Terrible service. The cashier didn't even bother saying anything except my total. I understand he had a broken arm but he was being completely rude to me and his co-workers. I don't know why I ever order from this KFC anymore. Not a single time have they ever gotten my order right. The people that work here are disturbingly obsessed with coleslaw I only assume because no matter how many times I do not order coleslaw I receive their coleslaw. I ordered on Postmates and not only did they not put in any of the sauces I added to my order, but they left out an entire order of hot wings. As if that weren't enough instead of the fries that were on my order, I received--you guessed it--coleslaw! The staff when I do go in are always rude and honestly missing some brain cells as when I ask them to give me the correct items they are extremely confused. Obviously a low rating on a fast food restaurant means they've screwed up enough that enough people care enough to expect better from a fast food restaurant. Got home and discovered items I had ordered were missing to the tune of about $10. This same problem happened to me back in March: Insufficient staff and items missing from my order which I didn't discover until I arrived home. I don't fault the harried workers on the front line. I fault the management (assuming there is any). This place rates one star, but I gave it two because the food is good. Find another location if you can. Small but typical KFC location, with a shitty, hard to use parking lot. The lines are usually short and the staff are polite and professional. Restaurant is clean and there have always been enough tables in the small place for the number of customers when I visit on weekdays at lunch. As we were waiting for our food we noticed that a single woman who had been there when we walked in was still waiting for her order. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. This location is horrible. My boyfriend and I went in at around 8pm tonight. Was met by a stone faced employee who gave us attitude for asking for time before we ordered, because we didn't know what we wanted yet. When we finally did order, we waited... And waited... And waited... For 30 minutes. I repeat: 30 minutes. It was not busy at all. There were only two other people in the restaurant. My boyfriend finally went up to the counter to ask what was taking them so long. They never started our order. The manager laughed at our situation and didn't apologize. He gave us our order, which turned out to be cold. He gave us free drinks to try and make up for it but I don't think it's needed to say that we will not be returning to this location. I walked in kinda pissed off so I thought I was just gonna go in there grab my chicken and leave. Thankfully the cashier who greeted me was kind, helpful, and was the kinda guy that would help the customer no questions asked. His name was Christian. He didn't say much to me and i didn't say much to him but through the small interaction we had that only lasted a few minutes the hospitality and determination on that kid really caught me off guard. This is the closest KFC to people from Newbury Park; though not far, it's not really convenient for "fast food". The place is clean and well-kept since it is in Thousand Oaks which doesn't have many "rundown" places. The parking lot is somewhat small especially if during lunch and dinner periods but manageable. Food is usually fresh and hot here. Its fried chicken so you can't really mess that up especially following corporate procedures. Only on a few occasions the grilled chicken was extremely dry but that's expected with grilled over fried. The staff is somewhat friendly, not expecting over-the-top service, but it can be poor at times. Even management seems to not have things under control when its busy. Everyone running around and the wait times during peak hours have lasted 20-25 min lines. This is really what knocks down the stars due to slow and inefficient service. But if you're craving fried chicken, this is better than nothing. read more

I went in during the "Oprah" free chicken promotion, when they were actually accepting the coupons. The staff was friendly, courteous and well, doing pretty good with the constant stream of people. (The line was at least 10 people at all times I was there.) The food was OK in general. Was disappointed that while they carried Pepsi products, there was no Mountain Dew nor was there regular Ice Tea (just Peach.) The "Grilled" chicken was a bit slimy though so I probably wouldn't have that a second time. Parking was crowded, but I am not sure if it was just due to the promotion. This location is a stand-alone KFC, and does not have an A&W or other restaurant mixed in, as does the KFC in SImi Valley, CA does. read more

How stupid do you have to be to work in a place that only carries one main type of food (chicken) and still get orders wrong?? My husband ordered 2 chicken breasts, 5 drumstick and a large container of mashed potatoes and large green beans. When we unwrapped the order the only thing that was correct were the 5 drumsticks, the other box contained 1 wing, and one unidentifiable that looked like a complete back bone with hardly any meat. We did not get the large potatoes and beans, but one each of the tiny containers that usually come with the box meals. To make matters worse we were charged for 2 breasts. The wing and backbone piece were both bone dry. This is unacceptable and not the first time that our order was messed up! Is it really the customers job to check the order before leaving?? My recent visit to KFC was a huge disappointment! The meat was incredibly dry AND the chicken pieces were quite small, especially the wings! Wings were same size as a Splenda sugar packet!! This is a great KFC I told them I have my toddler and a newborn in the car and due to the fact there is no drive-through it's really hard for me to get the kids out of the car and come in and pick up our meal. They were so sweet and the gentleman who answered the phone took my order and had another employee come out and get my credit card while I was in the parking spot to ring up my order and they brought me my food to my car.
