Store sales people blamed an ex-employee for the bad experience. They argued with me 3 on 1, and offered no solutions. They kept my $400, sent me out, and then bragged about the reputation of their store/last name. It was a brutal look. Long run, I'll gladly pay $400 to know that this isn't a store to do any business with. FWIW.....I ended up taking the watch to another jeweler in Libertyville. They repaired the watch for $275, and it took them around 2 weeks. Nasty and unprofessional attitudea at Dalzell. I do not recommend going here.

Although we did not know it at the time, the person who helped us broke two of the four screws that hold the back of the watch on. The person then handed us a small plastic bag containing the parts that used to be the watch. She said we would have to send the watch somewhere to be fixed. We then wrote a review of the incident on Yelp. A representative of Timothy Grant Jewelry called and asked us to bring back the bag of watch parts for repair. We came back with the bag and Timothy Grant Jewelry "repaired" the watch and asked us to take down the Yelp review, which we did. We paid for the new battery and left the establishment. This month the watch needed a new battery. We took the watch to a reputable jeweler. When he opened the watch to replace the battery, he told us that 2 of the 4 screws that hold the back to the watch are broken and the heads of the screws were glued in to present the appearance that the watch is whole. We then attempted to communicate with Timothy Grant Jewelry to resolve our issue. There has to date been no response from Timothy Grant Jewelry. We have had three negative experiences, first he broke the screws that held our watch together and handed us a bag of parts that used to be our watch, second he claimed he fixed the watch but fooled us with a fake repair by gluing the heads of screws to the watch, third he would to respond to us in any way to resolve the issue.

To be specific I asked that they design a ring from some lose stones I was not currently using. I contacted their design team and I was treated with a prompt response, meet with the master jeweler and came up with a design that was unique to my stones and style. Suzanne spearheaded the project directly and communicated with me on all the steps during the way. The process took a while but I was not in any hurry since I understood the detail going into the ring. I received the ring today and this ring is the most beautiful ring I have ever seen. I cannot express how impressed I am with the level of customer service, detail in the design and the quality of the product. I am going to miss working with Steffans since we moved away from the area but I am so thrilled with the ring I will have forever. They have other decorative tchotkies; when I was in it was late September, so there were Halloween themed goodies to be had, as well as some Thanksgiving decor. They had a Halloween tree... like a ceramic Christmas tree that you sometimes see with the little pieces that fit into the boughs of the ceramic tree but in orange and purple. When did we start having Halloween trees? I also saw some jewelry and other gifts. It's not the shop I would go to Crystal Lake for, but I have been curious about this shop the last couple times I have been in Crystal Lake so I'm glad I stopped in this time.
