I ordered the fish naruto roll from yelp takeout and the experience was pretty smooth. The fish was fresh and they give complimentary soup (loved that) I got there a little early and had to move my car since flushing parking is pretty tight. I told her I'd be back and when I was walking towards the restaurant, she was outside with my package. That's what I call service. & as for my roll, I'm glad they put seaweed salad inside. First time trying this place and we got the sashimi and roll platter (XL) which is recommended for groups of 4-5 people. Comes with california roll, eel avocado, salmon avocado (8pcs each), shrimp tempura (12pcs), sashimi and nigiri sushi. The sashimi was very fresh!!! Melts in your mouth :) the service was great, restaurant was clean, and food came out fast. Wish we got to choose the rolls we want for the platters but overall still very tasty! My favorite sushi place because of how fresh and affordable the sushi is. I also like it's a casual spot where you can grab a quick meal. I ordered the chirashi bowl for $12 (weekday lunch special) and I bet there is no other place that beats the quality and price. The rice is chewy, has the slight sushi vinegrette taste and sesame seeds on top. They don't hold back on the sashimi even though it's a lunch deal. I also love how they provide miso soup regardless of what you buy and if it's take out or to go. read more

Great prices and fresh food. Union sushi never disappoints when it comes to party platters! The ONLY thing I don't love is their over load of spicy mayo of their rolls, but if you ask them to lighten it up they will. read more

We saw a pack of ice in our takeout bag and thought wow this place is great... until we started eating. The most awful sushi rolls I have ever had. My husband and I ordered the spicy salmon roll, spicy tuna crunchy roll, sandwich sushi, and about $20 of sashima. The rice on the rolls were gooey and tasted like mush. Even the wasabi (which they give you loads of) was off. On top of that the rolls tasted moldy! We couldn't even eat it! How can you sell moldy food to people and still have a conscience? Pandemic or not, ethics matter. Never ever again. If you have sushi cravings, please go someplace else and save yourself the disappointment. read more

The best sushi place in Flushing! Their sushi tastes amazing, the seaweed is not soggy, got a little crunch, and the rice is soft. I am always hungry and always wondering what to eat where to eat and saw this place located next to my Hair salon. I almost walked away but I checked here on yelp, saw great reviews. I ordered a spicy tuna crunch roll and sashimi salad with rice. Spicy tuna crunch roll was so good so yummy, will definitely order it again. Sashimi salad w rice was very disappointing. It was a bowl of rice, cut up lettuce, one piece salmon and one piece of either red snapper or fluke cut up in little cubes, one imitation crab stick. I didn't even eat this I just had it pack to go. I would not recommend this for you unless you just want 2 pieces of sashimi and bowl of rice. I am glad I ordered a spicy tuna crunch roll if I only ordered sashimi salad I would've given this place one star and never would've gone back. I'm looking forward to going back and trying other rolls. read more

Best bang for the buck (literally since it's a cash only establishment). The arrangement of the food on the round dishes was great and that was accompanied by the fresh and good taste. As it is a Korean run establishment, there is a difference between the spicy tuna found in a Japanese restaurant and this place. Came here twice--the first time, we were seated right away and miso soup quickly followed. Everything was pleasant. The second time, however, coming here with the family for dinner, the water took forever to come. I typed our order into a memo note on my phone and read it out to the hostess. She missed one roll and I pointed to it, showed it to her and made sure she got it. We got the rest of the rolls relatively at the same time but after 20 minutes, was sure she forgot about the roll. Pre and post pandemic this was my jam. Ate here all the time. My go to place. Fresh and creative. Unfortunately the quality has taken a major hit as of late. I'm guessing due to rising costs and the prices haven't really changed too much. The salmon is chewy instead of soft and melting. The final straw was the stomach ache my family and I got the last time. It was awful. No more for me thank you. What a shame. Should have just raised prices. read more

In my opinion this is the best tasting sushi in the neighborhood (4 stars) They don't have any lunch specials that people would want such as a 2/3 roll combo (-1 star) Portions and pieces of sushi are big, it never taste too fishy or oily. I've been wanting to try this place for a while now after seeing all these positive reviews and I was not dissapointed. I got the eel combo and it was really delicious. The roll did fall apart a lot easier than expected so it burst apart, but the roll it self was pretty tasty. The cashier/waitress was super friendly, greeting me once I entered and the two male chefs at the back were extremely quick at their sushi making! There are 3, 2 seater tables and 1, 6 seater table. The place is small and quiet, but it's more of a relaxing quiet than just quiet. I only tried their eel combo, but next time, i'll try their sashimi! It's also a cash only place, so make sure to bring some cash with you! read more

