This place rocks my world. I'd never have known it was in this dingy little strip mall if not for a friend who recommended it. If you want glorious, high fat, dripping in butter, smothered in sausage gravy, deep fried delicious breakfast - this is the place to go. I typically order the sampler plate or the chicken fried steak. You get a mountain of food for $7.99. It's usually enough for 2 meals for me. Even the bottomless pit, aka my husband, had a tough time finishing what was on the plate. When the place gets busy, you can wait a long time for a server to even bring you a water. I'd expect at least some recognition from the server who walked by my table 8 times before taking my drink order and bringing me a menu. Even saying "I'll be with you in a minute" would have appeased me. The servers were super friendly tho, I will give them that. read more

I was driving around trying to decide where to eat for dinner and noticed that the Keystone deli was open. I decided to stop in because the wife and I have eaten there for breakfast. I actually did not know that they were open after lunch, but when I entered there was a sign stating they are now open until 8:00pm. I tried the chicken livers with baked beans and mashed potatoes and for desert.....ah.... the banana cream pie. Everything was very good and I will be back again. Please, anybody reading this message stop over and give their dinner menu a try. We need to stick together and keep the mom and pop restaurants open. read more

A great little hole in the wall diner. It's not really a deli. It's more of a greasy spoon diner. I've only ever been here for breakfast. You get a LOT of food, no matter what you order, it seems. The potatoes are a bit bland, but they are plentiful, and, you know... potatoes. The coffee is great, and it keeps coming. The servers have always been nice when I've stopped in here. I'm comfortable coming in here and eating by myself and watching people or reading. When you walk in, you seat yourself. You might feel a bit akward if you just stand against the wall. We have been going to the Keystone Deli for years it was recently bought by new people and slightly renovated. We very much liked the renovations the new paint job looked very nice. The atmosphere was very nice as usual we personally would have liked our food out faster but when it came it was defiantly worth the wait! 3 of us ate breakfast food and 1 had lunch the food tasted amazing! Although the new renovations are nice they need to work on changing and renovating their bathroom, it's not great. Other than that though the service is nice, the atmosphere is nice, and the food rocks! I would highly recommend the Keystone Deli! read more

Omg is this good grease. Do not judge a book by its cover there is some serious grub goin down at the Deli. This is what Bob Evans and Cracker Barrel wish they were but can't quite get there, not with all the down home farm tchotchkes in the world. Their short order and fry cooks put out crispy bacon, perfect browned potatoes, custom omelets, fried chicken, you name it-- always right everytime. fast, consistent, fresh. Service is the swift "what will you be havin today, hon" kind-- coffee and water is always refilled before you see the bottom of the cup. my favorite on the menu is Momma's Pancake bkft-- 3 amazing pancakes with warm syrup, eggs, choice of sausage or bacon for a little over $7 bucks. so good. i see a lot of people get the biscuits and gravy and french toast. For lunch they offer all the deli standard sandwiches and meat and 2 sides type fare-- country fried steak, meatloaf, etc. Try their salmon cakes and fried cabbage. Mix of customers, during the workweek hip professionals in line behind blue collar workers in the know, weekends more of the young and hung over side by side with the after-church crowd. My only beef--- only one-- is their coffee could be darker/stronger. And the jam/preserves could be out of a jar and not those little plastic food service thingys. but who wants to bother with boring ol toast when you could have french toast, anyway! Stopped in for breakfast and must say I was surprised. When you go to a dive like this you are going for the food and service. Both of which are great at this restaurant. When you walk in it looks a bit like a cafeteria. They do have table service, but it appears you can go up to the counter and order take out. Don't expect fancy or even updated when you enter this place, and I am not sure why it is called Deli.... But the food was great and the price was even better. I ordered eggs with a side of biscuits and gravy and grits, I also added a pancake for good measure. The grits were a bit lumpy but everything else was perfect. The pancake was about the best one I have had. My friend ordered french toast and potato's, she was in heaven with the toast! The potato's were cooked old school style, sliced and fried with onions. (this brought back memories of the old electric skillet my dad used to make food in when I was growing up.) I love when I go to a place and a good childhood memory is dug up. The coffee was pretty good, parking is all over and easy. I really look forward to going back very soon for some another memorable breakfast! read more

I've only eaten breakfast here but it is the best hole in the wall diner in the Nap. What I enjoy most (beyond the outstanding breakfast specials that come out on three plates) is the diversity. It is the only place in Indy I know of where black and white, old and young, gay and straight are all in one place eating together. My favorite is the smokehouse breakfast featuring eggs over easy, potatoes (order crispy), bacon, and biscuits in gravy. It's been awhile since I'd been to Keystone Deli, and I'm wondering when they revamped their menu. It is more expensive and the food was not good. Our bill for breakfast for my wife, two small children and me was $33 not including the tip! The pancakes where good, but my Tex Mex scramble and my wife's omelet where small and had little ingredients. This is not what I remember from previous visits. There are a few other good breakfast places in the area that offer better ingredients for same or lower prices than the Keystone Deli. We will not be going back there, ever. read more

Stopped in for Breakfast 4th of July weekend and it was packed and after finishing our meal I know why. Yes it looks like a very basic every day diner but the food is great, the amounts are incredible and the staff is wonderful. Both my sister and Father took portions of thier meal home and well I could barley move. The quality was not only huge but wonderful. Fresh made biscuits made the BG wonderful. The meat choices were nice and well cooked. The menu isn't huge but offers plenty of meal choices. They only do breakfast and lunch. I have been eating breakfast at the Keystone Deli every weekend for many years. The food was great and the prices excellent. The deli is now under new ownership and I understand that change comes along with that. We were told shortly during the transition that the prices might even drop and still maintain good quality food. What? A better bargain, huh? Well now instead of four strips of bacon there's three along with an increase in price. Their wonderful large pancake for a for $1.00 now comes half size for a $1.50. Most options came with three eggs but now only two. I did love the brand of sausage previously served but that changed to a fatty brand that is less than desirable. The decor is a little more inviting, but $2.75 for a somewhat medium sized (they say large) glass of orange juice? Smaller plates with smaller servings. Did the new owners think we wouldn't notice? Last Sunday when there, only a scant number of customers were having breakfast or lunch. Hopefully the lack of patrons is telling the new owners that major changes in the quality of foods is not eventually profitable for what once was decent place with decent prices. The place is not a show place, but if you want the best country style breakfast in town, this is the place to go. Moved to Broad Ripple in 94, in the past ten years every time I have guests in town, we eat breakfast there at least once. Everyone always wants to go back when they are visiting. The decor is not fancy, but the food is great. The only complaint that I have ever had, is that they give you too much food. Would recommend it to anyone that likes a big breakfast at a very low price. You are paying for the food, not the tableclothes. And the staff are some of the friendliest in town. read more
