I'm not the type to leave review unless I think it's necessary so that other are aware of any issues the business has and don't go through anything similar. I was recommended this business owner by an Aunt who said this man would come to your home ( not charge you) and check out your dryer and give you an estimate depending on what's wrong with it. Well we had a dryer and it didn't " heat up well " so we got another fb market... and it wouldn't dry even more and certain lights kept flashing on it. So we decided to go take it to a pro... since we had spent so much already.... Well we took it to him because he charges 50 buck to travel from Lancaster to palmdale. And everything seemed well. We got our dryer back and it was the same. No changes were done to it... we called him and all he did was restart the dryer. Which I had already done that.. I found a video on YouTube that showed you how to restart that model in less than 5 min. He charged us 50 dollars to restart it.. and kept it to himself until he was confronted about it. And then he simply said " nothing is free in this world " .. I simply don't like that he wasn't honest with us and didn't tell us that he basically did nothing to the dryer and was still rude .... I will never recommend this business. (The vents were cleaned from any lint they had the real problem was a rock that some how ended up were the steam leaves the house) smh read more

This appliance repair business used to be good few years ago, not anymore. Technician came out told me what was wrong, then told me they didn't have the part I needed and told me to go on Offer Up or eBay and buy parts. I told him that I didn't want used parts. He then tells me he found parts and would come back following day. He's was over hour late, he brought wrong parts, then proceeded to tell me that he couldn't get parts and since I didn't want old used parts, there was nothing he could do, and wanted money for coming out. This clown did absolutely nothing. It was his mistake bringing incorrect parts. This place is a total joke. Poor customer service. Stay far away from this place. read more

This is a horrible company with sub standard items. They claim to sell "refurbished" appliances - if they are refurbished, they are very poorly serviced. I received a stove and it has already required two service calls in less than two months! Do not buy from this company. Went here looking for some thermostat switches for a Samsung microwave. The parts weren't in stock but the salesman at the counter was very professional and courteous enough to let me know of the potential delivery delays (due to the holidays). He did provide me with the actual part numbers (not on the part itself); which allowed me to order the correct parts on Amazon. They delivered my washer and dryer the next day, and when I had to reschedule my delivery time for later that day they were happily able to accommodate. The delivery and installation, including removal of my old washer was painless and quick. They did a great job and are friendly and easy to work with. Was having problems getting the size and brand of Dishwasher I wanted with other dealers, so we found Ken Mark very helpful and they were able to order the exact dishwasher I wanted but at a slower pace when ordering, took six weeks to get it, but I am very happy with the service, they installed the dishwasher then instructed me how to use my dishwasher, which I give them a plus for, no other dealer does this, that I have experienced, I forgave their slowness due to what they told me was the problem for slow ordering and delivery during this pandemic. A technician came out promptly the next morning to do the conversion, but also identified a couple other issues with the oven that needed to be addressed. All we needed was a simple part for a simple appliance. My dads something of a plumber himself and he understands how much parts should cost. Being a good consumer, I even looked up some comparable prices online, but the shipping took too long. So I went here, and the man behind the counter with glasses and grey hair was not only rude, but straight out ignored me at times. I sent my dad in the next week thinking the guy might be more decent to him (I wasn't sure if I had the right part so I didn't purchase when I went.) My dad asked for a discount, nothing big, just something fair considering the markup. And unbelievably, somehow this guy got the nerve to say, "In 30 years I've seen a lot if Russian Jews but you're (mumble mumble.)" Oh my god. What era are we living in? Never go to this guy. Feb 2023, I needed to purchase a washer and have a dryer repaired, I weighed the cost of driving in SOCAL to pick-up something off craigslist compared to buying at this location. Considering Time wasted in SOCAL traffic and the likelihood of getting a raw deal and not getting a reply from contacts on craigslist. If they did reply it was "sorry sold" or no-reply at all. Ken-Mar turned out to be the better decision, I purchased a clean used Maytag shaft agitator style model 500 and got my Whirlpool Gold gas dryer of 28 years back online, it cost about $480 with repair and purchase. I probably didn't save in the transaction, but I left with a better piece of mind and I saved in the waste of time, gas & frustration it would have taken/caused driving in SOCAL traffic looking at suspect units or matching pairs. No locking lid, no computerized mother board, no plastic, no bells and whistles, I did not want to be a maid to my machine and have to wash IT every six month or sooner, I understand that some machines need special tablets, or vinegar rinses ???? Really, I need a machine to clean my clothes, period........I looked on line and I educated myself, I found the exact machine I was looking for! Speed Queen! I chose the simplest one they offer, no computers, no bells, no whistles, NO NONSENSE! I GOT A Strong, Durable, Energy Saving, Hard Working, Manual Water Control,(what a concept huh?) MACHINE! AMERICAN MADE!!!!! ALL STEEL CONSTRUCTION! I decide how much water I need for the load I am washing, I use half the soap and softener I was using with my old machine. I strongly recommend anyone who is in the market for a new washer to do your research and check out SPEED QUEEN machines, you won't be sorry! I purchased model 432 it has a very large stainless steel drum, I just washed my heave king size bed spread in my new machine and it came out awesome and clean and spun so well that I only used half of the normal dryer time! I have also found out through my research that the life span of most washing machines is an average of 6 years! My old machine gave out after 5 years, the computerized mother board took a dump! that is why I started looking for simplicity, and I found SPEED QUEEN! I paid 849.00 for my washer, got free delivery from my local dealer KEN- MAR in Lancaster Ca. and free install and free take away of my old machine ! Great deal because I have a 5 year warranty on my new SPEED QUEEN! I asked my dealer if they had any used SPEED QUEENS, he said no one ever gives them up! I read on the reviews that some people have them for 25 plus years! I divided that by 6 and got 4. Meaning as an example, in 25 years I would statistically be replacing my washer 4 times!!! how much would I save by buying one machine instead of 4 in 25 years????? I have purchased "reconditioned" stoves from this company just to later regret my decision. This company does not "recondition" the appliances as you think but instead clean the interior and paint the exterior. They do not trouble shoot the appliance to fix the problem and if the problem is noticeable it appears they use "used" parts and who knows how long these parts will last. They want to charge you a $45.00 service charge to come out and tell you what is wrong and then will charge you parts and labor to fix the "reconditioned" appliance. When you ask what is their labor rate charge is they tell you they have to check with the service technician. Their prices are cheap but so are the products they sell. When you figure the cost of the appliance and one service call you would be better off purchasing a builders model from Home Depot, Lowes or Sears. You get you pay for and they sell junk! read more

