Khinkali House is a fantastic spot for authentic Georgian food. I ordered the charcuterie plate, boiled and fried khinkali with cheese, beef, and lamb, plus the sturgeon skewer, and everything was flavorful and very reasonably priced. The khinkali were easily the highlight of the meal. Service was incredibly quick. I was seated right away, the food came out fast, and the staff gave great recommendations on what to order. The atmosphere is warm and casual, with a cozy dining room that makes it easy to settle in and enjoy the meal. I would have loved some complimentary bread, but that's a very minor complaint. Overall, a great experience and a place I'd definitely return to.

We came for a light snack before dinner It was my first time trying Armenian-Georgian soup dumplings (the khinkali). We tried the lamb and the beef boiled ( traditional way) and then we tried the mushrooms fried. I would say traditional method is ok but those mushroom ones fries were excellent so I'm thinking them fried must be even better. The dumplings are quite big but they're mostly empty with a bit of ground meat and a thin broth. It's tasty but if you're expecting a soup dumpling like DTF (din tai fung) then this isn't it. It's heartier and less refined than the DTF version. The hummus is great and so was the khachapuri (Georgia egg and cheese bread boats). The staff was super nice and very accommodating to our family. We had a bunch of rambunctious kids and they're were super nice with them. The restaurant is nice and very spacious it can definitely have some big parties in there. They have a full bar and the prices are reasonable for their drinks. Would def come back

While the culinary world is currently obsessed with the delicate, bite-sized Xiao Long Bao--which didn't even show up until the 1870s in Shanghai--the Georgians have been perfecting this craft since the 13th-century Mongol invasions. Khinkali is the OG. It's the rugged, fist-sized ancestor that doesn't need a bamboo steamer basket or a delicate, nervous touch. It's a meal that requires soul, a bit of primitive technique, and a complete disregard for your clean shirt. Tucked away on Artsakh Avenue, Khinkali House is where you go to pay your respects to this ancient culinary titan. Atmosphere and the Art of the Rainy Day I happened to drop in on a rare, miserable rainy day in Glendale, and let me tell you, sitting out in their roomy, covered patio area while the water drummed against the roof was pure atmospheric gold. It's the kind of setting that demands heavy, unapologetic comfort food. The service here is sharp, warm, and attentive--the kind of old-school hospitality that makes you feel like a regular before you've even opened the menu. The Opening Act: Borscht with Soul You don't just jump into a pile of massive dumplings. You have to prepare the palate. I started with a bowl of their Borscht, and it was exquisite. It arrived as a deep, vibrant crimson pool of beet-infused soul, swimming with tender beef, cabbage, carrots, and potatoes. It was earthy, slightly sweet, and served at a temperature that could ward off any chill in your bones. It's the kind of bowl that tells you immediately that this kitchen isn't just following a recipe; they're honoring a bloodline. The Main Event: The Four Pillars of Khinkali Then came the heavy hitters. Unlike the thin-skinned, elegant Xiao Long Bao, Khinkali is built for battle. It's a massive, boiled parcel with a thick, satisfyingly chewy dough gathered at the top into a sturdy little knot or "handle" (the kudi). You don't eat the handle--you use it to hoist the beast, bite a small hole in the side, aggressively slurp out the liquid gold trapped inside, and then devour the rest. I also have my eye on the Zhengyalov Hatz (a traditional Armenian herb-filled flatbread), and the wildly intriguing Osetrina (Sturgeon) Skewer, which you just don't see every day. The Verdict: Respect the Elders Let's cut the noise. Xiao Long Bao is great for a polite, light lunch, but Khinkali is for when you want to feel something real. Khinkali House has managed to bring a 13th-century mountain staple to a Glendale patio and make it feel like the most relevant thing on the street. It's bold, it's historical, and it's flat-out delicious. If you want to experience the true evolution of the dumpling, get yourself to Khinkali House. Khinkali House 8/10 Found this gem one Saturday when we were in town. Originally, we were going to this other place down the street but even on a Saturday at ~2 pm, the other place had almost an hour wait. Regardless, this place was amazing. No wait around 2 pm and really quick service. Famous for their dumplings, you can really see why. We grabbed the mushroom ones, both a steamed and fried. I do recommend the steamed. You're able to really taste and savory the soup. The cucumber salad and bread were highlights as well. Pro-tip: bring a group here so you can share things family style! Service: 5/5 Food/Drinks: 4/5 Price: 4/5 Atmosphere: 3/5

