I love this pub; it has a great casual vibe with very friendly staff and of course a great menu. Their drinks menu includes great choices of cocktails, beer and wine. Their Smoked Apple Maple Old fashioned is must-try. I also loved Passion+Sage Margarita and I loved it. Their food menu includes a lot of shareable options, late night snacks, handhelds and bowls. Went in for lunch last week. Empty except for one table. Service was great. We ordered the Mediterranean dips to start. Hummus, spicy feta and tzatziki. Feta and tzatziki were great. Hummus was so dry I couldn't eat it. My daughter ordered the chicken pita. Should have been called a feta pita with a bit of chicken. Crazy the amount of feta in that sandwich. So I ordered the chicken lettuce wrap. When I read the menu, I just saw chicken lettuce wrap and thought, ok, I can do healthy today. I probably should have read the menu a little slower cause that was probably the least healthy thing on the menu. Who serves deep fried chicken, slathered in a sweet sauce on lettuce? Went here for drinks with friends on a Saturday night at 9pm. I was surprised how busy it was. Only had to wait a few minutes for a table after standing at the bar. Had the peppermint espresso martini and it was quite good! The only issue I had was the DJ for the night started playing music at like 10pm and it was nothing good - no notable songs for most of the night, and the DJ wouldn't take requests either. We have been trying out local pubs lately. Here we are on a Sunday night. It isn't too busy and there are a couple of tables with families and kids. We order a Caesar and sofa water to start. Nursed a perfectly made Caesar for a long time. The food took a long time to come, it was hot and fresh when it finally arrived. Fish and chips and Greek salad with shrimp. Came here on Wing Wednesday with the boys and had the honey garlic/Cajun mix wings. This was actually a really good combo, I was impressed to say the least! The wings are pretty big, and you get 7-9 per lb. I order the celery/carrots instead of fries and they were... celery and carrots lol not much to review. I had a great time - the server was very polite, and brought lemons with our waters. In total, I paid $10.02 for a lb of wings, with a 20% tip. The King's Arms had the potential to be a nice experience, but a couple things ruined it from me. I went last summer. A warm night with some good friends. It's shaping up to be a good night already. So we get there, the outside seating area is great, and we want to sit out there. For some reason this small bar has 3 security guards working. I guess the owner likes burning money, but who knows. So they check my ID, but they're acting awfully strange. They start making odd comments (which are sort of personal). It weirded me out to begin with. We get seated and begin to drink. Over the course of an hour I've had two rye and gingers. I order a third and the waitress tells me I'm going too quickly. It's the only time I've ever heard that. So one of the security dudes come over and sit with us, and start asking more weird questions, and warn me about causing trouble. At this point I'm mind blown, I'm drinking 1 ever half hour... I sort of just wanted to leave. We had one more and all left. We linked arms and skipped down the street and that was probably the highlight of the experience... Sorry for going off on a tangent, but that was a seriously terrible service experience. It overshadowed anything positive I have to say about the place. It's probably best to avoid if you're in your low 20s, they clearly profile their patrons. read more

