This is my go to naija food spot . Any holiday foods, jollof is the best in the DFW. The stew is good too. I usually get goat meat. I'm a newbie to Nigerian cuisine so I was pointed the direction of Kemi's Kitchen. Kemi was so nice and sweet and very hospitable. On my first visit I tried egusi soup and fufu. AMAZING my second visit I tried the fish (tilapia) and jollof rice with plantains. The fish was flavorful and plantains were hands down amazing. Isn't all that great. Had jollof rice, pounded yam, and moin moin here. Needless to say I have been there a couple different timed and the pounded yam and efo that day has been my only positive experience there. The three stars is only for the soup on 1 occasion. Looking for some really good West African dishes, it's worth the trip to Kemi's Kitchen. Every dish I've tried to date had left me feeling great. My personal favorite is the Pounded Yam with Ogbono soup. In my opinion the best place to eat or pick up the dishes I remember from Naija. I visited Kemi's Kitchen for the first time today. The food was good. I ordered the jollof rice platter with beef and moi-moi and meat pie. The beef was tasty, but rough to cut and chew. Other than that, I was content with my meal. However, the customer service and atmosphere was terrible. I was not greeted by anyone, including a guy who was on the phone the entire time I was there. Two people were nice, but one of them still looked at me as if I walked into the wrong place. I guess will have to try another Nigerian diner. read more

The service was poor. It was hot as fish grease inside the location. Luckily they were giving out water. This one lady was the opposite of customer service friendly. We received two pairs of silverware that were dirty as if they took it off someone else's plate with out washing. The goat meat was tough and inedible and we are true goat meat eaters. Still #1, spot in DFW for 9ja cuisine. Never disappoints and worth every penny. Ogbono, Ila, Ewedu, Amala, Iyan, Asaro, name am, dem get am with correct correct flavour. i tried the other 9ja spots but nothing compares to Kemi's Kitchen yet. Customer service is on point. I had Egusi soup catered at a party and it was a hit all across the board. Everyone with various taste buds from all over could not get enough of it. Ok, so I buy restaurant.com certificates to save a few $$ and to try new places. That being said the food was really good but the waitress was less than satisfactory! She offered nothing, we had to ask for everything. the place was empty and we still waited forever for silverware, napkins, boxes, and the check. i am a bartender and a good tipper but she was probably the worst waitress I've ever had. Ok, then the bill comes. We had to spend $35.00 we actually only spent $32.00 I added it up.... anyways it was $35.75 now I have a restaurant.com certificate for $25.00 so any four year old could tell you the math would equal $10.75. The bill was $21.00 brought out by someone other than our server we never saw before and I said clearly it states $25.00 off. And she said several times that's not what it says. Now I was going to tip more than 20% before all of this even with the atrocious waitress but I was so put off by this embarrassing display that I left $13.00 and left. Yes the food was good even though they were out of one of the 8 things on their menu but totally not worth the hassle!!!!! Highly disappointed! Saw them on restaurant.com and thought we would check this place out. We went and it is family owned. Everyone including others at table next to us were very nice and offered to explain everything. The menu is limited with the number of dishes, but the choices of meats is great. We tried the meat pies for an appetizer, and they were great. We ordered the Solid Food Platter w/ goat and the Fish Platter. Both were extremely delicious with fresh ingredients. They are spicey dishes but that is something we love. We definitely recommend on trying this place out and we will be back. read more

Love Love Love... That's the best i can say. This restaurant serves the best and most authentic African cuisine in the most authentic way. You can have american service with silverware or you can eat with your hands and the fufu. I enjoy the Efo Riro, Mashed beans and plantains EACH time i dine here. Sometimes i may opt to get the egusi stew ...but several orders of Efo always do me justice. If you have never tried authentic African/Nigerian cuisine please allow Kemi and their family feed you the best. I would recommend requesting a side of the spicy stew or red sauce to accompany your plantains and/or efo riro. I did try the meat pies and found them to be quite delicious. Several of my friends have eaten the baked fish and loved every bite. I have not had a single bad experience and have frequented this wonderful kitchen weekly for the past year. Enjoy! read more

The food is ok I cook Nigerian food all the time so comparing to tired of cooking it is ok. The cater to most African church's and events so the food has never been just so amazing to me. For a new person first time earring African food this is a good place to go it may seem really salty or spicy at first but overall it is 3 stars I rather go to Irving for Lola's but Lola's always runs out of suya or dodo. I recently went back to Kemi's for a 2nd time. Although I think they still have work to do, in regards to customer service... this time was way better than my first time there. We were greeted inmediately, before fully walking in. We were told to pick a seat and our waiter was there to take our order. Food came out quick. We ordered fufu and egusi soup. Food was AMAZING !!! OMG !!! The food was soo amazing. However, our waiter didn't give us any napkins and disappeared for about 15 minutes. Overall, the experience was much better. Everyone was friendly. The only hiccup was our waiter disappearing and I spilled soup on my white shirt. Didn't have anything to clean it with so I now have a stain I can't get out. :/ read more

Oh my GOD..... The food taste different every single time u order. There is not a consistant recipe. The fufu tastes exactly like instant mashed potatoes in the yellow box from walmart. Ur always hoping that they will get it right one day, and stick to a simple recipe. If u ask for an extra addition to ur meal be ready to get some slop. My fish was so bad, it smelt like vomit. I had been eating at the restaurant for eight year. The food has just recently gone down hill. I don't know weather they have new people cooking. This is our favorite African Restaurant in the whole of Dallas Metroplex. My Wife and I are have been visiting and buying food from here for the past five years.
