First time at the Spa/Salon. Wasn't impressed at all. Was greeted by the salon staff rudely. My facial felt very rushed and the employee seem to waste time talking instead of actually preforming the services I was paying for. She took too much hair on my brows off, can't fix the missing hair. :( I had specific request for my message and the staff member didn't follow my request. I spent over an hour of waiting before and in between my 3 services. The dressing rooms had towels on the floor and the hair brush they have for you to fix your hair was full of hair. I don't typically go to Kenneth's to have my nails done (or any other beauty treatment), but my grandmother does, and she wanted to take me to have my nails done for my birthday. I agreed, figuring the price she would pay would supply me with a decent dip manicure, but alas I was wrong. I arrived to find out that the appointment time (45 minutes) was not long enough to remove my existing dip, and replace it with a new dip manicure, as that would take an hour and 15 minutes. I found this surprising as it's something that my regular salon accomplishes typically in about 40 minutes, but I can understand every place has a different set of steps. Now this was in no way the fault of Kenneth's, as my grandmother made the appointment for a gel manicure. I politely explained to the technician if she didn't have time to do a dip manicure, that I would just wait and have my nails done in a few days at the salon I regularly go to, as gel does not hold up on my hands, and typically begins to chip or peel within 2 days, and thus is a waste of not only money but everyone's time. She seemed a bit distressed by this and worked with the women at the front desk to re-arrange her appointments so that she could complete my manicure. I greatly appreciated this, and we went ahead with the manicure. During the whole manicure I felt that the technician was rushing, even though she had the full time. By the time I walked from the technician's table to the door I had found multiple issues with my nails. Areas not filed correctly, left incredibly sharp, despite having a rounded square shape, and other areas completely missing dip. I decided I would just file the areas a bit so that my nails wouldn't break in the exposed areas. By the next day I noticed other areas not coated by the top coat that were left rough, grainy and honestly a bit gross. At this point I didn't have the ability to go to my regular salon and pay to have the whole thing redone, and figured I'd try to muster through it for a couple weeks. Well within a week the dip was already separating from my nails, something that doesn't typically happen until week 3 with a dip. At this point to protect my nails from getting caught and badly damaged before I can get back into my normal salon, I have had to pop the dip off. After this experience, I will never spend my money, or allow someone else to spend their money on me at a Kenneth's salon. I won't pay more for a lesser service. And while I'd like to be able to chalk it all up to this one technician, I learned that all the Kenneth's technicians go through a specific Kenneth's training before being able to preform beauty treatments, meaning they're all trained the same, meaning I would most likely experience a similar issue at any other Kenneth's or with any other technician at a Kenneth's. On a side note, if you have curly hair, I would NOT get it cut at a Kenneth's, I've heard a handful of warnings from others with curly hair, like my own, who have made that mistake. read more

I see Heather (stylist) for regular hair cuts and coloring - she does an amazing job and I always receive compliments on how shiny my hair is after a visit with her. I see Rebecca (Massage Therapist) for deep tissue massage and cupping therapy every 6 weeks or so for the last 3 years. I have had some severe back and shoulder pain in the past and the cupping therapy she provides has given me quite a bit of relief. She is an expert in her field and works to attend continuing education experiences to enhance the customers experience. I've had massage therapy in many high end spas in the Columbus area and after I met Rebecca, I stopped searching for a great massage therapist. Not only is Rebecca extremely knowledgeable, she is very professional and personable. I always look forward to seeing Rebecca. read more

I'm notoriously bad for waiting too long to get my hair cut and then scheduling a last minute appointment the day before some big event like a wedding or graduation. But Kenneth's is totally understanding, and they ALWAYS get me in the same day. I love the stylists. They're chatty and do a great job every time. I always opt for the stylists on the second tier of experience. That way, I don't have to pay too much, but I'm not too afraid that my hair will be a disaster when I walk out. Granted, every girl there seems to be fantastic. One drawback of Kenneth's is that their stylists don't seem to stick around for too long. I've been going there for just over a year, and I've had four different girls work on me in that time. I request to have the same person each time I go, but I'm always told that so-and-so moved on to a new location or is no longer with Kenneth's. I'm not sure what the deal is there, but a girl and her hairdresser need to have a tight bond, and it makes it hard to form such a bond when the hairdresser up and leaves just as you're getting to know and trust her. Another drawback is the price. $40+ per haircut, but I'll pay what I have to to keep my tresses manageable and out of the hands of Famous Hair. My guilty pleasure at Kenneth's is hairspray #9. It comes in an aerosol can that is totally bad for the environment, but it smells like cotton candy and gives me a light but reliable hold all day. Hey - I can't be all green all the time. read more

