I had developed a toothache over the weekend, and was slowly getting worse. I cold-called Dr. lopez's office and they squeezed me in a few hours later. I was a new customer, not a returning one. And with many doctors that's not good in terms of getting an appointment. But not here. My two stars is for the fact that Dr. Lopez does not contract with any dental insurance and her prices therefore are very high. She charged me over $2000 for one crown and any follow up visits regarding the same crown were billed at $97 per visit, for the same crown, and those were issues regarding bite or pain. I feel that those visits should be part of follow-up care and not extra, given that Dr. Lopez can charge the maximum rate for her services given she is not beholden to a contracted insurance rate. The office does let you make payments on these charges but at the end of the day you're still paying a very inflated fee,versus if you had gone to a dentist that was contracted with an insurance company. She is very accommodating and gentle if you have anxiety around dental work so she definitely gets five stars for that. Updated review: The office reached out to me after seeing my review and explained that the two visits that I was billed for $97 apiece were not related to the crown charge. Dr. Stefanie is professional, trustworthy, compassionate, and great with kids. She cares about her patients and can be reached during a tooth emergency.
