Came to Kennedy's for lunch this Saturday and was honestly was blown away. We sat in the bar area without a reservation and although lunch isn't the busiest at most restaurants the place was buzzing. Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation (even edible flowers on the frozen) truly something to travel for. The staff was wonderful as well- if Joe Is working i highly recommend getting a Moscow mule. 10/10, a great spot to eat on the beach. read more

I've been to Kennedy's a couple of times and I've only had great dinner experiences here. Last time we had Saturday night reservations and the restaurant was pretty busy. We got seated at a nice corner table with an excellent view. There are not many restaurants where you can enjoy your dinner while looking over the beach and the Manhattan skyline in the background! The menu is not super big but there is something for everyone, and if you are into seafood you are in luck! We started with the jumbo shrimp cocktail and the arugula salad (a special of the day). Both very good. I've tried a couple of dishes on the menu and the fish is usually a great option. However, this time I was in the mood to try something else and decided to go for the mushroom and truffle risotto. I'm so happy I did, this is from now on my favorite dish on the menu so creamy and rich. I would definitely recommend it. Throughout the dinner the service was excellent and made our dinner experience top notch. We finished with a brownie served with ice cream and whipped cream. Yummy, but it could have been a little gooier. Overall, we had a super nice dinner and I want to come back every time we are in Breezy Point! read more

Delicious restaurant, great view and great service. Stopped in for dinner while in breezy point and had a delicious meal. The oysters were so fresh and delicious. I really liked Kennedy's. It was a pleasant surprise, a spot recommendation from a regular here my group went through the checkpoint and got the special coin to come here. At first, have to say was unsure what to order crab cakes sort of sounded good but Was definitely more in the mood for Burger or Chicken. The end result I first got beer battered chicken. Very tasty dish and it was like yes!!!!!! ( I made the right choice). Overall got a few Corona's and they were nice over the amazing views of the beach and Coney island (who knew Kingsborough was all thAt close). I look forward to coming back to this spot, everyone in my group seemed to Enjoy their meal. The salad was amazing and chicken wings (buffalo style ) was good also. Don't listen to some of the other reviews. This place was amazing. From the front desk to the wait staff. Everyone was attentive and served with a smile. Not sure what some of these other reviews are talking about but if you notice most of them leave negative reviews for a majority of their experiences. So take that for what it's worth . So we had a 6 pm reservation, we pull up to the gate and we tell the parking attendant we have a reservation. She asks "are you a resident?", which we replied "no" and she stated "you're not eating here then!". So I dropped my gf off and found nearby parking and walked back, thinking to myself if they don't want my business, they are making a valiant effort. So we had a few drinks at the bar, then shifted to our table. The place was nice, the service was good, and I enjoyed the food. Ok just to start, The food is amazing. It is so good. Chef's kiss. The employees are so nice and are very polite. They always make sure we had satisfaction and constantly came with more water. 7:30 reservation on a Thursday night after Labor Day We were seated at 7:40 not bad at all . We had a table by a window and a spectacular view. Scallops with risotto appetizer was delicious and the tuna tartare is always good. Our cocktails were brought to us by the very pleasant hostess with the response "my pleasure " to our thank you. Wait a minute, did she just say "my pleasure"! Oh yes she did! We had the beef Wellington although very good, I wouldn't get it again as I like my meat very rare. So I was particularly excited about going to check this place out since the last time I went to Breezy Point was to check out the full scope of the damage from hurricane Sandy. I must admit that when I looked the place up on Yelp I was not excited but a friend picked the place so I went along... When I arrived I found the restaurant to be fresh, nicely decorated and there was a crowd. I sincerely think that the pictures of the interior on Yelp do not do the place justice. We were given a table with a view of the bay which was wonderful. We were given one menu because apparently they were low.... It went downhill from there. I ordered a coke which was flat.... I knew that I wasn't going to be happy. We ordered the beet salad which had way too much dressing and the beets lacked crunch. We got clams... They were tasteless and oily. The Thai chicken dumpling were not good as well. I went with a burger because no one messes up a burger right? Wrong! The burger was flavorless and the bun was not fresh. One of my friends had the tuna sandwich which looked dry... My other friend had the Cubano which was also mediocre. So I gave two stars because the location and setting are great if not for that I would have given one star. The service was slow but the waitress was attentive and cheerful. The food was bad especially for the prices they want. Needless to say I will not be returning again. I would need to hear that there is a different chef to return. I am told that this is the only place to go and eat in the area hence I think the mediocre food may not go away as patrons have no other options hence business has no pressure to change. Ok it's early Sunday and I don't want to cook after a looong Thanksgiving weekend The waitress Rita comes right over and asks what I would like to drink. I ask her to recommend a popular red wine and she suggests a delightful blend, which is delicious. She mentions the specials, sesame crusted sword fish, strip steak and a NY sirloin. Nothing hits me. It's chilly out so I order the onion soup and it is good. I must confess better than Gotham Grill which I went to Friday night. There's a subdued crowd here tonight, a bit unusual for Kennedy's, but I guess people are in a post-Thanksgiving food coma and home watching the games? For my entree I decide to get the pork medallions with braised red cabbage and butternut squash. It is just wonderful. Cooked juicy and a generous portion The red cabbage is done perfectly as is the squash. Rita has been back four times, checking to see if everything is ok. My mom and I stopped by Kennedy's for a couple of cocktails after being in Breezy for the day. This my my first time back since they rebuilt it after hurricane sandy. It's beautiful in there, such a great atmosphere, and the totally glass windows all around gives a great view of the beach/bay. The upstairs room is beautiful, I definitely want to plan a party up there one day soon. We only say at the bar and had some drinks. The bartender was nice, and all the servers who walked around would offer a smile. I can't wait to go back to eat! read more

