Popeyes is a nationwide fast-food chain famous for its Louisiana-style fried chicken with Cajun seasonings, but my personal experience didn't quite live up to the hype. For me, the fried chicken has consistently been too greasy and heavy, feeling overly indulgent every time I eat it. I do agree that their sauces are a strong point, they have a wide variety, and the sauces like Blackened ranch are good. In the end, it can be a decent option in the area if you're really craving it, but due to how heavy it feels, it's never my first choice for fried chicken.

Finally, a Popeyes closer by! Plenty of onsite parking in the sizeable lot, right next to Bertucci's and a Starbucks. There is NO FRONT DESK for you to order. You order on a machine or prior hand via their app or website. That means if you prefer more thighs instead of wings (or anything like that) you're out of luck. You get what you get. Service is super slow here despite a ton of staff working here the couple of times I've went there. Definitely order ahead. However, the staff are friendly. The fried chicken is tasty, as are their wings. Meat is tender and the skin is crispy. Mac and cheese is good. Cajun fries were a miss for us as it was not crispy at all, so I'd skip it. I also tried their tenders (regular and spicy) and they were not good. Tasted dry and bland with no crisp. I'd skip those.

Great chicken sandwich on a soft brioche bun. Food was good. Service at the store is a little chaotic. It looks like a take-out only store. Lots of delivery app drivers up front waiting for their orders to be called.

I have been waiting not-so patiently for this location to open. Finally!....its open, hallelujah! This small location is located in Newton Corner in the Bertuccis parking lot. This is like a mini version of the other Popeyes I've been to. It's one small room with 3 ordering kiosks and a pickup window. There are no live human ordering registers, it's all done thru kiosk. There is seating for 3 against the front window and THE longest hallway, that I think? Leads to restrooms? I went in the late afternoon so it wasn't too busy but I can imagine it being super chaotic during lunch and dinner. I think the key is to order ahead! We didn't have to wait too long but you could tell they are still trying to find their stride. The gentleman expediting the food was doing a great job while doing a million things at once. Our chicken sandwiches were great! I love how it's so crunchy and not super greasy and has a nice little wrapper to keep your hands clean. The fries didn't stay crispy due to a long car ride but they still tasted great and love their ranch dressing!

(12$) Was ready in about 15ish minutes. Maybe even faster since it was done when I got there. I ordered online. Very easy system. The sub did end up being pretty large for a "small" and I got two meals out of it. Delicious, piping hot. Solid eggplant parm. Sauce and eggplant were delicious. Bread wasn't soggy. The employees were very nice when I picked it up. Some indoor seating. Think this is mostly a takeout spot though. Everything seems pretty customizable too. The sandwiches all had the option to come on a wrap instead. Large menu- pizza, salad, calzones, wings, etc. the list goes on... Overall, great menu, cheap, tasty food, and large portions. What more could you ask for.

The corner of a busy street with apartments above and other businesses close by. When I went in, there were 4 other customers. I noticed a big sub that one of the customers was eating. It looked good but I was there for the pizza and only the pizza! I did not call ahead so I got two slices, which were heated up by the clerk. I got a drink, as well. The pizza was out pretty quickly and I was excited to taste it. The one issue is was that it was really hot. I waited and finally took a bite. The pizza (see pic) was very thin and somewhat greasy. I blame the grease on the fact that it was a slice and not a fresh full pizza. I am not sure if I am right, but that was what it seemed like. The slices were good size and a solid taste. I liked it. I would like to buy a full pizza to decide if Ziggy's belongs in the top 10 in Mass. I think that is only fair. I gave 4 stars.....that could change if I am able to make another visit Price: Fair (9.00 for two slices and a drink) Vibe: customer friendly & local Pepsi/Coke: Coke Service: great...fast

Separately, each sandwich is around $10 and onion rings are $6.50, so the combo is a ridiculous deal. The onion rings are also a HUGE bag so definitely worth the money. For my 2 sandwiches, I got the Honey Kluck Grilled Sandwich and Tang-Go Kluck Sandwich and both were great. The fried chicken here doesn't really feel like fast food - it feels like real chicken meat that isn't greasy at all. The seasoning is good and the sauces are great too. Even the buns felt like good quality! Of the two sandwiches, I preferred the Honey Kluck Grilled Sandwich but both were top tier. The honey sandwich had honey mustard sauce and veggies with a nicely grilled piece of chicken on it. The balance of flavors and fresh veggies with the flavorful chicken was just perfect. 5/5 for sure. The Tang-Go Kluck Sandwich was also very good with a tangy sauce coupled with cheese and pickles. The fried chicken on this was crispy and full of flavor without feeling unhealthy. I would have liked a few more veggies on here, but it was still a solid sandwich. The onion rings were SO CRISPY too. And the bag was huge - probably at least a full onion. The fact that if you ordered 2 sandwiches and onion rings separately, it would cost about $26 but the combo is only around $17 is great value. The food doesn't feel like fast food, and I was completely full after eating the meal. 5/5 would definitely return!

Both of us got combo platters with, between us, had a variation of wings, ribs, pulled pork, cole slaw, mashed potatoes and fries. I am guessing this restaurant is trying to make things "their own" by going an non-traditional route with some things and I'm usually fine with that - if I know it in advance. Cole slaw, while it had good flavor, was very heavy on the mayo and contained very large pieces of onion which is not common. I know far too many that don't like onions and this would have been an unpleasant surprise. The mashed had a good flavor as well (but woah, a TINY side that was the same portion as the cole slaw) but it had a spice to it in there - no clue what it was but, again, would have been a huge no to folks like my mother, my kids, etc. Onto the meats. They were OK but so dry if you don't opt to add in some of the sauces. The sauce offerings seemed a little different to us so we went with the "Classic BBQ" and frankly, we both hated it. It seems to have a "Hunts tomato sauce" base. That's exactly what it tasted like. Hunts tomato sauce. I wish I knew it was a tomato sauce base (or tasted like it) because it's very thin and heavy on the tomato flavor. Since we didn't like the sauce, our meats were SO dry b/c they had no sauce on them. Anywho - someone next to us ordered a sirloin, I believe, it looked great. Maybe we just went for the wrong thing. But I could not get that BBQ taste out of my mouth all night. Two 2 meat combos (with $1 upcharge for ribs), one appetizer (queso), a diet soda and 2 Bud Lights ($10 ea!) came to just over $90 before gratuity. We came here while crushing some time while our older son was at an activity and we have to repeat this in a couple of weeks. We will not be back here... we'll have to find another place to spend some time and have dinner. Again, service was TOP NOTCH - no complaints about service. But the food left a lot to be desired. We had higher expectations for sure.