I have been going to this hair salon for years (for a variety of services) but rarely ever patronize the same stylist, mostly because I end up having my hair cut spontaneously and I just see whomever is available. Kenneth's Hilliard location has never failed to fit me in within the timeframe I request- even last minute. The one thing to keep in mind at all Kenneth's Salons: there are different levels of stylists, ranging from "Master Stylist" to "Creative Director" (the highest level of artistic hair design) and they are priced accordingly, ranging from $34 to $55 for a hair cut and style. When scheduling an appointment, be sure to specify what level of stylist you want to see, otherwise they schedule you with the highest priced designer available. Also, if you are extremely unhappy with your haircut, they will certainly make the effort to fix it. I have never received a bad hair cut here, but it certainly helps going in with a clear idea of what you want and keeping an open mind. The stylists, particularly the newer ones, tend to be up on the latest techniques and styles. The spa itself is nice. Nothing fancy, but Kenneth's offers all the standard massage and skincare packages, along with the whole gamut of nail and waxing services. I like Kenneth's and would recommend it to folks who aren't seriously high-maintenance. read more

I've been going to Kenneth's for about 4 years now and I've been lucky enough to have the same stylist for at least 3 of those years. I LOVE HER! She always is very cheerful and offers me advice about my hair. I am not a very picky person when it comes to getting my hair cut. I'm just looking for a good haircut at a reasonable price. I've always spent a little more on my hair, even before I started going to Kenneth's years ago. I know there's been a few times where I've waited until the last minute to get my hair cut, but Kenneths has always come through to schedule me the same day. I've also had my eyebrows waxed at Kenneth's and they've always done a fabulous job. (Better than another place I've been to here in town.) I dont bother to call in for my appointments, but I go online to schedule my appointments -- even if its in the morning or at midnight. Its such a great convenience too. read more

Visited this location for a women's hair cut. The location was clean and trendy. They are well stocked on products to purchase so you can recreate your style at home. My stylist was Kylie. Specifically for a pedicure; other services have been positive experiences. Overall I was very underwhelmed by the service. I got a full pedicure and even upgraded and it was only 45 mins long including dry time. They were fairly respectful of Covid procedures - but at one point I believe there were too many people in the room. The service is overpriced for the lack of amenities offered. I think the total massage part of the pedicure was maybe 3 mins. Nothing to do with the service provider, completely reliant on the process of Kenneth's and what they were trained to do for the service. read more

Went to alex for years for my hair. Love her to death. Valerie was amazing for my spa services until she was doing thing that would cost extra without telling me. This last time, during a facial she put a mask on me that started burning and when I told her, she didn't take it off immediately. When she realized a few minutes when I was having a reaction, she just put something calming on my face and sent me on my way in a hurry. I was so red and blotchy it was unreal. It took nearly an hour to stop burning. Not fun. read more

They are now way more expensive than anyone in the area by far for the services I enjoyed. Went for the first time the other day for a pedicure. In my brain, Kenneth's has curated the "exclusive spa" reputation. That wasn't at all my experience. It was a pretty basic pedicure experience. For the price, I wasn't impressed. The Mill Run location looked (Mill) Run Down and was not a relaxing atmosphere. The building looked very used and was more like a doctor's office than a spa experience. read more

