    Naan, rice, curry chicken
    Kelly M.

I absolutely LOVED the samosas...chef's kiss. The outside of the samosa was so light and flaky. I could have eaten so many of them. The owner greeted us warmly and made a few suggestions. He suggested the chicken curry. It was nice and spicy and it was seasoned well. The dish was more curry than chicken. The chicken could have been more tender, it was a bit dry. White rice was an additional dollar per person. The rice was undercooked and bland. The naan was good, but small. When dining in, orders are placed at the counter. The food was served in Styrofoam bowls and plates. The original menu prices had all been crossed out and new prices were written in with price increases. It would look better if they reprinted the menus. I spent $25 for an order of $5 veggie samosa (2 in each order), rice $2, 2 orders of garlic Naan $3, and $14 for the chicken curry. The restaurant was decorated with lots of Bible scriptures. There was also various religious pamphlets around the restaurant to take if you'd like to know more about God. I thought this was pretty cool.

The Indian restaurant scene in the greater Atlanta area is robust, but this is different from anything else. Kerala is a particularly tropical state on the southwest coast of India, and the food here reflects the local culture. This is a tiny place and it is not fast food; I would agree with others who said that this place focuses on large takeout orders (presumably for parties among the local Malayali population). That being said, my wait was fifteen minutes or so, nothing crazy. I sampled an ulli theeyal, a coconut and mustard based dish with a robust, roasted flavor that I fully believe it takes four hours to make as they claimed. Finding that they were out of some appetizers, I went for a dosa, the savory crepe which is available in other South Indian places (but not your average Indian restaurant in America), which was an excellent preparation with the cabbage and carrots added to the usual filling. A single delightfully flaky parotta rounded things out. It was more food than I could eat in one sitting, but definitely worth taking home.

The food was amazing!!! The food is made to order so order ahead of time. The owner was very friendly and helped me pick out the best dishes to try since it was my first time in the restaurant. The restaurant was small but nice. I order the veggie samosa, butter chicken, garlic nan and goat briyani. Everything was great. The picture i added is exactly what I ordered. It is from there page. I will be back!!

Service was great. Good food. I felt like it was a home-cooked. This is a small shop and there are some regular customers.

The food is good. The butter chicken and chicken tiki masala is a little salty for me but taste good. Price is a little higher than most places. The quantity is good amount. The chicken 65 could use more flavor. I do like the samosas. Nothing can go wrong with garlic Naans. I have attached the menu. Waiting time is extremely longer perhaps due to low staff. Be prepared to wait at least 1 hour after you placed your order. Good thing shopping is nearby. Consider the area and location, this is good.

Sweet spot, chicken 65 is amazing and love that he said around 2 people can eat from a single serving when I feel like three or four people can eat it with some garlic naan and be enough. Super friendly and fresh. Really like it

Parotta awesome but veggie entree's thumb down. Don't go for veggie selection. Good quality and quantity.

And whenever I try a new Indian place, I have high hopes that it will be a knockout. I will say - although their plastic serving utensils and dinnerware made us skeptical, seeing other Indo-Pak's dining there made us hopeful that we had possibly found a gem. Shahi Grill was a total surprise and I can't wait to share what we had! Chicken Samosas - Crunchy and flavorful. Gone in 60 seconds. Chicken Corn Soup - A bit too peppery for me, but it was still tasty. My Dad gobbled it up. Garlic Naan - Soft, flavorful, and the perfect chew. You get a good sized portion for the price too, so definitely order some for your meal. Butter Chicken - I was about to order the Tikki Masala, but the sweet lady taking our order told me that there's a "medium" spice level to it. Well, unfortunately, medium spice scares the ba-jesus out of me, so I went with her suggestion, the Butter Chicken. What a win! Not spicy at all, just TONS of flavor! My peeps thought that mine was the best of the 3 entrees. They scooped their Naan into the Butter Chicken sauce and moaned with every bite. There wasn't a drop left of it in the container. Open Fire Grill Chicken Boti - Cooked perfectly, delicious flavor, and so moist. My dad got this served over saffron rice. He loved it! Shahi Malai Chicken - This chicken was some of the most tender and flavorful chicken I've had in a whiiiiiiiiiiiiile. If I could beg the chef for this marinade recipe, I would....and I'd make it week after week. I think the flavor of this was my personal favorite. I'm still burping it up, and loving it. haha There's NO doubt that we'll be ordering from here again. So grateful this is right around the corner from us. This was the neighborhood gem we were looking for. THANK YOU to the chefs back there in the kitchen. Please add some vegetables to your menu if you're reading this, but other than that - don't change a thing! A++

Instead, we decided to try somewhere new and headed to Pita Corner in Lawrenceville. I ordered the beef shawarma with falafel. Let's start with the positives. The restaurant was clean, the dining area was well kept, and the restroom was spotless. It looked like it had just been cleaned, which I always appreciate. Now for the food. The beef shawarma had decent flavor, but it was so dry that every bite felt like a workout. The meat clung to the roof of my mouth and my teeth like it had signed a lease there. No amount of chewing seemed to improve the experience. Texture matters just as much as seasoning, and unfortunately, this missed the mark. The falafel ended up being the highlight of the meal. It was flavorful, had a nice texture, and was easily the best thing on the plate. I always like giving new places a chance, but this one just wasn't for me. While I appreciated the cleanliness and friendly environment, the food simply didn't leave me wanting to come back. If you'd like, I can also make it a little sharper and funnier for Yelp while still keeping it professional and believable.

The ambiance was mostly people waiting for their food, so it is not really a spot where you dine in and chat with people. Definitely more of a grab and go spot. I think the service was fine. I got the Chicken Shawarma Pita with Fries on the side. I thought that the chicken shawarma was both dry and juicy at the same time. I think it could have been marinated better. I liked the pickles inside the pita, but they were a bit too strong so it kind of overpowered the chicken shawarma. Moreover, I wish there was more sauce inside of the wrap. The fries were just alright. Overall, I am not sure that I would come back here again. But I think it is a solid spot if you want a quick fix for Mediterranean food.