Everytime I've dealt with Ken-Mar appliance I've had a great experience. Two years ago I bought a used Samsung refigerator from them and never had a problem. Alex even kept my name on file keeping his eye out for a produce drawer for me. When I moved and needed to get the appliances picked up they came right out and even gave me a partial "refund" for the appliances. I couldn't even get the Salvation Army to come pick them up for a donation because they were too busy and couldn't schedule me in before I needed to leave. We looked everywhere for a transmission for an older clothes washer and everyone else said that it was unavailable. They had it in their shop the next day. My review will be honest and concise. I called the company to get a price for my washer and dryer. Daniel asked someone in the store and they told him how much they would pay me. By the way, I told him the make and model of my washer and dryer. It had only needed a minor tuneup since the day I purchased. Anyway, I was waiting for them to call me back to schedule someone to come out and pick it up. I never received a callback. So I called back and spoke to Daniel again and he said he would get back to me when his guy came back. So the next day and still no call back. So I called back again and told them I would be writing a very unfavorable review on yelp. He told me someone would be out to my place in 5 minutes. 5 minutes later and very rude man named "Virgil" came out. He took one look at my washer and dryer and said "this in not what they told me to pay you for and pick up. Then he turned around and put his dolly back into his truck. I was so irate I immediately called the store and told them he was leaving. Daniel called Virgil and told him to pay me and take the washer and dryer. Daniel then apologized to me for Virgil's rudeness. Virgil did not even take one of the black hoses saying, he could not get it off. He seemed to be in a great hurry and never ever gave me eye contact. He also kept ignoring me when I tried to talk to him. So my review is mixed. At least Daniel fixed the problem. read more

My washing machine stopped working properly. I googled possible reasons and found that the lid switch failing seems to be the most common problem. But to be safe, I called KenMar and scheduled someone to come take a look. If it was gonna be reasonably priced, I had intended on using their services to fix the machine. On the day of the service call, I was going to call them to cancel because I had a friend who said they'd look at it for free. But before I could call, their service technician called me, to cancel. Perfect. While he was on the phone, we chatted a bit about the possible problem. I told him that everything on google was saying likely a lid switch. He said probably not and that in most cases with that appliance it's the motor. I asked him how he could know that without checking it out and he assured me that in most cases that he sees, that's what it is. And he also said something about the computer and hot steam messing the computer up. I told him we use cold water, rarely hot water. Then he continued to assure me it's likely the motor and not worth fixing. Well, whatever. My friend came out, installed a new lid switch ($20 part, $0 labor) and now the washer works fine again. Saved myself a $45 service call. Just a lesson here....the technician can't possibly know FOR SURE what's wrong with an appliance till they come and look. Maybe he would've figured it out if he came or maybe he would've told me wrong and I would've wasted my money. Not sure, but disappointed by this experience. read more
