Now in my mid-60s, this is one of the worst docs I've ever seen. I get growths on my face, kind of hard small bumps that won't go away, and after years and several doctors, I still have no idea of what causes them. This person's answer was..."You know what the problem is? Pick, pick pick; pick pick pick," said in an obnoxious voice, complete with finger movements. Ummm, but what's CAUSING THE PROBLEM, doc? i dont know about this guys other skills but he doesn't know how to listen. He prescribed me some medicine and it did not work. The thing is i already tried what he had given me previously and informed him of this. While i was talking to him, he just interepted me and very rudely said how to use it...(which i already knew because i have used it before). Said set up next appointment at the front and left quickly. The medicine never worked(again) so i naturally never went back. I found this very unprofessional as i went somewhere else and the doctor simply listened to me and what do you know he was able to help me reduce my acne. This doctor prob could have to but he refused to listen. Don't know how he is with other skin problems and procedures, but in my acne case, he was no help. read more

This doctor appears to have done his training in the 16th Century. He is also a sadist and will enjoy your pain. He is against antibiotics. He thinks anesthetics don't work. After my previous experience with him lancing a very painful boil WITHOUT ANESTHETIC, I brought in the WebMD article for this procedure and pointed to the words: "The doctor will numb the area". I said please numb the area. He said anesthetics won't work. I said I'd had boils lanced with and without anesthetic (without only with him) and told him that the anesthetic makes a VERY BIG DIFFERENCE indeed, especially for the inflamed surrounding area. He refused. I said "why can't I have the normal procedure". Angered, he terminated the consultation and referred me to surgeons. I asked "will they use anesthetic then". He said yes, and that they would "do all kinds of poking and prodding" which seemed like an attempt to menace and scare me. The nurses at the Quick Care center later said they had heard of this joker, and just shook their head. Another nurse-administrator I know told me straight out he is a quack, and he should lose his license. I agree. DO NOT USE THIS DOCTOR on pain of YOUR PAIN. Just to add icing to the case, if you are not sure: HIs exam room has floor to ceiling windows and looks out onto the main street.. When asked to disrobe, I asked about all the people at the bus stop, who I could clearly see standing across the street. This awful doctor just dismissed my concern, saying they couldn't see in. Well I went to the bus stop later, look at the room from the outside, and yes you can see in. HIS EXAM ROOM IS A PUBLIC GALLERY. In the exam room he always manages to bring an assistant who will be young and female. To see him fondling and pawing at the young girls in his employ is a disgrace. He uses the examination room as an opportunity to molest young girls. If you are interested in a how-to book for sexual harrassment in the workplace, this doctor wrote the manual - from personal experience. There really is no reason for anyone to get treatment from this diminutive neanderthal. read more

That's hilarious to find this review page with poor ratings. I finally resigned to bucking up a $100 to get an expert opinion on my hyperpigmentation and face spots/moles, etc. and went to Dr. Landow in December 2008. As soon as he walked in the room, he was aloof and made some curt remark. Completely agree with Donna R. description of "arrogant, condescending, belittling and minimizing". Without any close up examination of my skin, he rattled off some really big words so I had no time to even comprehend them, then explained nothing further and finally asked what I wanted from him. Duh. I'm here for a thorough analysis of my skin and what solutions are available. Needless to say, there was no analysis, explanation or solutions provided. After only 3 minutes in the room with him, he proved so obnoxious, he actually dismissed me with a "sneer" and we did not carry out the appointment further, nor pay for it. The only important work that dermatologists can provide is to save people from skin cancer. This doctor seems to not think that skin cancer is a priority. My friend went in to have a very suspicious mole removed and the doctor didn't completely remove it -- he only cut it open and left a gaping and hard to treat wound. The doctor didn't check for any other suspicious moles (this is the protocol a responsible doctor would follow). When my friend called to get the results of his biopsy a week later, no one answered the phone!!! Only in Vegas!!! read more

This guy is a 100% JERK and thinks everything is a joke. I went in to have a spot removed on my head (It wasn't cancer, but he still wanted to remove it, and Im ok with that) but after he removed it he started showing me pics of old men with blotches all over and said: "Thats what you will look like when you get older" My nose is red and he said it was from drinking (I drink, but not that much) Landow said I was going to look like ex mayor Oscar Goodman and that there is nothing I can do to stop it. I started using Psoriaflora cream and my nose isn't red anymore. Im not sure what my head will look like when Im 80, it was like he wanted me to feel like crap about myself. Avoid Him read more

