I started writing this post while I was dining at Kelsey's during my trip to Atlantic City and towards the end it took a turn for the worst.... I had to change my 5 status to 3 for their managerial skills and customer service Wow what a hidden gem. 5 stars for the food!! Kelsey is worth the wait because the food is delicious!! I started with the mango Long Island Iced Tea, I only needed one, the alcohol was just right. The food tasted like being at home during the holiday. I ordered the Short Ribs of Beef, fall off the bone tender. My husband had the fry chicken which was fresh fried and delicious. The sides were good, we had the Mac and cheese, candied sweets, potato salad & rice w/gravy(a must try is the rice and gravy, no pork collarded greens). Hats off to the kitchen!! Live music was awesome Tia from Philly was phenomenal performance bringing back the 90's flow with Mary J Blige, Anita Baker, SWV Con So after waiting outside for 40 minutes, we were seated at a high table top at the bar instead of a table that were available but not cleaned. Cleaning tables should be a priority when you have guest standing outside. We were greeted by our Waitress Freida who was pleasant and efficient. What went wrong was while enjoying Tia's performance the manager(older lady who walked around reciting the rules) we were told there was a table time limit and we needed to finish our drinks and depart. Here's the problem we enjoyed our meal but for some reason there were 4 empty tables available around us that needed to be cleaned, but we're being told there's a time limit...really. There were other patrons who were there longer than us that were not told of the time limit. Kelsey's need to manage how their table assignments system and customer service. There is no reason why tables are not being cleaned for 30 minutes and there are 25-30 people waiting outside to dine at this establishment. read more

On a Saturday morning we arrived five minutes before open. One person was already in line and others were quickly getting in line behind us. We were there for brunch. They didn't bring you indoors until they were ready to seat you. You paid for the all you can eat and was seated. The acholic beverages you paid for directly thru the waiter. It was a pretty average setting. There was someone coming around taking photos. Of course they print and try to sell them to you for $20.00. I had coffee and water first. Followed by a little of everything. Lol waffles,fried whiting, fried chicken, steak and peppers, chicken and peppers, hash browns, macaroni and cheese, omelette, honey biscuit, rice and shrimp and french toast. There is no reason you should be leaving this place hungry. For an extra cost of $25.20 I did order the mimosa flight. It was ok. Not so sure I would order it again but, it wasn't bad. read more

Wanted to try this restaurant out while I was in Atlantic City for Memorial day . The music was told loud and smokey and no AC at all . Was very hot for 46.00 for brunch and no AC very disappointed and I left can't enjoy my self in the Heat and noise .. no one had an answer why NO AC ! read more

I have suggested and frequent Kelseys several times throughout the years. Last night the worst experience I had and the unfortunately the worst part is that I invited my brother and his girlfriend there due to good past experiences. Let me say that our server was very pleasant and accommadating. However, some of the food was not edible. The salmon was dry, the catfish mushy and absolutely had no flavor to it and it was suppose to be spicy. The mac and not good and sweet potatoes so sweet they taste like syrup. Our server sent the manager to the table who was a woman with pink a hajib on I just mentioned that in case they had more than one manager and she was rude and dismissive. When I voiced my issue about the food, she said "Oh" , and literally walked away. Another diner asked our table had we read the rules of the restaurant and we said no, and then she pulled them up and gave them to us to read, while she too shook her head and wasnt happy with the food that she had been served. After reading this I will never return back to Kelseys as I will not patron a restaurant who feels that they can serve crappy food and make no efforts to to extend an apology or try to rectify the situation. I have never went to a resaturant like that. The bill for 4 of us was $250 at Kelseys (lol) and two of the entrees were not eaten and after leaving we had to go grab a quick burger because we were hungry, make it make sense. By the way we did tip the server very well as I said he provided good service, you were extremely pleasant young man and Im sorry that I forgot your name but thank you. Manager- horrible, food-salmon overcooked and extremely dry, not seasoned, Catfish-undercooked, inside mushy and absolutely NO seasoning whatsoever, hot sauce didnt even help that fish chile !!. Liquid sweet potatoes and mac and cheese just not tasty. My brother did say the cabbage and greens were good. The cornbread was good and drinks were good. I can't say enough about this restaurant the food is excellent! My fiancée and I had the fried fish Mac and cheese and collard greens we also had the fried jumbo shrimp added on, it was delicious. Went on 2/15/25 w. Reservation and they didn't have most of what was on the menu. I requested Snapper, spouse requested Shrimp Chicken pasta and I ordered chicken wings as appetizer $16 and they bought out 8 flats and said that the appetizer they don't give wings we all know the difference and if I knew I was going to get 8 flats for $16 I would of not ordered. My son asked for sweet tea they bought it out and when he asked for a refill 1/2 hr later they didn't have anymore and said they don't know where that came from ummm not a good feeling. I was really excited to experience this restaurant. I made reservations for Wednesday evening 2/12 @8pm. Upon arrival, the restaurant was completely closed. I received a message the day before to confirm the reservation and to get prepared for a dining experience and the restaurant be closed without notice is completely distasteful, unprofessional and unacceptable. But what should you expect from Black Owned Businesses these days?! Not to mention, I traveled from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I understand that circumstances arise and things happen but it should be common courtesy to inform parties of these issues so that they can plan accordingly. Went to Kelsey's for my mother-in-laws birthday on Saturday, August 3rd... the waiter was fantastic and attentive but the food on the other hand was just ok. My husband got the crab cakes, cabbage and yams, he didn't eat it all so he got a to go tin... the cabbage was OVERCOOKED, the yams were thrown in the side dish juice dripping down the side just not a good presentation and not noticing until the next day that the crab cake was not done.
