Kelly and his team are top notch! Wow! I searched for a long time trying to find a tree removal service. Their prices were the best and they were extremely professional. They were on time for all appointments, free estimates, and came very prepared. We had them remove 2 trees for us, one which was growing into a fence and one that had roots going into some underground pipes. Both trees were difficult jobs and Kelly's team was extremely proficient. The first tree they removed they trimmed without having the fence removed (which others required, it would have cost us money to remove it and to put it back afterwards). They trimmed it as close as possible and I am still amazed and how well they did! The second tree was a beast and they were able to remove the stump without damaging the below pipes. Kelly explained the work clearly. I was concerned about the stump being near the front door and water main to the house. He guaranteed he would repair the water main if broken and the Yucca plant would not come back. The workers showed up on time and cleaned up after themselves very well. These guys were good with everything. Fast and good communications were key on the front end. They also had availability to do the work nearly immediately even though my job was personally a low priority. The price was also reasonable. On the morning of the job, they showed up exactly on time, got to work quickly grinding a very very large yucca stump, and finished in short order. We had Kelly remove some trees and grind stumps that were difficult to get to. Very fast, quality service. Excellent clean-up.

Kelly quoted me $350 to grind three fairly closely located birch stumps. His crew came out when I was not home and did the job. I then received a bill for $425 which I paid. I am now trying to plant a tree in that location and as I dig I am finding that the stumps were ground down only about 4" and then basically covered with top soil and mulch. Unfortunately the check is already cashed. If you use him (don't) get your quote in writing and make sure he committs on paper how deep he will grind and if any roots nearby also need to be ground down. read more

Kelly's team can grind stumps that other tree service companies can't. We had huge redwood stumps in a tight spot near pavers and other trees just a few inches from the house. It was an almost surgical stump extraction. Some stumps were only reachable by long flights of paver steps. Tomas used different grinders for different tasks and didn't break anything. We used him a while back to remove a number of smail to medium size stumps. Kelly is an interesting guy. He leans toward the 'wild and hyper' side, so this worried me at first. He's a little difficult to deal with, and his staff had some trouble being on the same page with the boss at times, which made scheduling the work more challenging than it should have been. Nevertheless, the results were about as good as I could have expected, so you should be in good hands. read more

I had removed an old hedge and had to remove the stumps to plant roses. His prices are lower. He came when he said and removed the stumps. He mulched the stumps and left quite a few pieces up to a foot long. My gardener had to clean up after him. I would have preferred that he haul the stumps away. He missed a small stump which has since started sprouting. I would use him again but give more specific instructions and make sure to carefully check his work before paying him. read more

Had a chinese elm tree removed by this company. My beef with them is with their communication and price quotes. I never met Kelly. Previous reviewers stated he came by and met with them but Kelly came and went without ever ringing the door bell and checking to see if we were home. I had some questions regarding grinding the root deeper than the usual depth. There was a discrepancy between the office person and Kelly when it came to quoting the extra price. Kelly's was much higher than the office and what my landscape designer thought it should be. The crew that showed up to do the removal was not Kelly's Stump Removal but trucks with totally different company name painted on it. I was told by Kelly that the tree removal would happen first and then the stump grinding would occur the next day. I did not have the time to talk to the crew about the stump when they arrived but I thought I would do it the next day when they came for the root. However, they did the whole job and never told me they were done. I must say the whole thing happened very fast and made my head spin. There is no fall out from the job and it did not impact my landscaping project. I just wish they slowed down to listen to me and made me feel assured before, during and after the work. read more

Hired Kelly's after reading reviews. Over the course of two weeks I dealt with 4 different people. I never spoke directly to Kelly until the work was completed and discovered a broken sprinkler head and pipe that was broken in several spots on Saturday 4 days after the work was completed. Unfortunately I did not discover this until I had planted some new plants and could not figure out why they drowned...simple. The pipe was pouring water in huge amounts onto the newly planted items. I took photos and contacted the service and after dealing with 2 people Kelly called back stating that I should have seen the broken items! I saw only a sprinkler head but questioned why he had not called to tell me. He stated because he left a note for the office to call me. I feel he should have done that himself since obviously no one from his office did. I never would have planted the plants had I know I would be drowning them. I also have since read other reviews where he came back and replaced what was broken. Not even an offer...Just a reduction of 25 dollars off a large bill. The time it took to repair and the plants lost and equipment was worth a lot more than a 25 dollar reduction. read more

Fast service. I called them yesterday afternoon, they showed up today early morning, gave me an estimate and took care of the stump. They charged me $100 for a one foot diameter stump. This sounded reasonable to me, but I am not sure since I did not get other estimates. Overall I am happy with their work and would use their services again. read more

Reasonable price, prompt & friendly, excellent work. We had Kelly remove 3 shrubs that had overgrown into mini-trees, plus a palm tree that had sprouted up years ago on its own and was getting too big for the space. He also removed the stumps of all of these. The palm was in a tricky place, surrounded by other plants that we wanted to keep. There were also drip lines and low-voltage electrical lines (for landscape lighting) running through the area where all the work was done. Prompt service -- owner stopped by to do the estimate the day I called, and the worker came later that afternoon. I had 4 stumps ranging from 6-12 " wide. Job took less than an hour. I wish I'd gotten estimate in writing and/or asked the owner how the worker would calculate the final cost of your job. It seems to be a combination of the time and size of the stumps. Mine cost more than I thought it should, given how quickly it was finished. The worker wasn't fluent enough to explain the price. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Kelly's Stump Removal. I was in the midst of a crazy remodel, and needed to get some stumps ground. I called Friday morning. Kelly himself come to give me an estimate before 11, and they had an open slot that afternoon. For a *very* reasonable price, they ground 8 stumps, removed a small-ish tree, and had the work done that afternoon. It took a few hours, but they had to deal with scaffolding, and stumps in the backyard. Easy, easy, easy. Affordable, timely, and completely professional and responsible. I also used them several years ago to grind a large stump in the front, and they did a great job, even working carefully around underground pipes.