One word, HACK I went to this Dr cause he was close to where I live, for a lump on my breast (it was a cyst) he has the worst bedside manner I've ever seen, he didn't take my case seriously, he is arrogant without the skills to back it up, told me "sure whatever we can cut it out right now" i was nervous and said "ummmm ya i think I'm just gonna think about it" then he says "well in the mean time you need to lay off the make up and consider botox!" My sister and I go to Dr. Landow. My sister has gone to him for years. I travel to Las Vegas to see him. I can't believe the reviews could be this bad for this wonderful caring man. He cares about his patients emotionally and their medical issues. He spends all the time that each patient needs. He makes you feel like you are his only special patient. His staff are friendly and helpful. I have never waited more than a few minutes to see him. Please rethink your comments. This is the most accurate doctor you'll ever go to as long as you live. I moved to San Francisco and one of the very few things I cannot get better of in any spectrum is medical care from Dr. Landow. Even though I moved to CA, I still visit Dr. Landow for my Botox. He honestly is the only physician I will let inject Botox because he is such a perfectionist and always does such an amazing job. Dr. Landow is amazing. I have had fillers for years by different doctors/RN's. He is quirky, but gentle and kind. Please DO NOT let the negative reviews sway you. 1. Hate to tell you but you usually bruise when you receive filler in your lip area. I have bruised every single time. I have has 4 different doctors/RN's inject my lips, bruised every time. 2.Dr. Landow is honest and means well. If he brought up your weight, he is a doctor right? 3. Best botox I ever got! I went to Dr. Landow for other dermatological reasons because he is a well known and reputable dermatologist, and decided to get some botox before my wedding, since his office was running a special at the time. I have gotten botox before, maybe 5 times, but really felt that my result with Dr. Landow was the best that I have experienced so far. I got a very natural but thorough result that lasted for about 6 months. When I went to my bridal shower /luncheon people were telling me I was glowing and asking me what I was using on my skin! I am a 48 year old woman, and the only thing I had done differently was to get some botox! It really does make you look rested and takes away those "stress" lines, but Dr. Landow gave me a natural, not "frozen" look that had people thinking I was just using some phenomenal skin product! read more