First time here and I'll definitely be back. Our waitress was amazing.. Very welcoming, attentive, and helpful. Here's what we ordered: Cheese Plate & Charcuterie Board - Would absolutely order again. Great variety and perfect for sharing. Zhengalov Hatz - Loved it. Grilled Khachapuri - Solid and satisfying. Mediterranean Salad - Refreshing with a great mix of herbs that blended perfectly together. Khinkali (Fried Cheese, Beef, and Mushroom) - All were amazing. Definitely a must-order. Pork, Osetrina, Shrimp, and Lamb Skewers - Not bad at all, but probably wouldn't order them again. Overall, really enjoyed the experience, food, and service. Looking forward to coming back :)

The food was not what we expected. We had one of each Khinkali dumpling (boiled lamb, boiled beef, fried mushroom, friend cheese), the pickled veggies, borscht, and zhengyalov hatz. The salted chickpeas were a strange app, but could've be also we aren't regular connoisseurs of this cuisine. Maybe we incorrectly came in thinking this was comparable to Din tai fung which it definitely was not. Our experience here felt like every dish was an appetizer. The best dish we had was the zhengyalov hatz which is probably purchased from the place nearby that only does this and unlikely to be prepared in house. We left full but unsatisfied. Most of the food was heavy / greasy to us and no real main entree. The best Khinkali of the ones we got was the steamed beef. It didn't have a whole lot of flavor still. We likely won't be coming back because this type of food I guess just isn't for us, but clearly they have a lot of supporters who like it so it just comes down to personal presence for us. We came on a weekday late lunch hour and it was not too busy and service was great. The first water glass brought to me was chipped in two places but was replaced when I mentioned it. Definitely should be doing checks before putting it on the table. They could do much better on presentation. It's just - couple wet dumplings laying there on a white plate. It's what it would look like if I were to serve this at home"m. When you pay to eat out, you expect a little extra of an experience that you wouldn't be getting at home - for the preparation, plating, and presentation. Feedback is to add better presentation of your food, it could help it taste better for having the extra visual appeal.

Came here today for lunch. Never had Georgian food before. So I was quite excited to see what that's all about. I really like the interior. Its quiet. It looks elegant. I like the exposed ceiling with the chandeliers. There's also seating outside as well. They have a pretty good menu. With so many Eastern European dishes and drinks. We ordered the following: 1. Mashed red bean (Lobi Pashtet)- 4 little clumps of red beans. Reminded me of raw meat. It was a good appetizer. Good seasoning. Not over powering. But pleasing to the palate. 2. Khinkali- they have 4 different types of these large Georgian dumplings. And they have them either fried or traditional, which is boiled. Reminds me of Xiao Long Baos or Chinese soup dumplings. But just a lot larger. Good flavors. Good amount of filling. I prefer the fried ones better though in that it held its shape easier than the boiled ones. The beef and lamb ones are a lot better than the cheese and mushroom ones. There's definitely a technique to eating them!! 3. Quinoa salad- this was really good. I enjoyed the slices of green apples. Added some sweetness and tartness. It was light and refreshing. 4. Beef skewer- the beef was tough. Maybe because we ordered it medium well. It wasn't that great. 5. Khachapuri (regular)- it was small. Like a little loaf of cheesy bread. Bread was crunchy on the outside but very cheesy and warm on the inside. 6. Chicken wings- this was one of the bigger disappointments. $15 for 4 anemic tiny chicken wings. Not crunchy at all. Extremely salted. And they just looked really sad. They belong more in the dollar per wing sode of things. 7. Okroshka drink- a yogurt based Russian drink. Had lots of dill and cucumber in it. It was interesting and unique. 8. Honey cake- this was really good. Light, fluffy, not crazy sweet. It was just really small though. 9. Armenian coffee- little cups of coffee with the grounds on the bottom. It wasn't strong at all, like turkish coffee. It was kind of weak and anemic. 10. Chickpeas- they had a bowl of this on the table to begin thr meal with. They were really tasty! Cooked well, had a nice bite to them. And flavors were just popping! Overall the food was good. Is it authentic? I think so. I have nothing to compare it too. But it was new and unique to me. I love the vibes here. They use that ugly butcher paper for the tables like Raffis does. Food does come out quickly here. Its family style type of eating here and we did order a lot of food, but the bill does reflect that. They charge a non cash pay fee which I find to be upsetting, because who payd cash these days...... And they didn't tell me about it beforehand. Must try here that we ordered would be the quinoa salad and the honey cake. I would never order the chicken wings again. The okroshka I was glad to try but wouldn't order it again. Everything else was OK to pretty good. If you've never had Georgian food or Armenian food, I'd definitely recommend it.

