1/2 tuna fish sub with fries
    Jeff B.

Ok. I didn't have any of the Chinese food. All I can speak to is the tuna sub combo (with fries and a can of soda) I got today. I ordered from a friendly woman behind the counter and sat down. A few minutes later, she brought over a take-out box and a fortune cookie (nice touch) and reminded me to take a soda from the fridge. Fortunately, there was a table available. There are only 4 4-seat tables in the place. A couple walked in and walked out when they saw all the tables were being used (a single person at each table. (I would have been happy to share,) The sandwich came with lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo. A bit too much mayo for me, but that's personal choice. I was impressed by the amount of tuna. The fries were piping hot and nice and crisp. I will come back snd try some of their Chinese food sometime.

If you're looking for big portions on a friendly budget, Keeney's Sub Shop is the place to go. The portions are huge, and the chicken wings with fried rice are my go-to order. I'm not sure if the chickens were hitting the gym, but these wings are gigantic definitely not the tiny ones I used to get in my high school cafeteria. This is the perfect spot for satisfying comfort food, and it's a great hangover cure sp much better than cold pizza. If you want something fast, filling, and easy, this is your place. Oh, and don't forget to order the half-and-half in the gallon plastic container no meal feels complete without it. Free parking is available, and they have a couple of tables if you prefer to dine in.

DoorDash order. Called the restaurant to remove an ingredient from a dish and the orders showed up perfect! HOUSE STEAK SUB and SMALL FRIES were typical good Kenny's sub shop quality and quantity. First time ordering C9. BEEF LO MEIN COMBINATION PLATTER with EGG ROLL was also good. Five stars for consistency.

What a HUGEEEEE disappointment!! Took about 3 spoonfuls and the trash had the rest! No flavor, food was cold, egg rolls were oily!! Horrible

I placed an order via DoorDash for sesame chicken and mozzarella sticks on a Tuesday evening. I've been on a relentless pursuit of finding at least one restaurant in this bloody county that can fix some good sesame chicken. So far no luck since my favorite place in Chevy Chase permanently closed. Well, this place was no different. And it's weird they serve Chinese takeout as well as American sandwiches and hoagies and such. The order was picked up without a hitch. The rice smelled like it was cooked with sewerage. The chicken was ok. Hard and mushy but dry and sickly sweet. Yum yum said not me. I promptly packed everything as my husband's lunch the next day. Savage I know.

So let's talk about Kenny's. I see all the complaints like this is some sort of gourmet shop lmao. This is a Gaithersburg/Rockville staple for steak and cheese, fried chicken wings and rice, and quick Chinese food. It's great, it's greasy, it's filling, and it goes against everything in your dieting book but it's so damn worth it. I've gotten this food many times in many different forms lol. I love the beef and broccoli, steak and cheese , wings, fried rice, lo mein, fries, and the half and half just to name a few. I get it late night, drunk night, fat night, and lazy night lol. The kid loves it, and hubby enjoys it as well. They have something for everyone in every flavor. The prices are reasonable and they give you a lot of food. You can preorder or go there and order. Service is cool and no it's not a sit down restaurant it's a carry out. Lol.

Restaurant changed from their pre-COVId crinkled fries to regular fries, soggy and bland. Comes with Kenny's special Steak and Cheese Sub.

Been dining here over 10 years! In the past they had great steak&cheese, decent sushi and homemade drinks that kept us coming back. Sadly, COVId hit them hard; so the recipes and menu have changed. No more sushi and the steak&cheese is more cheesy than full of the flavor it once had. The General Tso dishes have all the flavor in the breading. However, I can still recommend their wonderful drinks, varied desserts and the chicken teriyaki as an entree or on a salad is still quite good. Call them directly and save on the delivery app fees! Fast and well-packaged delivery.

SCREW WAS COOKED INSIDE CHICKEN AND BROCCOLI

MAGGOTS AND A SCREW FOUND IN OUR FOOD!!! We found several maggots in our chicken and broccoli. Where are they buying their food? It just shows that they don't wash the ingredients. ABSOLUTELY NO. OSHA NEEDS TO INSPECT THIS RESTAURANT. On top of that we found a screw!! We almost broke our tooth trying to chew on this. PLEASE DONT GO HERE, this is absolutely disgusting. And the fact that I called the restaurant and demanded to speak to the manager. And the manager has not reached back to me.

Just placed my first delivery order. I've been trying other places around town for delivery and the food just sucks. So many Asian places but not one decent Chinese joint that offers delivery. That is until today. I found it strange how this place has everything under the sun on their menu. It was one of the reasons I decided to give them a try. How wrong can this actually go? Well it didn't go wrong at all. I was pleasantly surprised. I order General tso chicken and chicken lomein with fried rice. Huge portions and the food was tasty. I was also in the mood for egg drop soup. It was delicious. I ordered the lunch specials $6.95. You can't beat these prices and the amount of food they give you. No other Chinese place around offers such low prices for lunch. The cheapest I've seen is $8. I will definitely order again! The delivery came within 1 hour and even the delivery man was nice and pleasant with a smile.