I went to Dr. Landow for my acne and he prescribed me pills and told me which face wash and cream to use. My face cleared up within two months and the stuff he recommended has worked ever since. Umm kind of annoyed got there front desk was not very friendly and then got into room he came in and looked at my daughter for less than a minute and told me to go get some over the counter medication and the nurse couldn't answer any questions I was in and out n ten minutes normally I wouldn't complain but really wonder why I even went there my pediatrician gave me more info than them Never going back will find someone else Had to add to this so after going to 3 stores to get the otc medication he recommended for my daughter I was told I needed a prescription at all 3 stores so I called the office to be told that he will not write me a prescription and to keep trying different stores I tried Albertsons target and Walmart and had no luck and I got hung up on by his front office staff I have never ever ever had such a crappy experience maybe if I didn't have Medicaid and was there for Botox he would have probably cared to help me I will be contacting my pediatrician for a new referral and contacting my insurance he does not deserve a penny And also I just wanted to point out when he told me how to apply this otc medication he pushed my chest pretty hard and said don't push this hard do it like this After reading the reviews I'm even more upset. I absolutely agree 100% with every review before mine. Saying that he was rude , impatient and arrogant would be putting it mildly. I would love to use several inappropriate names to describe the entire staff and especially Dr. Ken Landow. Isn't there a well known joke on Grey's Anatomy saying that dermatologists aren't even real doctors ??? Well it is true! The worst bedside manner I have ever experienced. I basically paid $100 dollars to be told to go and buy OTC hydro cortisone 1% and treated like garbage. I guess the 5 minutes of his time was already too much because when I asked the same ? 2x he suggested that I go to see another dermatologist that had treated me previously and that maybe he could help me. I went to Dr. Ken Landow just for a change of pace from my normal dermatologist. I had been getting some breakouts on my chin, and wanted to see if there was anything different, that a different Dr. might want to try. Instead, this genius gave me a shaving class and suggested that I grow beard..."But I dont want a beard"...What if I get a breakout on my forehead...Maybe a burka? I wasnt impressed, and I agree with Charles J's review. I think they only care about cosmetic skin care and botox over there...In fact, the lobby is like one big advertisment for cosmetic skin procedures. Before I begin..Please note* I had to sign up for Yelp just to write this review. You would have to really push me over the edge to get me to write a review like this. I read the previous reviews of patients who saw this doctor and thought Ken Landow would be a good fit. Now, I am not so sure if I could trust good reviews anymore. Anyway, It gave me hope after seeing such raving reviews that I might actually see a dermatologist who isn't full of it. After seeing hundreds of dermatologists about my keloids and other skin issues, I finally had hope and Dr. Kenneth Landow COMPLETELY disappointed me. Aside from Keloids, I have a full on body rash. Probably since I am new to Vegas and am not used to such extreme temperatures. I also have a red patch of skin that itches from time to time around my bra area that he said was nothing. NOTHING. Ok, I have a big red patch of skin under my arm pit and it's NOTHING? He was the WORST dermatologist I had ever seen (and trust me, I've seen many). He was completely dismissive of my skin problems. He replied to every one of my questions with "I cannot help you" and I agree with many of these posts that instead of being helpful he suggested cosmetic surgery. I should have known..As soon as you walk into the room all that is being advertised is BOTTOX with photos they stole off of the internet of women looking naturally beautiful compared to this unrealistic photoshopped image of a super model. Way to go Ken Landow! Lets feed off of women's insecurities so they can spend hundreds of dollars on useless bottox injections! Anyway. One of the biggest gifts a doctor can give a patient is hope. He made all of my skin issues seem incurable. Most dermatologists give me steroid shots for my keloids, he did nothing. He could careless about my skin issues and literally saw me for less than 7 minutes before he sent me off with a prescription for a medicine I could have gotten over the counter. They charged me $92 for 7 minutes of this carless doctors time. I was completely livid to the point of tears and even expressed my angst to the nurse who said nothing. In addition, $56 dollars later, the cream he prescribed me isn't doing anything for my body rash. I could have gotten 10 packs of cortisone and that would have worked better. IGNORE the raving reviews. This doctor is not quality, he is a sham and is robbing people blind of their money while he does nothing to cure them of their issues. I will NEVER go to him again and I will make sure no one else I know does either. I'm a writer for Fox News and he is lucky I am not putting him on blast through other outlets. Do not go here if you want any type of care. I took my soon, he came in said one thing, had his nurse write an RX and left. He told me my 2 yr old son was loud(he started crying when the Dr. entered) and thats all he said except dermatitis. I then proceed to pay my co pay and see he charged me for a level 3 initial consult. I will be following up with my insurance company. AVOID DR. LANDOW! I went to see Dr. Landow for a full body cancer screening because my aunt died of melanoma at 42 and my grandmother has it. Dr. Landow asked why I was there and I explained my family history and he said there is no reason to do skin cancer screenings unless you are over 50 years old. I said I still wanted him to check me. He then spent less than 10 seconds looking over my entire body. Total time with him.....no more than 1 minute. If you want to take your health seriously do not go to Dr. Landow. American Cancer Society website: "Unlike many other common cancers, melanoma occurs in younger and older people. Rates continue to increase with age and are highest among those in their 80s, but melanoma is not uncommon even among those younger than 30. In fact, it is one of the more common cancers in young adults (especially young women)." American Melanoma Foundation website: "Current estimates are that 1 in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. The incidence of melanoma has been steadily increasing for the past 30 years. Melanoma is the most common form of cancer for young adults 25-29 years old and the second most common form of cancer for adolescents and young adults 15-29 years old." read more

I don't understand the negative reviews. I went to this doctor over a year ago because my Lupus rash had started flaring up. At the time I was getting painful, itchy, potentially scarring rashes on my face. I've gone to a few doctors before him, and they pretty much ignored my problem. Even my own Lupus specialist didn't have anything helpful. Dr. Landow was the only one who offered some practical advice and some cortisone cream to reduce the inflammation. The Lupus rash on my skin cleared up less than a couple of weeks later thanks to him! No doubt it would have scarred my face if I didn't set up an appointment with him. read more