We had several delicious variations of meat and cheese and dough that were very good. Wasn't really feeling the white tablecloth setting/vibe. We thought they would have a fun selection of Georgian wine including orange wine but that was not the case. The one Georgian dry white wine and one Georgian dry red wine we tried were not good, but I guess they were kind of cheap at $10/glass. The only issue is they accidentally poured us an extra glass of red, took it away from our table, and still charged us for it (and we didn't realize until after we'd paid and left). We also wanted to try a little baklava at the end and they made it sound like the pieces were really small so we ordered two not realizing they were massive and $10 each! It was a...fine restaurant but I do not think I will be coming back.

Im a fan. I've been here a few times and have enjoyed each experience. When I think Armenian food, this is the place I think of. Grilled Meats - it's all good. My favorite will always be the lamb with the salmon following as a close second. Dumplings - I like that you can order per unit so you can try a variety of different flavors. Honey Cake - my absolutely favorite. Say yes, every time. General Abiance - I prefer sitting outside. It's a bit bright inside. The outdoor area is more vibey and a bit more intimate.

Food was good but the service was absolutely abhorrent. We ordered beef shish kebab, it only came with one sad excuse layer of lavash that was already soaked. We asked for more lavash and they did not disclose that they would charge us for it. They charged us 4 dollars for a sad amount of lavash(see photo below). Genuinely baffling. It did not end there. We also ordered a Caesar's salad. They brought out fries instead, and at the time we thought they were just being nice so we didn't say anything about it. The salad never came out and the server made the poor excuse of saying that they heard us say "seasoned fries". (What is the "seasoned" portion I don't even know it was regular fries.). Do better khinkali house. Train your employees. Very disappointing.

First time having Armenian/Georgian food. My friend took us here so that we could finally try it. We ordered: Khachapuri- Georgian Cheese bread Mediterranean Salad - Tomatoes and cucumbers tossed with herbs, olive oil and spices Khinkali (Boiled) - Beef, Cheese and Mushroom Khinkali (Fried) - Beef, Cheese and Mushroom Napoleon Mikado Overall, everything is excellent. I loved the Khachapuri and the fried Khinkali. The Napoleon was also great. Would definitely come back and try other items - specially the skewers.

A friend of mine recommended Khinkali House to me. Hands down my new favorite place. Extremely welcoming staff and most importantly- AMAZING FOOD. I sat at the bar and was very well taken care of by Zhenya (he was behind the bar that day). Since I haven't had authentic Khinkali in years, he suggested on the best ways to go about eating them and warned that they are very juicy and on the best way to eat them. Over all I am very happy and will certainly be back, just to have dinner or for a banquet with all my friends. 5 stars for sure! read more

I went to visit Khinkali House with my girlfriend and we really enjoyed it! Interior is really peaceful and nice, you feel like you visiting your friends house. Host girl was very hospitable and sweet. Our waitress Galina was very professional and kind. She provide the best service for us! She was very polite and kind. Galina helped us with our choice and explained the best way how to eat Khinkali. The food was really delicious, definitely coming back again! read more

