There was adhesive all over the lashes as well. Very poor quality. I was only in there for maybe 20 minutes that's how quick they are to get you in and out. I had them on for ONE DAY and they fell out. I called to get reimbursed for some of the $50 I spent and the owner Kelly was very rude and would not reimburse me anything even though I explained multiple times that they only stayed on for one day when I was told they'd last two weeks. If I could give this place no stars I would. The lack of professionalism and care for customer satisfaction is appalling and even more so embarrassing. If you're looking to get lashes done DO NOT GO HERE. Wasn't expecting amazing lashes w the price range but I pretty much paid $50 to wear fake eyelashes for one day. read more

I went here with my two sisters this afternoon. Granted we went on a busy day, and we all wanted manicured and pedicures, but they told us they had space. Our pedicures took nearly two hours. They went so slow, we ended up just skipping the manicures. Even though it took so long, the actual pedicures were messy and rushed. Most of the work is good. There is a nice atmosphere. It is also clean. I want to be fair here. The owner always try's to upsell you after you say no. She does very good work, but That is hard to deal with for me. Pricing is different for same service, usually within five dollars. Doesn't like credit cards. Everything is your fault. They are out of a lot of colors and put anything they have on you. And tell you it's your fault! I said I wanted acrylic she charged for gel I did not want ...Ive literally never been charged the same thing twice. Today , I've had enough. To be treated like this is unacceptable. Halfway through my full set appointment, Kelly pushes me off to another lady to finish it and proceeds to do another (walk in) client's nails. I will not be going back. Kelly is always late for our appointment times and nine out of ten times she acts like no one told her I had an appointment. No surprise when the man on the phone did not ask for my name when booking my time slot. I went to Kelly originally because I heard good things and I knew she was talented. She really is good at what she does, but because of the way this shop is managed, I will never go back. Here's what happened on my first visit... I made an appointment with a man on the phone yesterday for a pink and white full set and pedicure with Kelly. When I came in today, it seemed like no one relayed this message to her. Set was 10 minutes late but at least it was well worth it. After I washed the acrylic dust off my hands someone else was in the chair I was sitting in and her service was already started. I asked Kelly if I had made the appointment for her to do my pedicure as well and she informed me that she does not do pedicures. Normally Kelly does my eyebrows and she does a great job but for some reason another woman did them today and this is the result...I normally have an arch in both my brows and she practically waxed it off, she left both of them short tail wise but as you can see in the photo the one on the left is shorter. She was also rough when waxing them and I had wax in my hair when I got home (you can probably see a snip it of it in my hair in the far left of my forehead)... overall NOT OK. If you get your eyebrows waxed and it's not Kelly, don't let them touch your eyebrows. read more
