We call Kelly's "old-faithful" as we find ourselves coming back for the convenience, reliability, and hours of operation. They made some enhancements to the bathroom and dining areas, which really helped the overall vibe. The bar is large and has plenty of TVs all around the establishment, usually playing all the major sporting events you would like to see. They also have specials when games are going on and later in the evening. Food quality is solid for what you are getting, although the prices are on the high side. I would say that is one of the downfalls, but you also get what you pay for when other establishments are closed. It's hard to complain about that when you can relax while having a few cold ones, solid food, and entertainment on the screens, along with pool tables (and darts I believe) to keep you active. Once again, why we call Kelly's..."old-faithful". A solid place worth visiting, and I'm glad to have it for a "locals" spot very close to our neighborhood. read more

Kelly's Tavern is one of the few places in the area that stays open pretty late so when I'm craving some late night eats, Kelly's is my go-to. When you walk in, you can choose to sit at the bar, in booths near the bar or in the dining area so we chose to sit in the dining area since the bar can get pretty loud. The server came over to us right away to take our drinks. Their Pickle Fries are amazing so I immediately put in an order of those. I also decided on the Honey Habanero Burger as well since I was craving a good burger. The Pickle Fries were served piping hot and were very delicious. It didn't take long for the burger to arrive as well and it was cooked 'medium well' just like I ordered it! The burger was amazing but it wasn't spicy at all. When I think of a habanero burger, I think the spiciness would be prominent but the flavors were still great nonetheless. Overall, Kelly's has great food and drinks and the staff is always super nice! This restaurant always has a fun vibe, you can't go wrong dining here. read more

This Kelly's Tavern is located in the Strawbridge Shopping Center near the corner of London Bridge Rd. and General Booth Blvd. Inside the shopping center, it is located next to the Regal Cinemas movie theatre. My visit here was on September 11, 2021. With this place being right next to the movie theatre, parking can be hit or miss depending on the time you come to the area. In this case, parking was not an issue at that time. I had heard some good things about the place, so that's why it was decided to give this place a try. This will likely be my only visit unless things change in the future. When coming in, the place was pretty much empty. The guy from the bar saw us come in and told us we could sit wherever we wanted to. He came over with the menus and asked us what we wanted to drink while looking over the menu. To start with, my mom and I did go with the Bavarian Pretzel appetizer. A few minutes later we were ready to order. I ended up going with the Grande Nachos since they were on special that day. My mom went with the Loaded Baked Potato Soup (bowl). During this time, we had the Bavarian Pretzel, which was really good with the beer cheese sauce. After roughly five to ten minutes, our orders came to the table. On the surface, everything looked really good. That would change after starting to eat. For the Grande Nachos, everything was soggy, even the chips. The toppings that were on it too didn't taste fresh either and tasted more like they came from cans. Now, onto the baked potato soup. My mom said the soup was bland and probably one of the worst baked potato soups she has had. It didn't even include all of the stuff that was supposed to be on it as well, such as bacon, scallions and cheese. There was some cheese in it, but it was just a little bit of shredded cheese on top. We never got a chance to address the issues as the server didn't come back until we were ready to get out of there. He pretty much remained behind the bar with the few patrons there at the bar. Overall, this was not a really good experience, and would not be in a rush to come back. The food didn't seem fresh except for the Bavarian Pretzel and the beer cheese dip that came with it. The Bavarian Pretzel is what saved it from getting a 1 star rating. Service was lackluster at best. There are plenty of other locations in the area that you can go to if you're looking for bar food. I would check out those alternative places instead. read more

