Exactly this is what happened yesterday. I went in to make several copies of my condo key, which you'd think would be simple enough, but I'd been forewarned that it was tricky because of the lock and the dated systems ... but not to be deterred, I forge ahead. I enter and am stunned to discover that it's a huge, seriously grand locksmith, not your small town mom n pop shop I was used to. They have every conceivable kind of lock and key system, including home system set-ups. Eric is the man to see here--super sweet and helpful, leaned into the job at hand: I handed him my key and explained my condo in SM, which he was familiar with. He made the copy in less than 30 seconds. No joke. I asked him whether they accept ApplePay, at which he declined to accept payment (based on that I wanted five other copies of the same key made). He suggested I go back to my condo to see whether it works (of which he was fairly confident), and to come back for the remainder of the copies. Shocked, pleasantly surprised, stunned, happy that he was trusting me. This is the level of superb customer service that makes me want to return and to refer my friends and family and others in my building. This. Is. The fire kinda service with a level of 100% trust I don't find very often. These guys are the real deal. I walk back to my condo and try the key--voila! It works. Armed with success and flush with my newfound victory, I go back to the locksmith, at which point Eric was busy but another gentleman helped me out (I wish I'd gotten his name), and made me more keys. And yes, they all worked as well :-) The price is eminently reasonable, no gouging here. They're located downtown next to the Century Theaters and street parking can be tough, especially at peak times, but lots of parking garages nearby.

With this in mind, I recently spoke with Eric about a Mercedes key fob issue I was having and he told me about the key fob batteries that he keeps in stock at the store, which are different from those I've been purchasing on Amazon. Not only did his battery this increase the range zone on my key fob, but a secondary fob that I was convinced was a dead key fob, I used the battery purchased from the store and this fob is now working again! I called that same evening and he picked up right away, I FaceTimed him and showed him the issue with my lock. He was very knowledgeable and said he would come first thing in the morning. The next morning, Frank came promptly ( brought an extra specialized lock just in case) and he took the time to assess what was wrong. Frank was very honest with me and said the underlying issue was not the lock but the leveling of my door. He could easily have replaced the lock and charged me for that as well as his time to come to the house. Instead, he DIDNT charge me and said he didn't do anything ( although he did adjust my lock a bit to help me utilize the lock temporarily). Although he didn't actually change my locks and I didn't fully use his service, I will promote his services to anyone and everyone I know both verbally and through social media because he deserves ALL the business because of his knowledge, hard work and HONESTY. The person who talked to me on the phone was very informative and understanding which made the process Very smoothly. Idk about the readers like you, but I know 0% of how changing locks, rekeying works. It was my first time knowing "rekeying" exists. But she was patient and kind to help me through. The actual locksmith came on time and actually tried his very best to make the lock fit my needs. Our commercial space needs a special ADA compliant handle from the inside and he was able to alter my original door to fit. Too bad I'm not changing any lock anytime soon otherwise I would love to use them again!
