Before giving a price he explained everything to me, how he would cut the tree, how he would get rid of the debris. Then he gave the price and it made sense to me. I agreed and he came the next morning with a truck and shredder. I was only cutting one tree but it was tall. They did it in maybe 45 minutes. Sabino is, in a word, amazing. I called him yesterday morning about a bottlebrush tree that had split in my backyard that was dangerously close to pulling down a cable line. If anyone knows bottlebrush trees they know what a tangled mess they can be (not to mention the dust and heaven-knows-what material has rested high above in the canopy of leaves and branches). Sabino came out within an hour, assessed the issue, gave straightforward and accurate information on what was needed, and came back in an hour with another amazing person to cut down the concerning branches. I have used this company quite a few times over the years. Use the phone, not the website--as you could expect, the team is out in the field most of the day and that is the most reliable way to contact them. They have removed some tricky trees with no problems, and gave some good advice about trees I thought needed service but he advised me to wait. He was right--one was frost damage that grew back and one tree was too stressed to trim. It ended up dying later anyway from beetles, and I saved money from not trimming it then. read more

In 2008 I first contracted Mr. Torres to trim several very tall trees in my backyard. To date October 2013 is the 3rd time I have contracted Mr. Torres. This was an especially difficult job because of the confined space of cutting a scrub that had grown at least 50 feet high, 30 feet across & basically was a tree. Mr. Torres showed up with a professional & courteous team of 4 men (including himself.) He not only quickly cut the scrub down but took out the stump & immaculately cleaned the work area. And on top of this he gave me a terrific quote.It never occurs to me to get other quotes because I know Mr. Torres will do an excellent job at a terrific price. I called for free wood chips/mulch to use for my home's landscaping, so how can I complain, right? Well, first off, I had to call numerous times. Not like I didn't get a hold of anybody, but even when they scheduled deliveries, they didn't show...nor did they call to tell me they weren't coming. This was extremely displeasing as I took time off work on two separate occasions to wait for them. Next, when the wood chips finally did get delivered, they were full of leaves, pines, and limes. Yes, limes. A lot of limes. So, the quality wasn't great, but they were free so what can I really say. On top of which, I was able to get a bit of decent stuff out of the pile which will only improve after the pines and leaves dry up and bio degrade. I guess, when all is send and done, I would have given them three stars if they would have held to the first scheduled appointment. Final caveat, this review in no way reflects how they operate any other part of their tree service business (aka, their actual money making business). Did a great job with removing a disease apple tree in my yard along with a stump. Amazing how they manage to get a huge equipment/machine into my small yard and not ruin my deck. very prompt in responding to message and on time with appointment for a written estimate, reasonable and you can try to negotiate. I really do think this is as good as it gets. Mr. Torres was easy to contact, it was easy to schedule a free estimate, and it was easy to schedule the work. I had 2 large Eucalyptus trees trimmed. Most of the smaller tree was slanting up over my roof. Neither tree has had the required care for 15+ years. The trees turned out beautiful. Most of the smaller one had to be trimmed so it is obvious it was trimmed, but the larger one looks so natural that you have to really examine it to see that it was trimmed. All of the branches were thinned out and some of the ends were trimmed to give the tree a more natural shape, to lighten them so they are less likely to break off, and to thin them so the wind can pass through more easily. Did I mention how beautiful these trees now are? I seriously considered having them removed instead of trimmed, and I'm so glad I didn't. They are now the most beautiful trees around the area. I also had a lemon/orange tree reshaped, and another non-descript tree in the backyard thinned and trimmed. They both turned out just as nice. I highly recommend Mountain View Tree Service. These guys did a very professional job, they were always careful with the safety ropes, they cleaned up even more mess than they created -- they treated the whole property with the care and respect you want to have from this type of service.
