Great ambiance! Can't find my pictures of the cocktails! Very good! Soul egg rolls !! I love them .. service was great!

Came here for a night cap. I thought there was supposed to be a live DJ on Saturday night but maybe the flyer I saw was wrong. Anywho, ordered the fried shrimp and hot wings (both so so good!). Also ordered The Crew and Strawberry Hennessy cocktails. Both cocktails were syrupy so we couldn't catch the flavor of the ingredients as a unit. The restaurant is very intimate and well decorated. Our server, Jessica, was perfect. She introduced herself, answered questions about the menu, checked on us just enough and cleared our dishes so we could enjoy our drinks and conversation. I'd come back to taste their entrees.

This wasn't my first time at Sage and probably won't be the last. In town with friends, we decided to stop in Sage for a quick bit. They were just reopening for the day and decided to sit at the bar. My friend ordered the salad, which was a good portion size. I had the wings and fries to sober up and the season on the wings?!? OMG they need to bottle it and sell it!! Our server, was good, my friends had a strawberry Hennessy and it was good, yes I tasted it! The music was really low but overall it was a good vibe.

Sage is great. I've been both for happy hour and brunch. I always sit at the bar, the service is top tier. They're churning out consistently great food. The soul rolls and wings are always a hit, and the drinks are always strong! Give them a try

Popped in on a Sunday afternoon and was immediately seated...party of 1 benefit. I LOVE the decor... they really livened up the place. It has a restaurant / lounge feel with exposed vents and concrete flooring, but they've added greenery and sage green accents throughout. They had a great music playlist going, TVs showing black sitcoms, great customers, and delicious food. I had the brioche French Toast and turkey sausage, along with a couple of mimosas. Overall, the food was excellent! The turkey sausage wasn't salty and had excellent flavor and seasoning, and the French Toast was cooked really well. The mimosas had a good kick to them... I had one, ordered another, and then immediately regretted ordering a second because I started to feel my first one. If you are a fan of great food, this is a must try. It's walking distance in downtown and on a bit of a secluded street (on a Sunday). It also helps that it is black-owned if you are partial to wanting to support. I only deducted 1 start because I think of much thicker French toast when I hear brioche. I don't live in the area and did see the pics online. I was a little worried, but the French Toast really was excellent regardless! Tips: They add a service charge for cards, and the tip is included, regardless of party size Read your receipts. Kudos Sage! I loved it!

This restaurant came highly recommended so I was excited about checking it out. They open at 11am and we were standing by the door at 10:50am because we wasn't sure of the layout. When they opened the door people came out of no where, we looked up and the place was packed in less than 15minutes. We started with a carafe of Mimosa which was a nice mixture it was actually pretty good so we ordered another one. Most of the dishes are waffles or biscuits. We tried the soul waffle stuffed with Chicken, mac & cheese, collard greens. It taste like a crispy stuffed funnel cake. It was unique and good. I ordered the chicken and waffles and the chicken stood out more than the waffle. I'm not sure if it was because the waffle taste bland or because the chicken was really tasty and crispy. Either way the entree was good. Great presentation. Shrimp and grits was prepared really good and it didn't have a lot of unnecessary sauce it had the perfect blend. I understand why this place gets packed. The food was delicious and it wasn't overpriced.

Insanely delicious! We tried the fried cauliflower and peach cobbler as well as what is pictured (pan seared chicken and fish/chips). It was all delicious. Service was great, vibe was cool. Definitely making this a regular spot.

Food was ok. Had the oowee rolls, only 2 full rolls cut in half, not fully filled, but flavorful. I also had the catfish burger, the catfish needed more seasoning, but the sweet potato fries were good. Hubby had the shrimp and grits and he enjoyed them. IMO, they had more flavor than the catfish. The music was fire. The seating is pretty close, you could hear the conversation of the table next to you. There are single restrooms and the ladies room was clean. Service was good.

Do you all offer private dining?

While I'm not 100% certain, the space is rather small with a very open floor concept! They didn't appear to have any closed off areas! Double check though to be sure!

Does this restaurant serve non-alcoholic beverages?

Yea they do. They also have one infused with CBD!