My go to sushi place. Everything is here is extremely fresh. I ordered the 5 rolls special for 50$ and it was more then enough for 3 people. The meal set includes miso soup for each person. The miso soup is a bit watered down. Other then that it was great. I would rather come to this spot instead of going to an AYCE. The quality is 10 times better here at Union sushi. read more

The sushi's very fresh and came at a reasonable price. I came in with a friends during lunch time on a weekday (Wednesday) so it was relatively empty. Waiters were polite, I didn't have any problems with them. The wait time wasn't very long after we ordered. Portion size for each sushi piece was as expected, not small like certain other sushi spots. Since my experience was pretty good and the price and sushi itself was good. This my new go to sushi spot. read more

This is now the second time I went prior to this was a year ago. I went a year ago because the yelp reviews are great. I went again today because I saw a great yelp reviews. both times I was terribly disappointed. Today I got the super salmon roll and the super tuna roll. Couldn't comment on how the role tasted there was so much spicy and hot mayo on it that that's all I tasted. I was literally getting uncomfortable it was so hot and spicy. I love spicy salmon rolls but I've never in my life had one so uncomfortably hot. I finished my meal off with a seaweed salad which was unremarkable as well. Next time I'm in the area I have to remember not to go to this one and be fooled by the good yelp reviews read more

Ordered delivery. 3 rolls: Dragon roll Manhattan roll Union roll All three were good, not great. Delivery was fast. They said 20 minutes and it was exactly 20 minutes. We'd have to try the food dining in to give a fair review but the rolls were good considering it was delivery. So 4 stars for now. read more

I was craving sushi and made the trip all the way straight off the plane from JFK to Flushing in pouring rain with no umbrella. Their sushi is affordable and generous in fish to rice ratio. I like that they have lunch specials as well. There's sit down seating for small groups if you want to dine in. It's clean and modern decor. Definitely will be my go-to sushi spot when I'm getting cravings because that ish is too expensive in LIC/Astoria. read more

Great sashimi. The salmon slices melted in your mouth. This place just opened so we went in the afternoon and no one was in the staff were really nice and friendly. A huge crowd came in later and filled up the whole place. The food was great but there were no plates. It's a good take out place. We got free hand rolls and miso soup. So everything was fine until my sister found a tiny bug in her miso soup :( which is why I'm rating this place 2 stars. Definitely ruined me and my friends excitement for this place, because my sister had been wanting to bring us here. When they gave us our food we looked to make sure there were no bugs which is sad. The biggest disappointment was the lack of variety. There was no shrimp, and instead of something warm and traditional like miso soup, we were served edamame. Edamame is perfectly fine as a casual appetizer, but in a premium omakase experience, it felt more like filler than part of a thoughtfully curated progression. Another thing noticeably missing was the presentation and artistry. A true omakase experience is not only about the quality of the fish--it's also about the chef's touch, attention to detail, and the presentation of each course. Here, the plating felt basic and lacked that refined, personal touch from the omakase chef that makes each piece feel special. We also felt somewhat rushed throughout the meal, which takes away from what makes omakase enjoyable. It should feel like a carefully paced culinary experience, not simply a sequence of sushi being served quickly. The service was good and much of the fish quality was solid, but nothing really stood out or surprised us. Most importantly, after choosing the Premium Omakase, we actually left hungry, which was probably the most disappointing part. We've enjoyed omakase experiences from New York to California, including excellent ones at higher price points, so we understand what a more expensive omakase can offer. Beyond fresh fish, we look for variety, creativity, beautiful presentation, thoughtful pacing, and that unmistakable chef's touch that turns dinner into an experience. And unfortunately, the meal ended with two particularly disappointing pieces. We were served a fake crab meat sushi that we found awful, something we simply did not expect as part of a Premium Omakase. The eel was equally disappointing--it was missing the rich, distinctive flavor and character that makes eel such a memorable part of a sushi experience. Wabi Nori has potential, but the Premium Omakase needs more variety, substance, creativity, stronger presentation, and greater attention to the individual pieces before it truly feels premium. Three stars: good service and some good-quality sushi, but for a Premium Omakase, we expected considerably more--especially from the food, presentation, and overall experience.

It looked like it might have been frozen fries, but it was fried perfectly with a nice subtle seasoning Salmon Teriyaki Lunch Bento Box ($14): this came with white rice, salad, miso soup, California Roll and a couple of fried Shumai.