I came here with my son who insisted on trying Khinkali I guess he had it once at a friend's house and liked it. We usually go to DinTaiFung for dumplings but this is more of a Euro Asian style food which is Georgian and Russian and Armenian. My son, doesn't speak the language and can't pronounce "khinkali" but he tries. So to sum it up - their Khinkali is pretty amazing. It's a comfort food. We tried the boiled beef and fried cheese. Foodgasm all the way. The waitress (Natalia) was also super nice and the management (surprisingly good service) usually not the case in some ethnic places (if you know what I mean). So we decided to come back here and try the lamb chops for dinner and make it a weekly ritual for Sat lunch Khinkali. The prices are also reasonable. I am a lamb eater and they have chops are only $12. On top of that we got a nice honey cake (the best ever) read more

I can't even begin to describe how amazing the food is in this place. I'm absolutely obsessed with Medovic (a honey cake). It tastes just like homemade one my grandma makes. This is the only Khinkali place in LA that makes original authentic Khinkalis just like in Armenia/Georgia. You can tell that they use all the organic ingredients that is necessary to make the real Khinkali. I haven't been inside, but I order a lot on Postmates. I'm so happy that they're on postmates. I moved to Glendale about 2 years ago and found this place (when it was called TKF) within the first month. I've eaten here probably 20+ times since then, and it's the first place I show someone when I want to share an experience with them. The dumplings are ALWAYS incredible, the atmosphere is modern, fancy, but beautifully casual, and the staff always have a warm smile. If I ever leave this area, this restaurant alone will be worth the drive back to Glendale. I couldn't recommend it more highly! (Food notes: 2 boiled beef and 1 fried cheese will hit every craving, and make sure you ask for sour cream! Mushroom is fine. Nothing amazing - nothing terrible. I discovered this restaurant 3 years ago (the name was different and recently it became Khinkali House) when I moved to LA and since then I have been their regular client. As a Georgian girl, I know how good Khinkali looks like and tastes :) Staff is very friendly and nice. I highly recommend this place to everyone. Good job guys! Don't come here. Sat us down and couldn't even give us a menu for whatever reason. Then a couple came in ten minutes after and immediately provided them with greetings and a menu. Totally ignored us. Maybe because we're Asian. Spoke to the host and as we left, didn't even acknowledge us. read more

I've always wanted to try khinkali so when I found this place I had to see what its all about. My friend and I started with the pickled vegetable plate, the mushroom filled blinches, the hatchipuri, and the shrimp skewer. For the main course we ordered two of each of the dumplings, cheese mushroom and beef. For desert we had the dessert blinches, honey cakes and mikado cake with our mint tea. I'm Russian and honestly I felt like I was back in my grandmother's kitchen. The spices and flavors of eastern Europe/Caucasus region are very strong and authentic. Every plate was delicious. My only complaint was the shrimp skewer only came with 3 shrimp. Otherwise everything was perfect. Our server Zhenya was very polite and attentive, and we didn't have to wait long for our food. The outdoor patio is private but refreshing. I love this place and hope to take my parents there soon. Thank you Khinkali House for a wonderful dining experience! read more

I hate leaving bad reviews but this interaction left me with a sour taste. I really recommend the staff be taught about proper ADA and service dog laws. I have a service dog that is two years trained for work as a mobility aid and psychiatric service dog. Service dog "registries", IDs, and the such are fake/scams and actively hurt service animal handlers, however unknowing individuals may believe that you need a certificate or registration for your service animal. Usually, I expect business staff to be knowledgeable about this fact however when I arrived I was asked for a form of ID or registration, and was met with very confused/judgmental looks when I had to go through the explanation about ADA laws. This kind of behavior is what makes spaces difficult for access. I would really like to see the staff be more educated next time, so the next handler does not have to go through the same experience. read more

Best xinkali in la and actually in nyc. Sometimes they are a bit salty but I think that's because they put too much salt in the water while boiling it. But other than that it's a must have! I wish they opened up one in la so I didn't have to go so far a way. But I would travel for these even farther. I'm georgian And the dish is georgian and it hits the spot. read more