I have good and bad things to say about Dr. Landow. I've taken my kid to see him several times for skin ailments after seeing my family practice doctor several times. They couldn't figure out what was wrong with him and kept prescribing him different lotions and when they ran out of suggestions, they sent me to Dr. Landow, who figured out what was wrong in less than a minute. He seems VERY knowledgeable and my visits there, even when they don't deal with the initial diagnosis, are very short. He walks in, takes a look, and has a diagnosis in less than a minute. This could be taken as a bad thing as he doesn't seem to be particularly thorough in his exams, but he has never once been wrong in his diagnosis and the skin issues have all been resolved quickly. Now for the bad part. Absolutely EVERY time I go here, I show up on time and have to wait an hour minimum before he actually walks into the room to talk to me. This is a ridiculous wait time and it bugs me, especially since I only talk with him, as I said, for a couple of minutes. I have never spent more than 5 minutes in a room with him, ever. My question, then, is if he's so quick on the draw, how on earth is he an hour late to every appointment I make, even when they're in the morning?? Other than the horrendous wait time, I have no complaints. I'd quit going to him if he wasn't doing such a good (and quick) job with diagnosing. read more

What would your reaction be if a doctor said (while you are standing nude in front of him as he inspects your back), "Your weight will kill you before your skin does." I was so stunned, then humiliated, then angry, I couldn't wait to dress and run out there. He spent so little time I had no chance to bring up my dermatological history nor ask questions about my skin. Landow is dismissive, aloof, and condescending; our brief encounter was creepy and frustrating. Now I must restart my search for a caring dermatologist willing to spend more than 5 minutes on a "New Patient - Level 3" exam. The most horrible doctor I have ever had the misfortune of seeing! He didn't listen to my problem, told me I was fine and there was no issue, spent all of 5 seconds in the exam room and yelled at me with the door open so everyone could hear when I asked a question about the issue I had come in to solve. Dr Ken Landow looks at the rash on my foot and tells me I have condition X. Could it be condition Y I ask? No, definitely condition X, he says. Okay, so I ask about the cause of condition X. He says he can't discuss it until he removes 3mm of skin from my foot and sends it to the lab. (punch biopsy) Okay, so I ask about the treatment options for condition X. Again, he insists we can't even discuss anything about condition X until I have a biopsy done. If he won't talk to me, what am I paying for? The whole time he is curt and distant, kind of like a lawyer on the phone. All the bad reviews are accurate, he has the worst bedside manor you could imagine. I took my teenage daughter to Dr Landow for acne. Not only did he not listen to, talk to or help her.. he actually patted her a few times during his condescending self serving jibberish. In response to my question, he reached out and touched my cheek while prescribing my daughter a cleanser and ointment that has not worked for her. For lack of a better word, he's a whacko. It's too bad that there aren't minus stars on this. I went to see Dr. Landow to explore the possiblity of Juvederm. The "assistant" that showed me to the exam room could not have been more than 12, a very young girl and one with absolutely no customer service skills whatsoever. She was more concerned with getting out of the room and back to her texting as soon as possible. Ok, I thought, so he hires young girls with no interpersonal skills, not my problem, right? I mention the texting because after several minutes in the room, I wanted to use the ladies room. When I went out into the hallway, there were about 3 or 4 "assistants" in the hall giggling over something they were watching on one of their phones. As soon as the Dr. walked in the room, he was aloof and made some curt remark and asked me why I was there, although I had filled out the paperwork and told his "assistant" what I was there for. He was so mean, so arrogant, so condescending, so belitting, all in front of the two "assistants" that he brought in with him, with his assessment of my skin that I left the office in tears. His solution to me was to go and visit the plastic surgeon next door. Boy did I feel good about myself after that. What an obnoxious twit. I would not ever recommend this guy to anyone. I totally understant not getting the solution you are looking for, but the delivery in such an unbelievably cruel manner was way too much for me. Needless to say that after that incredibly short visit, one for which I took a day off of work, I did not pay anything. Not much in the way of customer service Dr. Landow. I hear about TONS of Dr.'s who do Botox and injections.. He has done a beautiful job on my Botox and I myself will continue going and referring clients to him..
