Lunch Review Stopped by KFC for lunch today 10/27/24 around 1:00 PM and tried the KFC $5 - Piece Original Recipe Tenders Box served with fries and two dipping sauces. First, I agree with some of the other reviews, the service needs improvement. With only two customers ahead of me in the lobby, it took about 15 minutes to place and receive my order. The dining room was clean and huge with ample seating for a crowd. The chicken tenders were properly cooked with just the right touch of crispness; the tenders were fresh, hot, and juicy. I just love the taste of the original recipe, and the flavor came through in the tenders. The Secret Recipe fries were hot, crispy, and tasted great. KFC, this is unacceptable. I purchased a family meal and received chicken that looked like it was cooked in old oil, cold fries, and no biscuits at all. I tried calling the location and couldn't get anyone on the phone. Families work too hard for their money to receive service and food like this. Please do better. read more

Honestly when I'm in the mood for fried chicken I normally go to the Popeye's next door, but sometimes I just have a hankering for KFC's extra-crispy recipe. Such was the case tonight. I got the 4 piece chicken meal (breast, thigh, drum, wing) with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy and a sweet tea. Everything was great. The chicken was warm n crunchy. The mashed potatoes and gravy tasted like a delicious lil heart attack in a tiny microwaveable container (ironically I save these containers to carry pills and vitamins when I'm on the go). The sweet tea was just the right amount of sweet. The only dud was the biscuit which was dry and bland. Staff were wearing masks of the bring-your-own variety. Chicken and fries are way too salty. Fries were not hot and were neither crispy or potato filled. I can't eat here anymore.

Very disappointing. The employees were friendly...no complaints there. The food was very mediocre. The mashed potatoes were dry even with gravy on them. The fried chicken tasted like it had been cooked long ago. They had no butter for the biscuits. There only option for diet drinks was Diet Pepsi. They had unsweet tea, but no sweeteners for it for those who can't use sugar. If you don't like unsweet tea or Pepsi you get to pay for a drink in a combo meal and get stuck with water. It wasn't just me. When I was there other people were asking for butter or sweeteners. It ended up eating one piece of chicken and throwing the rest away. I'd have given one star if the employees had been unfriendly, but they earned the extra star. read more

I've been to this restaurant twice in the last week. The first time I waited in the drive through for 10 minutes before getting to the microphone to hear that they were out of chicken. I just wanted a large coleslaw so I drove around and went in to order. after another 8 minutes or so no one was covering the walk in customers so I gave up and left. My second visit today to try to buy that coleslaw was similar but I stayed until I could get service. The person who took my order looked very tired and stressed. Clearly the understaffing of this restaurant has reached a critical level. Poor service but I don't blame the staff. This is a serious management problem. Two stars may be generous. read more

Decided to visit KFC since the line next door at Popeyes was too long and I honestly wish I would've just waited in the Popeyes line. This poor decision snowballed and let's just say--I was still hungry after it was all over. The drive thru line was pretty slow even though there were only two vehicles ahead of me. The employees were nice, which is the reason for one of the two stars. Now let's get to the important part--the food. For some reason, I thought it would be a good idea to test the new Kentucky Fried Wings in the buffalo flavor and let's just say; it was a terrible decision. The wings were absolutely disgusting; very fatty and you could barely tell the difference between the "flat" and the "drum." I doubt they were served fresh because of the temperature but even if they had been, I'm sure they would have still been gross. Apparently they were supposed to come with ranch that I didn't receive and quite frankly it wouldn't have mattered anyway since I didn't eat them. The other star in this review is for the potato wedges. Not sure that I'll visit this KFC again but I am completely sure that I'll never order their wings again. read more

I want to commend the staff at this KFC. I stopped in around noon today. They were super friendly and fast. We have just recently moved to Tallahassee and have stopped at this location three times since we have been here. Each time the service and the food have been great! read more

This KFC has undergone a complete remodel. The inside definitely looks better but the team there appears to be pretty much the same folks who do not care to clean the stations or tables on a regular basis and really appear half heartedly willing to do their job. I love KFC fried chicken so I give this a three but the reality is the chicken is not consistently cooked and there is a ton of opportunity for improvement. They are there with fresh surroundings - would t take a lot to raise this review considerably!! read more

