This place is tiny and located in a half empty aging strip center mall. Ignore all that and go. The menu more than compensates with listings in both Japanese and Thai cuisines. And the lunch specials are wonderfully priced. We had good service from the busy and efficient waitress -- who covered the entire restaurant (taking phone orders at the same time) while the one guy behind the bar fixed sushi and chatted with customers. We both ordered from the Japanese lunch menu. He had their sushi special #D and I got their #F fish teriyaki and paid $2 more for salmon. Both lunches came with miso soup served first. It was very hot with bits of tofu and seaweed in it. Each box lunch had salad with ginger dressing; a California roll; and shrimp and vegetables tempura. There was also the usual wasabi and pickled ginger. A small dish of dipping sauce for the tempura was served on the side. His sushi consisted of three pieces: one each of salmon, tuna, and a white fish over rice. And my fish teriyaki was a small, but perfectly cooked piece of salmon in a light teriyaki sauce. There were quite a number of other options -- both on their lunch menu and their regular menu. But we could not pass up checking out the $12 ($14 for mine) special -- so very good and well worth the price. I'm sure we will return. This place is a keeper. read more

Sushi Rock is a quiet little restaurant in an unassuming building. Definitely looks a little sketchy but it delivers. As pictured I had the Gyoza, Yakiniku and Green Tea Ice Cream, as well as some Hot Sake. The standout here was the Yakiniku, which was perfect apart from my personal preference of a shorter grain of rice, but that's a nit pick. The onions and beef were cooked and marinated well. Not to dunk on the gyoza, which were also very well made. The sauce especially was great. Everything was plated beautifully and the owners clearly care about this place. It was well kept, the service was prompt and courteous. But I will say their prices skew towards the high end of the spectrum. I don't count that too harshly considering the experience was great, but it still is worth noting. I'd say it's a great spot for a date. It's quiet and has a nice ambiance. I plan on going back and trying their ramen at some point, so I'll update then. read more

There are a lot of items to choose from so if you come with someone that doesn't want to eat raw fish, there are options for them, too. Like most of the sushi places in Boca, they also serve Thai dishes here. We got the sashimi bento box that came with miso soup, salad, vegetable and shrimp tempura, California roll. It was a good amount of food but what I love about Japanese food is you don't feel stuffed for hours. We also got the tuna roll and sushi rock roll. The prices are pretty reasonable here. When the current 2020 situation kicked in and after a couple months some restaurants had pickup and delivery, I wanted to support some of the small restaurants that I thought had great food and service and could use the business. Sushi Rock is one I wanted to help. The first time I went in I had called ahead to see what precautions they were taking and they had many. The place felt very clean and safe. I felt especially lucky with picking up from them as they had told me on the phone they would let me take a boat home. It was great seeing my gals eyes as I walked in the door with a giant wooden boat covered in sushi. It was glorious. Not to mention the sushi itself was fantastic. How did I know I was going to have a great experience at Sushi Rock? All of their menu covers are record covers which goes with the name Sushi Rock. They have alot of selection for lunch time including Thai and Japanese specials. My dad got his food first and I'll admit it, I was having a case of food envy with his chicken and steak teriyaki. They didn't do skimp on pieces of meat and it was loaded with tons of veggies! I got the #4 Special with sushi, sashimi and shrimp tempura and again--they don't skimp on their portions. I got all of that plus with the shrimp tempura they give you an odd but lovely mixture of fried delights such as a huge onion ring and fries carrots and squash.It was funky but it worked. The sashimi was some of the best cuts of fresh fish I have ever had including tuna and salmon. I would go back again just for that!. Holy cannoli--so. much. food, for only $10 you get a lot of sushi with substance.