Beautiful setting overlooking the NYC skyline. Comfortable atmosphere with live solo artist music. Expensive apps but dinner portions were ample at elevated prices. My swordfish was overcooked and the roasted potatoes bland and rubbery. Carmel cheesecake was the best part of my meal. Service was soso because our server probably had too many tables. This place is a favorite for the locals of Breezy (because it is basically the only restaurant in the town) and for outsiders (because it is located directly on the beach. It is beautifully furnished inside with open glass skylights and wooden pillars, light blue painted walls and nautical accents. The classical music that blares as you wait for your meal is excruciating to listen to. The food is good, but it is slightly pricey for portions on the smaller side. It also closes down for certain hours of the day in order to prepare for the oncoming dinner session. read more

I've been here a lot over the years, my own baptism party was here lol. We've had my grandmas birthday dinners here the last few years and it's always perfect! The service is great! The atmosphere is nice! The food is amazing! You can't go wrong coming here and I highly recommend it! My favorite dish has to be their signature chicken in a puff pastry! Ordered a burger and gotta say it was horrible considering where I was and it being a premium place price and all. Week old bread and zero spices- really ?!?!? Gets 2 stars for the building and location. -1 stars for the food. I guess this is where you drink and don't touch the food. We are left with one star. Sorry kids you got to better. read more

I hate four star reviews. Not quite a "perfect," not quite a "lacking." Sigh. Something's off here, that much I know. Great frozen drinks, great pasta lambrusco, the risotto was ok. Just ok. Just ok? is that right? I don't know. But, as far as I can tell, other reviewers agree. Anyway. In "the point" where affordable and family friendly options are limited, kennedy is top notch. there were, however, some unsavory characters seated next to me and my mother on the patio. She is hard of hearing (deaf, really, but i dont want her to read this review and think i didn't give her condition proper respect) so it was ok. Had she heard, this review might be a 2 or 3 star. Or maybe we would be asked not to return to kennedy. I was livid. These kids were talking about bed bugs and I suspect they were under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol...... i'm not sure how much they had had to drink but kennedy you need to keep tabs on yur guests consumption. I never heard of this place and thankfully I have great friends that show me great restaurants. This is a must go. After hurricane sandy this place is totally redone and beautiful. Has great views of the water and brooklyn. This place is spacious and food is delicious. We started off fried calamari which was cooked beautifully. We got two salads one spinach and one arugula. They were both excellent. And the crab cake appetizer which were small but delicious. I got the sea bass which was huge and cooked perfectly with amazing mash potatoes. We also had the salmon, and duck. Everything was fresh and delicious. For dessert we had key lime pie, brownie, and ice cream which was all ok. The waitress was very pleasant and knowledgeable. My bridal shower was thrown here by my mother and sisters two weeks ago. Everything about it was absolutely perfect! We've been receiving so many compliments about the food, room/view and helpful staff. The food was delicious (salmon, steak and chicken in puff pastry all with snap peas and potatoes). The staff was super helpful (and patient, especially while we took a million pictures with the cake ha). And if you are a beach person (or even if you aren't) you can't beat this view. We were lucky enough to have a beautiful day but I'd imagine even on a rainy day just looking out and seeing the sand and ocean is enough to make anyone happy! Well I have been going to Kennedy's for years and I always get a good meal, but tonight it was exceptional! First off, the place is beautiful, extremely well kept, immaculately clean and with it's location right on the water make sure you make your reservations so that you catch the sunset the glass enclosed room, truly spectacular. The maitre'd sat us promptly and Carol our waitress was terrific! Drinks and bread right away(which I love) A great mix of specials and even though all I talked about on the way there was having a steak, I ordered the fish special which was Cod with a crusted mustard glaze. We ordered appetizers which came out fairly quickly and were delicious. Crab cakes, shrimp cocktail, baked clams and mussels and everyone said they were perfect. Then our dinners,which other then me, everyone ordered steaks and 3 different temperatures and all the steaks were right on the money and as good if not better then a NYC Steakhouse. To top it off my Fish was incredible. We ended the meal with some hot coffee and a couple of hot brownie sundaes that were to die for. Not the cheapest, but certainly the best meal I ever had there.Definitely deserves the five stars I gave it. read more

This was supposed to be a fancy place to eat at but I really did not appreciate the terrible servers who seemed to treat others with a friendly manner but not our table. When the rain came dripping in from the window, we asked to move to another table. They were not too pleased with this request despite all the tables around us being empty. Two Asians and an Italian were definitely being served a bunch of racists. We were there for an early dinner. The food was fine but nothing that would make me want to go back. Since I was the guest and driven there, I had no idea where I was. I would never have guessed that this place was considered a popular dining location. I even had to look up this place by searching Breezy Point restaurants on Goggle. That's how great it was. Won't go back there. read more

The view is lovely here, but other than that I've experienced better. The waitress was cold and unfriendly. She mistakenly told us a bottle of a particular wine was not available in half bottles even though it clearly stated it was on the menu. When one of my friend's asked for a vegetarian option, she was not helpful at all. She had wanted a pasta dish with just vegetables and all the pasta choices included some seafood of some kind. For the price, I expected the food to be better than average and it certainly wasn't. I ordered the Summer BBQ Braised Beef Short Ribs, Chive Mashed Potatoes, Chef's Vegetable and while it looked nice on the plate, the taste was lacking. The ribs were fatty and tasted pedestrian. The look of the place looks upscale, but in my opinion it was no better than most diner food. I had come here on another occasion for lunch and had gotten a chicken wrap which was not very memorable. Also the place made me feel a bit out of place because everyone that comes here is Irish. I don't think I would have minded the homogeneity if the staff was a bit more welcoming and friendly.