The food however was honestly meh (in my opinion). I got a creole dish and to be fair my dish looked beautiful. The plating was 10/10 but the taste for me left something to be desired. After eating this dish I questioned if I even like creole sauce because it really just wasn't that good. If this is a preference issue, I honestly don't know. I also thought the charcuterie appetizer had a weird mix of items on it from club crackers, to meat and cheese, and random veggies. Not bad but just kind of a weird mix. My husband ordered the salmon and he said it was good, not the best he's had but it was good. Other friends of ours got the white fish among the many other dishes. I did have a salad with these apples on it which was incredibly yummy. I will say though my dish looked amazing some of the other dishes were not plated well. Not to nitpick but to want to be considered a more upscale restaurant which means charging guest more money than say a local Applebee's then knowing how to appropriately garnish or drizzle sauce to elevate at plate is important (see my picture of the chicken dish). All and all not my favorite restaurant but definitely not the worst!!

The bar tender greeted us warmly, and told us we could sit anywhere we liked, so we chose a cozy, comfy corner booth. Hubby loved his Sweet Tea, "just right". When we finished that, we poured the Asian dressing over the plentiful Arugula salad. We shared a Trio of tender, juicy Certified Angus sliders. Wow! Hubby said that's the best dang slider I ever ate! I agree! The shoestring fries were perfectly fried and seasoned. Love that you can get up to six sliders. One of the Worst Customer Service Experiences I've Had After…read moreattending a Pride event and visiting from out of town, my friend and I stopped by Bar Dogs late at night/early in the morning on June 7th, hoping to grab some food before heading back to our hotel. Unfortunately, we were met with one of the rudest bartenders I've ever encountered. As soon as we sat down at the bar, the bartender--a Caucasian woman with a short haircut whose name I unfortunately didn't get--greeted us with an attitude that immediately made us feel unwelcome. Instead of providing friendly service, she was dismissive, impatient, and rushed us through placing our to-go order. She informed us that we could not eat at the bar, which was completely fine. We agreed without any issue and ordered our food to go. However, when my food arrived, I simply opened the container to make sure my order was correct before leaving. She immediately rushed back over and aggressively said, "Didn't I tell you that you could not eat at the bar?" I hadn't taken a single bite--I was only checking my order. Rather than politely clarifying the policy, she continued to scold us and make us feel like we were inconveniencing her simply by being there. We still hadn't even received my friend's food, yet she seemed more interested in lecturing us than providing basic customer service. Once my friend's food finally arrived, we left as quickly as possible. As visitors in town celebrating Pride, we expected a welcoming atmosphere and basic courtesy. Instead, we experienced hostility, impatience, and a complete lack of professionalism. There's a huge difference between enforcing a policy and treating customers with disrespect, and this bartender clearly doesn't understand that distinction. The food may have been fine, but the service was so unpleasant that I would never return or recommend Bar Dogs to anyone looking for a friendly place to eat or have a drink. Customer service training is desperately needed.

After leaving a nearby bar, our group stopped in simply looking for food. The restaurant was virtually empty, yet the manager, Charles, insisted that if any of us sat near one another, we would be considered one large party and could only have one check. I explained that we had no problem sitting at separate tables, and each table would gladly have a single check. That should have solved the issue. Instead, Charles instructed an inexperienced and unprofessional server to scatter us throughout the restaurant and warned that if we interacted between tables, we would still be treated as one party. From a management standpoint, this decision made no sense. Rather than maximizing an opportunity to generate significant revenue, leadership chose to create unnecessary obstacles. Ironically, spreading us throughout the restaurant would have required opening multiple sections, increasing the workload on servers and support staff instead of simplifying operations. Leadership sets the tone for a business. Good managers solve problems and create positive guest experiences. They don't create barriers that send paying customers elsewhere. At the end of the day, every business has one primary objective: to generate revenue while providing excellent customer service. Unfortunately, this experience demonstrated poor judgment, inflexible leadership, and a missed opportunity to earn the business of 24 guests who simply wanted a meal. I hope Curfew reevaluates this approach because customer service, common sense, and hospitality should always work together.

They had a burger of the day, and a food special of the day, but I settled on the wings. With those I chose the 10 pc, Buffalo with dry rub, smoked.