I was happy to see KFC open back up. I love the original fryed chicken. But was so disappointed. Maybe at 3:30 they just finished a rush time. But with over nine employees standing around I not able to explain the mash potatoes on the selfserve bar. No cole slaw, four pieces of chicken to pick from, dryed out mash potatoes, gravy frayed up. Sweet potatoes cold, string beans funny tasting. Drink area had drink splashed everywhere with a heap of ice making it difficult to get a drink with ice. 6 employees sitting in dining room visiting and eating. It was not a 5 star before but now it is much worse. I am so disappointed. :( read more

FYI to vegan/vegetarians re Beyond Chicken nuggets: Thanks to KFC for adding BEYOND CHICKEN NUGGETS to the menu‼ The person who answers the phone at the Ap. Parkway location told me they fry them in same oil as the real chicken. The phone person at KFC on N Monroe assures me they fry them separately. So special thanks from a veg head to the N. Monroe KFC! I'll post another review after I try the KFC Beyond Chicken nuggets. read more

I rarely get over to the Apalachee Parkway-Capital Circle KFC, but I was in the market for a new recliner, so I found myself in the neighborhood. I grew up in Kentucky, so KFC was a common staple in my life, but it had been ages since I'd had KFC. I was very eager to sink my teeth into that 11 herbs and spices coated bird! I had seen all the TV ads for their $5 Fill ups so decided to order the 2 pc Dark with biscuit and mashed potatoes with gravy, getting it to-go, ordering from inside the restaurant. The staff was nice and friendly and I had my food in a brief matter of minutes. I took my boxed meal and drink and returned to my car. The box was a disappointment from the moment I opened it. The drumstick was so small and boney it looked like it came off a Cornish game hen. The mashed potato container was overfilled, the lid was smashed down on it, and gravy was spilled out all over the container and inside the box, making my chicken thigh a complete mess. Even the fountain drink tasted as if the Co2 was heavy in the mix. This meal I had been looking forward to for so long was a disgusting disappointment! I managed to choke down the very dry biscuit and a couple of bites from the thigh (gravy and all!), then pitched the box and its contents into the nearest trash bin! Had I not been in such a hurry, I would have taken the meal back in and asked for either a refund or a new meal. Unfortunately, I did not have time to wait for new food to be prepared. Overall great. The place is very nice and tidy. The mashed potatoes had some taste like mild soap, but they were very hot as in steam, chicken was not very hot , warm. Biscuit was ok,but not soft fresh. Food was pretty good. Same cadhier, fails to greet or smile at customers.. read more

Stopped here with the family for the buffet. Do Not eat here. The buffet was disgusting and it was obvious the little bit of food that was out had been there for a while. There was only two pieces of chicken available. KFC should do a favor for their customers and shut down that buffet. read more

No Original Recipe. 10 to 15-minute wait for them to make some. This is the third time IN A ROW that I visited this KFC and they were all out of KFfreakin'C!! Do they not know what the C in KFC stands for? So I didn't get any of the chicken that made Col. Sanders famous, the very thing that launched the business, the foundation of their success. Instead I was given the options of getting their grilled chicken instead (i didn't think about it until now, but they did not give me the choice of their crunchy chicken. It's safe to assume they were out of that as well), driving to another restaurant when I went out of my way to come to this one, or heading to my foodless home empty handed. Or waiting 10-15 minutes to get what I came for. I chose the grilled version. On the plus side, they have improved the quality of their grilled chicken tremendously since they first introduced it. On the other hand, if I wanted grilled or roasted chicken I know several other places where I can get better examples. P.S. You know KFC flavors their grilled chicken with beef fat right? If I could give less stars I would, lady at drive through was rude from get go, then when I goto the window wasn't much better. I paid for my food and went home, got him e to find that my mashed potatoes and gravy were lacking gravy. So I call and the lady didn't even know how to handle it, so I asked to speak with a manager and was kept waiting until I finally hung up the phone.
