My wife and I each ordered the 20 piece wings for their $20 special promotion today. The spicy wings were good and had a good spicy kick to it, but the wing size is on the small side. Good breading to chicken ratio, but the entire chicken pieces need to be larger, IMHO. Even BonChon chicken can give larger piece wings. The bbq wings were fried and then they dump the whole batch in a very liquified bbq sauce pan, then they fish it back up and put it in the container for you. Due to this, the bbq wings will be soggy (especially if you are getting takeout like I did). Flavor wise, it tastes just like their bbq dip but more holistically surrounding the chicken, and more evenly. I'd rather just have the crispy chicken and then dunk them individually in a bbq dip once I'm at home to preserve crispness. $20 for 20 pieces is decent, though. There is a small parking lot outside but maneuvering is a nightmare, especially when there are cars that are parked sideways across 3 spots...why!!! The inside is very small with just a few tables. Staff is okay in terms of friendliness. They are not the most efficient and attentive but once you get their attention, things move along quicker. read more

All my experiences at this location have gone really well. The order has always been accurate, food tastes delicious, and the staff is helpful. They also have some great promotions and deals. I had a business trip to the Boston/Waltham area and after a long day of flying and then working at the office, I was exhausted. I went to my hotel room, unpacked and decided to just have something delivered to my room. I went on Uber Eats and saw KFC, and said yeah I can use some fried chicken. I was famished, so I got a 4 piece extra crispy meal, fries, mashed potatoes and a coke. The driver didn't take long to get to the hotel and I dug in. The meal was what you would expect from KFC, but since I was starving, it hit the spot. My only gripe were that the fries were cold and wilty. Went back to get the tenders and they gave me the thinnest tenders possible. The employees at this location are rude and don't care about mixing up orders. Never going back to KFC ever again. If you're craving it go to the Allston KFC. The one is Waltham is an absolute horror show. The ordering process was easy with Grubhub being the application to facilitate cashless payment and pickup. However, on both occasions the orders were approximately 10 minutes late. It makes me wonder if I showed up and ordered at the register if that would have been just as quick...or should I say slow? At least the meals were hot and survived the short ride home to feed some hungry folks. Wife went in for dinner to bring home and ask for no breast. She got home and what do you know we got all breast lol. I used to work for KFC in 84 and became assistant manager at the waltham location. My chicken never looked like what it looks like now. My chicken was golden brown looking juicy. This chicken the extra crispy looks like it was cooked in old oil. The chicken was dark and dry probably sitting in the window several hrs before being served. We had to take chicken out like that and change it for new fresh chicken for the costumers to see something appetizing. My is going back with the rest of the chicken and giving her 2 cents while I write my dollars Worth complaint lol. I'm hoping some day they can get it right. Place even got smaller less seating why ? I've been going to this KFC for two years now and I've learned that you have to check before leaving every time. I got lax and didn't check today and got home to find that my 3-piece meal is all thighs and they forgot the coleslaw. I just don't know how anyone can be so awful at their job. Then look no further than this glorious KFC location which will help you cleanout your system in no time and at no additional charge! This window-less, sad excuse of a building is located on Waltham's Main Street and is in a not-so-dense urban area of town where there's a lot of car traffic and not so many residents. Carlos behind the counter wasn't particularly knowledgeable, or friendly, and offered no help as we tried to order. Instead he mumbled a couple of words, none of them relevant to our interaction. The menu was confusing and the manager didn't notice Carlos's lack of heroics, or assistance and just stared at us. Eventually we pieced things together and managed to place our order. My buddy and I went with the $20 family fill-up, which features 8 pieces of chicken, 4 biscuits, some mashed potatoes, some gravy and some coleslaw. We went with crispy chicken over original, paid, and waited about 5 minutes for our food to be ready before heading home to devour our loot. The chicken tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for about six months. It wasn't particularly juicy and the breading couldn't have been any soggier. The biscuits were bone-dry and not particularly flaky and the mashed potatoes weren't any better, even with the addition of some of the intense black pepper gravy. The coleslaw was the only redeeming factor and even that was still a pretty bad side dish. So yeah, unless you're absolutely starving and that's your only option... just starve. Seriously this place is awful and I can't think of any positives except maybe that if you wash your chicken's bucket about a dozen times or so to get rid of all of that grease, then maybe you can reuse for something neat. That said, always get your KFC to go from this location. The inside is extremely dimly lit, and there's only one window in the restaurant, which is covered with advertisements about how you can get a lot of chicken for not that much money. The net result is that the inside is very depressing. The parking lot doubles as a demolition derby. People coming in the out, parking across two spots, blocking other cars in, pulling up on the sidewalk. I guess some people find the chicken so delicious that they disregard public safety and all forms of marked parking lines. Sometimes if you are lucky you get to stand outside and watch the parking lot demo derby because the line stretches out the door. It is dimly lit like others said but I think that's good, I don't want to see the floor my feet are sticking to, I feel like I have a really bad hangover when I'm in the store...