I just want to preface this by saying this review was not written by AI. This is a heartfelt review…read morefrom a real human! My boyfriend and I went to Melina for the first time, and we both left with the exact same thought: this is the best restaurant we've ever been to. To begin, our server, Justin, was the absolute best server we've ever had. From the moment we sat down and were handed the menu, Justin immediately began to explain the starters and appetizers. He didn't just explain what was on the menu; he broke down the origins, the ingredients, where they were imported from, why they were named what they were, how they were cooked, and even how they would make us feel! We left that introduction knowing exactly what we wanted and why, with zero guessing. Neither of us is from Greece, yet we didn't feel like we had to look up a single thing on our phones to understand the menu. Everything we had was a perfect combination and an incredible experience. When it came to the main dishes, I chose the Portobello Mushrooms, which come with a hazelnut farro. Justin remembered that my boyfriend is allergic to nuts and thoughtfully had the farro served on the side so that my boyfriend could still try the rest of my plate safely. That level of care and thoughtfulness is something I've never encountered in all of our dates. Between the jokes, the perfect check-ins, his menu encyclopedia knowledge, and the overall vibes, my boyfriend and I left the restaurant overwhelmed with joy. Neither of us has ever left a restaurant review before, so that alone says a lot. Melina and Justin will definitely be a regular staple in our lives moving forward. Please go to this restaurant and get the Crab Croquettes (every single bite left me with a smile)!

The service was also great! 10/10 Very courteous and kind. Thank you!

Any Marylander of the Boomer and GenX generation knows about O'Donnell's RUM BUNS. I used to come here with family back in its heyday and these were served table side before our meal. How crazy is that, a nice lil somewhat sinful dessert BEFORE some MD crab?! Those were the days! The rum buns are more nostalgia more than anything, I wouldn't say they'll blow your socks off, but hey, nostalgia is nostalgia. Well, I'll need to dine in here for a full and complete verdict, but my quick grab and go visit was a tad chaotic. Service for taking orders could improve - you walk in, there's a seafood counter to your left, bakery counter to your right (both were unmanned when I walked in) and in the middle is a deli section with the cash register where I assume they take orders. We stood there for a few good minutes before getting anyone's attention despite the fact a manager asking staff (not customers) if everyone was being helped. Clearly staff did not know who was waiting to check out, take orders or just waiting for their orders to arrive. So it was just weird. No one greeting you as you walk in either, it just also weird because there's no clear line anywhere you stand. Otherwise, rum buns were as I remembered them. Also picked up crab dip and chicken salad from the grab and go section from the back and they were just ok, not bad, not great. So will come again for a future visit hoping to have a much better meal and experience!

It feels like a little slice of California in Bethesda, making it a great spot for a casual lunch, brunch, or dinner with friends. We started with the Potato Salad Deviled Eggs and Jalapeño Cornbread. Both were excellent, with the cornbread being a standout. Warm, flavorful, and served with a generous dollop of butter. For my entrée, I ordered the Herbed Chicken Breast Paillard, which was light, fresh, and well-seasoned. The arugula and lemon complemented the dish nicely without overpowering it. Of course, we couldn't leave without trying the cookies for dessert. They definitely lived up to the hype and were the perfect sweet ending to the meal. The only area that fell short was the service. Our server was incredibly friendly, personable, and pleasant throughout the meal, but service felt inconsistent. There were several stretches where we didn't see our server for an extended period, which resulted in longer waits for our entrées and even getting a dessert menu. One example that stood out was when I asked for a to-go sleeve for one of my cookies. Unfortunately, it never arrived, and after waiting for a while, I ended up walking over to the bakery counter myself to request one. It was a little awkward because I was questioned about whether the cookie was actually mine before I could get the sleeve. While I understand the need to verify purchases, the situation likely could have been avoided had the original request been fulfilled. None of these issues were major enough to ruin the experience, but they did take away from what otherwise would have been a seamless visit. Overall, I'd still recommend Summer House Santa Monica for the atmosphere, quality food, and dessert selection. With a little more attentiveness on the service side, this could easily be a five-star experience.

I had to wait a few minutes for the host to return to the stand, but was seated promptly and a 4-top table in the center of the dining room. Service was attentive and polite. My water glass stayed full throughout and she helped me navigate the differences among several espresso martini options from the bar. The dining room has lovely high ceilings and the bathrooms were pristine. I ordered the Costa Mesa salad and added chicken. This brought the cost of my entree to $32 -- which I did not feel met the value for what I was served. The food was good, but there certainly wasn't enough of it or ingredients that I felt warranted the $32 price tag. I also took home four cookies ($5-$6 each) to share with my family. The cookies were good, but again, not worth the price tag. A return visit is probably not in the cards for me any time soon. This is a convenient spot to the iPic Theater and other "downtown" rockville spots so it might be nice to get brunch and then go to a movie or do some shopping. Parking is in a garage nearby.