First indoor dining experience since last March and honestly wish I'd just stayed home. The dishes are inexpensive, which is great, but just a heads up that you get incredibly small portions. I don't mind a small portion if it's flavorful, but the meat was lacking even a hint of spice. The tiny chicken wings (they could've been quail wings) were undercooked and bland. The pork skewers were so overcooked and dry that they bordered on inedible, and the khinkali were underwhelming piles of wet dough with MAYBE a tablespoon of ground meat in them. The Georgian cheese bread and the stuffed grape leaves were both quite good. Again, VERY small, but at least they had flavor! I got a "tequila" cocktail. It was tasty enough, but I'm not sure it actually had any tequila in it. I don't want to judge the service too harshly because it's tough to be a server, especially these days, so I'll just say it wasn't spectacular. We paid $75 (before tip) for about $9 worth of food. Our whole group wanted to like it but the food was really expensive, given in small portions, and the favor is lacking :( I don't understand the reviews at all besides they might feel nostalgia? We ordered beef dumplings which were really salty, otherwise bland, and the tops of them were uncooked and tough to chew. Each skewer costs $10-15 and they were really small and left us hungry. Hi. On the recommendation of my friends I found this restaurant. My friends sayd me that this is the best restaurant where you can eat. I was born in Georgia, but I am Armenian, so I love Georgian and Armenian cuisine. I often visit this restaurant. I tried almost everything, so I decided to write my experience. The experience is only positive. I am a critic man, but everything was real perfect. Most of all I liked Khinkali. This is the most delicious Khinkali in the world !!! Very disappointed in this place. I was recommended by some people because I just came to USA from Georgia last month. This is not authentic. This place has a good ambience but that is pretty much it. Born and raised in Tbilisi for 28 years, this is not khinkali. Taste was okay, it was still edible, but I do not like this place because they make food Armenian/American way and not Georgian. Khachapuri was also American. For real Khachapuri, I recommend Tony Khachapuri. Havlabar in Glendale good too. I also try Satsivi, this one was actually good. I happy I find place that has Georgian food, I just wish it was real Georgian and not 99% Armenian/American and 1% Georgian. I am not even strict person, I can eat but I hate when place give name "khinkali house" and cannot make real way. I even give big mamma place 4 star but at least they call their thing "gondola" and not "khachapuri" because they know it not real. I cannot say good for this. I see owner say people come from Georgia for this place, but I hope not. I hope he mean Georgia USA state not country. They need to change name, call it "Dumpling House." We were looking for something non-chain and ethnic in this area. We saw they had outdoor and indoor open (Covid April 2021). We were seated quickly around 6pm. We had the dumplings, Palmeni, chicken skewer, house salad, lentil soup and dolma. Food was good. I wouldn't say amazing, but good! Our server was very positive and encouraging on explaining dishes we didn't know. 4 stars for good good food and server. Could have used water early on (had to ask for it) and a refill later. It's Pandemic time right now and I called in on a Sunday for lunch. They didn't really have any staff in-house so only a few things on the menu were actually available (completely understandable). All I ended up ordering was 4 Khinkali dumplings--two ground beef and two Georgian cheese. First off, this place had a watered down, Americanized menu. The Khinkali are barely filled, the khachipuri is just wrong, and the service is subpar. The restaurant when you go in looks very nice and upscale. We ordered the khachipuri (cheese bread). When one first came out, the server set it on our table. We had not yet touched it about 3-4 mins later, the server came up and told us that he brought this to the wrong table. He then proceeded to pick it up off our table and set it down on the "right" table. ABSOLUTELY absurd. Altogether I would not recommend going here as there are plenty of other, better, Georgian food options in Glendale. read more

We had decided on Raffi's but the hour wait was just too long. The dumpling house made us think Asian but we were so surprised. The server, Natalia, showed us around the menu and her professionalism and friendliness was every present. Portions are bigger than you think. I recommend ordering a few and then a few more. I tried their Khinkali couple months ago and loved. This place is located right in the heart of Glendale. Walking distance from Americana. It reminded me of my mom's Khinkali little bit. Even my 2 year old daughter ate it (she is a picky eater). The only suggestion I will make, is to make them little smaller, because the doe is way more than it needs to be be. Other than that everything was great. If you haven't tried it yet I would highly recommend to do so. read more

