While that seemed expensive, we agreed to move forward based on the quote we were given. Then came the real problem. After nearly FOUR WEEKS of waiting with little to no communication, we were suddenly told the project would actually cost $4,000--double the original quote. The explanation given was that there had been a "misunderstanding" regarding the original price. I do not find that explanation believable or acceptable. A quote doesn't accidentally double after a month of holding a customer's jewelry. If there was confusion, it should have been identified immediately, not after weeks of wasted time. We trusted this business with valuable family jewelry and expected professionalism, transparency, and honest communication. Instead, we were left feeling misled and frustrated. The most disappointing part is that we only came here because our trusted jeweler couldn't meet our timeline. Looking back, waiting for the jeweler we already trusted would have been the better decision. Whether this was incompetence, poor communication, or a bait-and-switch pricing tactic, the result was the same: four weeks wasted and a complete loss of confidence in this business. Proceed with caution. If you choose to use this jeweler, get every detail in writing before leaving your jewelry with them.

Their service was not ideal as they did not recommend adjusting my ring size, and their quoted cost of re-dipping my white gold rings seemed outrageous. So I had them adjust one band, to the 1/4 size, since that's all they would do. But I knew this wouldn't make me happy, I could feel it in my gut! Well 2 1/2 years go by and I'm still unhappy with the size and fit of my bands. Together they feel tight, almost claustrophobic, and leave indentions in my finger. Even though, alone, they fit fine. Finally I went to Houston since they have a great reputation and are near my house. The service was amazing! As soon as I walked in, the associate, I didn't get her name, explained that she had the same issue with her rings and she understood completely. She recommended going up a half size for each ring (I KNEW IT!). She even said the resizing would INCLUDE a cleaning and a dipping of my white gold. All of this was the same price, per ring, for the 1/4 resizing the other jeweler begrudgingly did years ago. They were so kind, efficient, and offered excellent customer service. I have now bragged about my experience to multiple people, hinted at some jewelry I loved to my husband ;) and will plan to be back in the future. Also, my rings SPARKLED after I got them back! Let me start by saying how happy I am right now. Happy with my beautiful ring, happy with the amazing price and beyond happy with the customer service we received from Vidal Mora today. In May, my husband and I will be celebrating our 10 yrs together. This being my 2nd marriage, I never wanted a wedding ring. The meaning of a ring meant nothing to me, I was content with get a tattoo on our wedding fingers. After about 5 yrs of marriage I was starting to really want one. My husband was persitant to make my wish come true this year. I started browsing thru jewelry websites but quickly gave up because it was a little confusing. So today when my hubby said let's go to the jewelry store, I was hesitant because I have had bad experiences with salesmen. Either they are way too pushy or they start getting an attitude because you take too long. Not the case today We walked in, the 1st ring I saw I was in love, a little over what I want to spend but it was beautiful. I continued to window shop. Mr. Vidal was very nice, we had told him that this would be my 1st ring and it's our 10 year anniversary, we told him our price range we wanted to stay in. He was happy to show me any ring I wanted to see, I was able to try many on and he definitely made us feel comfortable. Long story short, I got the 1st ring I saw when I walked in lol. No sales tax and lifetime warranty at an amazing price. We went to Valley Plaza and looked at different jewelry stores then we came across Kevin Jewelers right when we walked in we were greeted like family by Fidel Mora he started helping us asking us what type of jewelry we where looking for. He was so helpful you can tell he has lots of jewelry experience he was explaining all the different Cuts & Styles of diamonds. They even had an awesome sale 80% off on different jewelry pieces. We have been shopping at kevins for many years . I would like to complement the staff on how nice they treat us . I'm a loyal customer due to the great fantastic service Yuri gives us every time we're in. YURI always works hard to upgrade our jewelry when we ready. I used to sell jewelry and it's a lot harder job than it looks , Yuri always gives excellent service. If I did have any kind of complaint there's two things the company never furnishes them with the steamer to steam my diamonds and make them look beautiful but Yuri still takes the time to try to clean them the best she can without a steam machine. I get a little annoyed that I spend money with the company and they do not put a steam machine in. And my only other complaint is with sabie finance, We have spent over $10,000 with them and paid them off and each time I try to get an increase or add something they want the biggest down payment and high monthly fees. But with that said I still like to give my compliments to the manager the staff and most of all Yuri for making me a lifetime customer at Kevin's Jewelers. I love their selection of Bulova watches. So keep in mind the five star rating I gave Kevin is for Yuri and the staff not Kevin's jewelry itself for no steam machine. read more

I'm a contractor from Florida and am working for the navy in the Bay Area but I'm originally from Bakersfield. I wanted to visit my hometown after a 20 year absence and after I had seen what I came to see, I stopped off at the Valley Plaza Mall. I always drop in on local Jewelry shops out of curiosity of what they might have that differs from the larger jewelry franchises. I was very pleased with what I saw and casually asked if they sold previously owned Rolex watches. They did and they had a Submariner with a blue dial face that looked identical to one I sold had off 10 years before. I fell in love with the watch and they made it easy for me to purchase despite this being a spur of the moment thing. The staff was very understanding and patient with me fawning over it. I'd recommend them to anyone and it's a pity I'm not in the area any longer to do more business with them. read more

Just thankful that I'm slightly educated and didn't get played by this place because if I had, I'd be pretty upset when finding out how much the piece is really worth.