OK... so, long story long, (my stylist knows how I truly enjoy sharing looonnng stories)... I got married over 7 years ago. At the time, I liked to save money by getting my haircut at those cheap walk-in places. Many times, I got my bangs chopped haphazardly as a little 4 year old bawled beside me. For my wedding, I wanted to make sure my bangs were even and I got a nice normal haircut. My friend had given me a discount card to Kenneth's Academy, and I figured it would still be relatively cheap, so I went there. Eventually, I found the stylist I still go to there (known as "Brooke" at Mill Run). She graduated the Academy, so I moved with her to Mill Run. Then I realized--why don't I get my nails done too? Oh, and I really need a massage! What about waxing? I'm sick of shaving! I have tried many of the services offered at Mill Run, and gradually, I've began to see Kourtney for waxing and other skin services. She is awesome, friendly, and super good at her job. Brooke is down-to-earth, great at listening, and a seriously brilliant stylist. There are many other wonderful employees there who provide excellent service. If you are in need of some pampering, I encourage you to visit Kenneth's. I'm not a girly-girl, but they never make me feel dumb for not knowing about certain products. They are willing to educate you without being condescending. If you're like me, and you need help with how to care for your hair, skin, or nails, they will give you tips and recommendations as necessary. It's a great place to relax and let someone beautify you! One more thing: it's easy to make appointments online. I can't recommend Camryn enough for hair services. My mom and I both go to her and we have very different hair types, colors, and cuts. I've had basically the same cut for years, but she always takes the time to discuss what I want done at the beginning of every appointment. She ensures that you are comfortable with length, color, etc. throughout the appointment. Camryn is a lovely and lively person and even though I'm someone who doesn't love small talk, I actually love getting to talk and laugh with her during my appointments! Well... I finally had that extra time for myself where I could sneak in some TLC for my hair. I was sad to see that my hairdresser was no longer there. However, I originally made an appointment and that morning Kenneth's called because my stylist was going to be late. They informed me I had been rerouted to Jae to keep my time slot. Let me tell you, I was NOT disappointed! She was so kind, very informative and gave me exactly what I was looking for. She's very upbeat and can carry a conversation well. I was so satisfied that I scheduled both my children for haircuts that same week. She was still just as upbeat, kind, and all smile. I'm going to start this review off saying that I didn't pay for my services. If you read my review of my previous Kenneth's experience at another location, you will see that I was offered comped visit. I went in to see Megan (I believe) for a blow out, my original service at the other location. The blow out went fine. Service was quick and my hair was left feeling soft and clean. There wasn't much conversation, but I can't really complain about that. Some stylists are chatty, some aren't. Ruba at Kenneth's hair salon at Mill run in Columbus Ohio is very skilled and knowledgeable. I left a different salon because I wasn't satisfied with the results and they don't treat the customers with respect. I now trust ruba with my hair which as you know for a woman that's a very precious thing. She has given me great advice on how to fix some issues I was having with my hair and they worked! I have to fess up, I lied in a review...................................ok ok well maybe not lied.....I wrote a review on the Aveda School and said "who needs Kenneths or Penzone's"...well........may have spoken a little too soon. While I've had good facials at other salons, I do have to say that Kenneth's hands down wins the most comfortable bed award. Went in today for their signature facial with Teresa. You go in the room and change into a towl/gown type thing. The bed is slightly warmed and once you lay down they give you a quick hand massage with lotion then wrap your hands and place in warmed mits. The bed is SO comfortable and soft, with the dim lights and relaxing music you definitely are very relaxed. The extractions are no fun, but Teresa is very thorough and totally took her time to get your skin as healthy as possible. I also like that she didn't push their products on you. While not the cheapest it's a nice splurge every once in awhile. My skin felt so clean, soft & healthy after I left. read more

This is the only place I get my nails done. Every nail tech I've seen has been terrific, but for me Seana and Tia are my "first team." I get compliments on my nails all the time. I also get my haircuts here. I'm middle-aged and wanted a new style that was a little more flattering. After discussing it with Martele, we agreed on a pretty radical new cut. Scary at first, but I ended up absolutely loving it. Even strangers told me that my hair looked nice. I have also gotten blowouts from other stylists and have never been disappointed. With their latest renovation, Kenneths in Hilliard took a big step forward. The waxing rooms are now private, instead of in the middle of the lobby, and the complete 90's look is gone. The facelift has not changed their attitudes though. The greeter's are just as pleasant as always and my service still wonderful. I see Alice for all my waxing needs and I can't say enough about her. She is personable, kind and very good at her job. Kenneths may be a bit pricey for some but I save other places to feel comfortable here. read more

Valerie is an absolutely AMAZING esthetician. I have been going to her for eyebrow waxing and facials for almost 15 years and can say I wouldn't trust anyone else to do the amazing work that she does. I used to commute back from college for appointments with her. My sister and mother who moved make sure to schedule appointments with Valerie each time they are home because they cannot find anyone up to par where they live. Her attention to detail and ability to truly take time on her work make her stand out from anyone else who I have ever gone to for services.