Ok, so maybe it's a 3.5 for me. First time coming to this location and from what I gather it used to be smoker friendly and now it's not... Cool. Came in to kill some time before our movie and the young lady at the host stand even opened the door for us when she saw us walking up. Awesome. She said we can pick wherever we wanted to sit so we chose the first booth by the door. Our waitress was okay. She wasnt too confident in her answers when we asked questions but she came thru each time. I really, really enjoyed the fish and chips. I would def come back for those. Three huge pieces of fish perfectly battered and crispy, piping hot with each bite on top of battered fries, which actually the waitress suggested / recommended so kudos to her for that!! Fiance's (3) fish tacos he said were delicious and he killed those in no time! Seems like a fun place to come during the evening for drinks, apps, and music so I'm inclined to return. It's aiiiiight. You know the deal when you walk in, basic bar type food. I've had an amazing Pastrami and Swiss sammy with a Jalapeño Chili. I've also had a mediocre French Dip. The happy hour sports some decent prices. Girly said the Chicken Salad Wrap was no bueno, but we inhaled the fries like a couple of Hoover Vacuums. Came here for a quick lunch, had my fiance show up early so he could order us food. He sat at the bar, the bartender passed him multiple time before asking "are you gonna get something?" He ordered wings and a side salad for appetizer, and 2 burgers. I got there about 15-20 minutes after he ordered, nothing had been out. There was maybe a total of 6 people in the place. Asked for a sweet tea, he took another 5 minutes to get it. After finishing the tea, he came to give us the salad. 30 minutes to get a side salad, still no wings. By then I would expect to be finishing the wings and getting the burger. We asked when the food would be getting out, he said "I can ask the kitchen to hurry". Like, we're they just taking there time? We declined, and asked for the check, he was rude, and started to say the food was almost ready, but by now I just wanted to salvage what I had left of my lunch break. He then said he would have to charge us for the food we never got or ate. I left him $5 for the sweet tea, which had sugar crystals on the bottom. Not coming back. So, this was a mid-day, mid-week late lunch. Not much going on at the time, which is to be expected. The bartender, Nick, was welcoming and friendly, if a little quiet. Being where it is there were some local military types hanging out. The beer selection was the standard fair, five or six taps split between mass-produced domestic swill and mass-produced "micros", which is to be expected for a strip-mall 'tavern' next to a movie theater. The menu was under-exciting, might as well have gone to Applebee's for the standard-fare "American" food. Nothing really caught my eye. I ended up with a burger and fries. Fries were strange, either overcooked or over-heat lamped: crunchy in the worst possible way, more hard than crunch. The burger was fairly good. It satisfied my need for sustenance, but didn't wow me at all. Overall I was fairly disappointed and wouldn't recommend this place, though I did hear they have good nachos. I didn't try them myself but did see a heap of chips and cheese come out to another customer and they did look tasty. I wish I'd gotten them instead. read more

Went here Friday night for son's birthday dinner (his choice). There were 5 in our party. The restaurant wasn't too busy, was seated right away. Our server was very attentive. The food was great. I had a buffalo chicken sandwich, it was really great. Everyone else enjoyed their dishes as well. This is our go-to spot before we hit the movies next door. Its nothing fancy but if you are in the mood for a drink or two before the next showing along with some excellent wings and burgers, this is the place. The two things I like the most are the heart attack burger (my name for it) that has bacon, cheese and a runny fried egg on top. Gooey goodness by the bucketful. The bartenders here also make excellent dirty martinis, which you need with these burgers. The liquor dilutes the burger gunk and the saltiness helps to keep your blood pressure up. That way you can prep your body to push all that fat and cholesterol through your circulatory system before it settles in as looming arteriosclerosis. read more

They are charging Manhattan prices in Strawbridge?!? I shouldn't have to take a second mortgage out on my home to enjoy a few drinks with friends. I have many friends that have already stopped going to Kelly's because they can't afford anymore. They're happy hour is a joke. No real price break and no real food on specials. You can go around the corner to Lucky's and get 60cent wings and oysters every happy hour. Right next door Chichos has great happy hour prices- But Kelly's, you need to take a loan out to pay their happy hour prices with only a couple food options like chicken bites. Now they have a few more options- but they start at 10bucks- how is that a happy hour special? If you value your hard earned money- do like me and a bunch of my friends have already done- stop going to Kelly's. If they lowered their prices- we'd come back. I've been coming here for over a decade and I'm not one to do this. The employees are amazing and I have ABSOLUTELY nothing against them. What I am commenting on is the ridiculous increase in prices. Out of no where happy hour drinks have now increased to $3.25 and even a PBR is almost $3. This is FAR more expensive than the competition regarding drinks (and let's be real, there are many places that have much better menu options). While trying to update the menu, they need to take on the expense themselves and stop putting it onto the customers. We are a loyal bunch, but this is getting to the point that as much as I love the people I'm going to go elsewhere based upon price alone. Believe me when I say I am not alone. It's like pulling teeth to get my friends to stay here for more than a drink now because we can just walk next door and get double for the same price. I am speaking on behalf of many as I am one that drinks more high priced drinks to begin with, but in reviewing others tabs today there were MANY upset and disappointed regulars. Watch the game? Have a few cold ones and hang with your friends? This is the place. Got my cobb salad without any cheese and topped with perfectly seared rare tuna...great salad. The three of us arrived a little before midnight, looking for a snack after many hours of (non-alcoholic) dancing by the beach. The idea was that this would be slightly superior to an IHOP. Ooops, bad plan! The waitress didn't seem to have any other tables to attend to in the entire restaurant, but she was entirely busied, as best we could figure, flirting with some guy in the bar. It took a while to get her to come bring menus. The food came out on time. But then we NEVER saw her again and were unable to get anyone to help us. We had no drinks, and one of the food orders was entirely 100% wrong and needed to be replaced. No check back. Ever. Half hour later she brings us our check. The kitchen is now closing. A third of our party has gone starving. We are not pleased. Another 20 minutes to bring us our change. She has shorted each of us by at least a dollar. Manager? I'd be surprised if there was one. My Carolina BBQ sandwich tasted okay, for what it was. This is a chain restaurant that I've been tempted to try a number of times. Now I know better, and we'll never visit one again. read more