So if I leave to use the washroom, I have to wait to get back to the patio since there is now not enough room for me out there. That is BS, and you can understand how that would cause confusion. What is this place, I don't even It looks like a nice pub, or should I say IS a pub. But for what ever reason on Friday and Saturday nights they have a DJ who blasts music so loud that you feel like you're in a night club. This cringe worthy spectacle turns a nice conversation at your wooden seats into a screaming match. The only good part of the Kings Arms is in the summer, when you can go onto the patio and rest your ears for a few minutes. I still like the deep fried Mac n cheese pops, but I miss the curry ketchup they used to serve with it. The cost of food here is around $10-15 for a dish and they're reasonably sized. It definitely has the feel of an English pub, and it's generally got a nice vibe. The patio is in the middle of the courtyard and has plenty of seating. The service here is usually friendly and courteous. This place is a good pub and it has its merits, sometimes you get unlucky with some of the rowdy kids that visit, but it's not a regular occurrence. Had the Blue Cheese Burger and Louisiana Wrap with Sweet Potato Fries. The burger was really good: charred thick patty with yummy blue cheese made this super juicy. It was dripping from each bite. The Sweet Potato Fries were by far the best sweet fries i have ever had! Super crispy and just the right thickness. They went perfect with the spicy mayo provided! Yum. The wrap wasn't as good as i remember from last time. I think they made it less crispy than before. It was still really yummy don't get me wrong. Oh The Arms! I may be a little biased as it as been "the hangout" for us for many years now since we all grew up within walking distance. It's a pub in every way. Looks very similar to a true English pub. It's small, so get their early on weekends to get a table. Same goes for the pool tables. There's only two, so claim your spot early. They have a good selection of beer on tap and the staff is friendly. I've only had appitizers there and they're nothing out of this world, but yummy. It's your usual pub fare. It can be very noisy. Don't go there if you're looking to have a intimate conversation. For hockey playoffs they set up a huge screen in the middle. I'm sure the cheering can be heard down the street. The bathrooms are downstairs - be careful after a few drinks. They have a great little outdoor patio in the summer. It's hidden away from the main road which is nice. Again, get there early on weekends. Lots of parking in the city lot behind. Don't leave your car over night if you don't have to, you will get a ticket. Overall, there is nothing out of the world abut this place, but if you're from the area you love it because you've spent many evening there catching up with friends and see a friendly face every time you go in. read more

I've been going to King's Arms for a few years now. I don't go for night life as much as for a pub night which includes their Knotting Hill Currie, couple pints of Guinness and watch a game on the TV. The customers come from all walks of life and range in ages. It has a great local feel. The decor has recently been updated slightly but it is pretty much the same place it has been for years. My kids love the pool table and the Pierogies. They also have decent quesadillas and burgers. The staff has turned over quite a bit in the last couple of years. They used to have a very friendly and attentive staff, the current servers are not the same calibre. read more

I have only great things to say about this bar. Ive been going to this bar for the last 10 + years. Although never have eaten there, its always a great experience for social gatherings. You'll mainly find a younger crowd at the Arms. For the mid 20s bar-goers this is definitely the place to go on any given weekend, so expect a line up on busy nights. They host holiday events such as new years eve and offer private upstairs level rental for special occasions. Management and staff are quick, friendly and get around to everyone. This time they wouldn't serve me a beer because I have a driver's license from another province. A valid government issued ID and I couldn't buy a pint. I'm 30. The King's Arms is a pretty classic pub in old Oakville. Pub food, pub beer, pub crowd. If you want Pub, this is it. I come here every time I am in Oakville for the experience. The beer selection is typical, food is not bad for Pub fare, prices seem a little high but, everything in Canada is expensive. It's a nice place to relax after work with friends, etc. The wait staff, all young women in short skirts and tight tops (a theme to attract business?) tend to provide happy and quick service. Things can get slow when busy, just like any pub. I've never been here late so, can't speak for bar closing. I can't say enough good things about this place... the staff, the ambiance, the food. Absolutely the best pub I have ever been to! I booked their private dining space on the second floor for a small party, and the space is fantastic... newly renovated, spacious, full bar, large TV, tons of ambiance. I highly recommend it for any private event needs in the Oakville area. Rob, one of the owners, worked with me in advance to book the room and devise and print a special event menu; he was helpful, flexible, friendly, and responsive. On the evening of the event, he kindly allowed me to arrive very early to decorate the room as well. Chelsea was the bartender/server whom we were lucky enough to have assigned to our group. She was the best and took wonderful care of us... arrived before her official start time to make sure everything was prepped, very friendly and welcoming, knowledgable about the beverage and food selections, made great recommendations to ensure our party went as smoothly as possible, professional, and generally all over everything while not being intrusive. Beverage selections were great... any pub that serves Delirium Tremens is good in my book, and the food was fresh, tasty, and housemade (the haddock/chips that I ate was great, and others in the group commented positively on their food as well).
