Went to the KFC yesterday on third and crump. The food was awful. I ordered the $9 box. The chicken nuggets were cold and hard. The mini chicken sandwiches appeared to be old that had been warmed up for sales. And I was told there was no ice for the drink. This is the third time I visited this location in the past six months. Each time I have lost money because the food was below par. They need to either close this location or improve on the quality of food they sale. I also had trash the food I bought at this location. This location not happy with. I went to the summer ave location at7:55 pm on 2/21/25 and ordered a honey hot 4 strip meal. The manager told me it will be 3 minutes wait. And ask me to pull up and she will bring my order out. So here it is 8:10 pm and no one comes out. Then I seen a worker though she was bring my order . But she decided to lay down in the setting area by the door of the drive through. So I knock on the door and asked about my order. As I pulled back to the drive through window the young lady told me 3 minutes. And so I waited. And here it goes 8:25pm and no order. Two bad experiences in a row. Last time the sides were wrong and the chicken was dry on the inside and super greasy on the outside. Today went there and was told there was a 16 minute wait for chicken. When you only have so many minutes for lunch you can't spend most of it waiting for something a fast food restaurant should have already cooked. Horrible place to stop. There is a 22 minute wait time on chicken, and they're telling everyone in front of me and everyone behind me the same thing. There are 6 cars pulled into another business' parking lot to wait for orders. Has no one figured out how to cook extra chicken here? It's always the same thing with this place. Horrible staff, horrible service, horrible wait times. I hate that I only complain on Yelp, but it's Memphis fast food, and glowing reviews are hard to produce here. Ordered through the app for a quick pickup. Drove up to the speaker and was greeted, gave them the name for order, no one said anything so we drove to the pickup window. A young lady opened the window, didn't say anything, hubby told her who we were and picking up an order. She closed the window, got our bag, handed it to him. Never said one word to us. Went to Summer Ave location. Tried to order 2 chicken tender combo meals that had a price board price of $6.50 which would have totalled $13.00 plus tax.I was charged 18.50. The cashier could not explain why there was such a price difference. I told him the price advertised on the board should have been honored. I really did not get a response except that the price has changed. Why has the board prices that the customer sees changed yet. Comes across as false advertising. I have found this happening at other restaurants in Memphis. People really need to look at their receipts.You never know anymore if employees are pocketing the extra money a little bit at a time.I got my refund and left. Will not return. read more

You have to actively try to make the food taste this bad. My famous bowl did not have gravy and the chicken is so bad it's hard to chew.

Last time I ever visit this location. Chicken was greasy and over-cooked. Out of nearly every item we tried to order. Got home and half the order was wrong. Slow. Window attendant barely said two words even though we were trying to be friendly. This location would make a nice spot for a KFC; just not this one. It was a big order so I ordered online at 1:30pm, to give them plenty of time to prepare it. I called them to confirm at about 1:50pm and was told they won't begin working on it until I arrive, making it pointless to order in advance. I got there around 2:30 and waited until around 3:30 to receive my order. (2- 16pc buckets & 24 biscuits) I arrived home and found the biscuits were crushed, some looked like they were intentionally crushed in a fist, of 32 pieces of chicken, there were at least 22 wings and zero breasts, it was almost all wings and legs. All soggy within a half hour. My party was very disappointed at the quality and lack of variety. I'll order popeye's next time. Allow me to add, I was very kind and patient with the staff, even though they told me that I wasted my time ordering online, two hour to fill an order is unacceptable, one of those hours I spent in the restaurant waiting for it to be prepared. I should've known it was all wings because they fit everything in 2 buckets, and there's no way 32 pieces evenly mixed would've fit. The Colonel would be ashamed of this staff. $85 wasted, and about 12 adults who will never use that KFC restaurant again. read more

Wow only giving one star so I could write a review. KFC should drop it's ad campaigns and focus on clean restaurants and training their employees in manners and general dealing with the public. This is my second time at this location and the first time I just figured was a bad day. Today I stopped and first was told that I couldn't order through the drive through. Having just had dental work done, I just wanted mashed potatoes and gravy and a drink. I watched this woman be rude to several customers before taking my simple order. Potatoes and a drink should be simple. Given the wrong sized drink and a barely filled order of potatoes and gravy. These employees are the reason that minimum wage should not be increased read more

This is the fourth time we have been to this particular Kentucky Fried Chicken most of the time they just do something simple like leave off the biscuits with the cookies but for the past two times they absolutely refused to give us extra crispy chicken will you come home and we get regular recipe. Several times I have been and they are out of thighs. When asking how long they give you a standard answer of 6 to 8 minutes when they haven't started a new batch. I have chosen to wait before and it ends up being 20 minutes or longer. They are a chicken place, they sell chicken, the should keep an eye on the pieces they have cooked and when it gets low, make more, very simple. Last two times I have been able to get the thighs, I could not place what cut it actually was, it had rib bones, not the two large bones that are in thighs. I'm really not a fan of this KFC, every single time I've been I have been treated very rudely by the employees. To me the food tastes like every other KFC, so I'm not nitpicking picking this KFC for thier food, I think the food is great. It's the employees that makes me not want to come here. For small example, I came to this KFC about two weeks ago because I was in the neighborhood, and I ordered a family bucket, wouldnt you know it, they were out of breast... ok that's fine, but the "boss on duty" that night pretty much made it clear he did not want me or the other customer behind me in there, in fact I do believe the other customer told him that he doesn't even want to be served because of his attitude. read more

I just oredered a five doller fillerup pot pie meal. There was not one piece of chicken in the pot pie. When I went into get my money back one of the employees said, " those are pies left over from last nigh, but we keep them refrigerated." The manager said, "That's not true." This place has a bad habit of re-deep fat frying their chicken when it's old and cold. This was the second time I went to this location and, while I have no expectations of fine dining at a KFC, this location manages to turn mediocre into awful. Got the $5 Breast Fill-Up this time. As a former restaurant cook, I know exactly what happens to food when you deep fry it a second time, so knew this was the case with the chicken. (Last time I got the Go Cup. Same issue with both the chicken AND the potatoes). It was predictably too dark, and way, way greazy. There was no cookie in my order, which I didn't realize until I got home and opened the box. The girl at the Take Out window did apologize profusely to me as I picked the order up -- now I know why, although in the moment it was baffling since she hadn't given me my order yet when she did so. I can't say as I've had any problem with the staff encountered there. This seems to be a management issue. Wish they'd fix it. read more

I only gave this a one because I did not have a chose in picking "zero". My husband & I have gone to this KFC for years & now they have a new manager there that is extremely rude & uncaring. Several weeks ago he left the cream potatoes out of my order & I called back to let them know. The person that answered the phone stated he never leaves anything out of the orders. I then asked to speak to a manager & he stated very loud & rude, "I AM THE MANAGER". I then tried to explain that he did leave my cream potatoes out but I did receive the gravy. He again stated he did not. Last Saturday (10/6/18), my husband went there to get 2 extra crispy chicken breast meals like we always do & he came back with hot. They told him they no longer carry extra crispy but only extra spicy. I tried eating it & developed a major headache the rest of the day as well as diarrhea later that day & into the night. I called today (10/13/18) to see if maybe they were just out of the crispy last weekend & I could tell by his voice that it was the rude manager. He stated, "We only carry Spicy Crispy Chicken". I will never go to this KFC again. It was the worst experience I have had in a long time. Therefore I called the main KFC headquarters @ 800-225-5532 & filed a complaint.