A new fan of Khinkhali house and having visited in twice in two weeks, I have to say I'm so glad I found this place. The food is absolutely delicious and as someone who was sadly unaware of the deliciousness of a Khinkhali a few weeks back, I feel bad that my life was deprived of the pleasures of this delicious dumpling. So in short: the dumplings are amazing! The fried beef ones are my favorite though the boiled ones are good too. The cheese ones are nice but the beef still better. In appetizers, the Satsivi and Khachapuri are both delicious! The dolmas are just average and can be found anywhere else, so save your appetite for the rest. The Armenian wines are really amazing too! They have outdoor seating with plenty of spacing and it's in a cute, quiet spot of off the street with free garage parking in the lot on Artsakh. The only thing that leaves something to be desired is the service. The place is getting popular and they're very understaffed so one has to wait a while to even be greeted upon arrival and then for the server to actually come to your table. Once you order everything (we try to do it all at once because we know it takes a while!), the food arrives very quickly. If you need to order more or another drink, good luck, as the server will take foreverrr to return. The servers are very sweet though, so I attribute this just to understaffing and lack of detail than actual incompetency. The service though is the only thing that makes me hesitate to go back often because the food is really really great! Just a constructive feedback for a neighborhood favorite. Highly recommend trying this place out and now, excuse me as I go dream of more delicious, juicy plump khinkhalis! read more

We came here today, were quickly seated, and ordered food. In less than 10 minutes we've got our first items and the rest came shortly after. We ordered hachapuri. Although we prefer open style by adjarski it was also really good. Khinkali were larger than what we see in Georgian restaurants in Bay Area. We also enjoyed them a lot. Definitely the best spot to have some authentic Georgian dumplings, it comes with an option of beef cheese or mushroom, to me beef boiled is just a must and cheese and mushroom fried are sooo good. I was immediately greeted at the door by attentive staff and assumed a seat at the bar. I noticed the Kashke Bademjan on the menu and gave it a chance. This is an eggplant dip that is relatively easy to mess up. But here it's absolutely delicious. Perfectly prepared. Reminded me of the stuff my grandmother used to make. In anticipation of the kebab, the server brought me pads of butter, raw, sliced onion, and sumac. These people know exactly what they're doing. I can't tell you how many times I've been to Persian restaurants where these essentials were not provided. Whereas normally, I would have to ask for these things, and often restaurants will lack these these essentials, they were brought to me here before I even asked. Very impressed. Then came the koobideh. And I was genuinely impressed. It was tender, juicy delicious, full of flavor. The saffron rice was also well prepared, and I enjoyed every bite, the entire experience. If you're looking for Premier Persian cuisine look no further. This is the place. As we say, "dastet shomah dahd nahkohn", literally translated to "don't hurt your hand", an expression of gratitude towards those who serve you and provide fantastic meals like the one I had here. I would take a side of fried potato's next time just because the potato salad was so damn deliciously mayo heavy that I could hear my heart slowing down. Atleast with the fried potato's I could have lied to myself on how they were made hahaha You rip a piece of bread, put lamb and rice on it, put onion and herbs on that, and then a little potato salad on that. Now roll that up. Now put that in your mouth and take a bite. That is the instructions on how to have some of the best flavor you will ever experience. Can't wait to go back.

We parked and walked the entire plaza before finally spotting it tucked into the back corner. My tip: drive as deep into the plaza as you can before parking. You order at the door and it's cash only. There's a large communal table by the entrance along with a few standing tables. Since it was the afternoon, the whole area was nice and cool in the building's shadow, so waiting wasn't bad. We still got our food to go because some people nearby were smoking. I ordered the lamb chops, which came on a bed of rice, sumac onions, lavash, and a chunky charred green pepper of some sort. The lamb chops were very tasty--crispy edges, meaty and juicy in the middle. They were thick, and all the fat was intact, which I loved. The lavash and rice were good, but I wasn't a fan of the onions, and the pepper was too spicy for me. Because of that, I kind of wished there was a different side, maybe something cooler, but that might just be me. Overall, the chops were great for the price. I'd go again and maybe try the pork chops next. My partner got the combo Lula, and it was decent, but to me it wasn't exceptional compared to other local kabob spots (cause there are a lot of good kabob places in Glendale). The lamb, though, gets my highest marks. I'm still thinking of them (we are there yesterday).
