I was really disappointed with my experience. I placed my order at 4:36 PM, and it wasn't until…read more5:45 PM that I was finally able to take a picture of the food we received. After waiting over an hour, we still only received about half of our order. About 40 minutes into the wait, I was told they were out of chicken, which meant I never received the chicken and waffles I ordered. I also never received my baked beans. I understand that restaurants can run out of items, but I wish we had been told much sooner instead of waiting that long. What makes this even more disappointing is the amount of money we spent, and as you can see from our receipt, we tipped very well. We came in wanting to support the business and have a good experience. Unfortunately, between the long wait, missing food, and the quality of what we did receive, I honestly don't feel the experience was worth the money. We were also visiting from out of town and specifically chose this place, so it was disappointing to spend such a large part of our visit waiting for food we ultimately didn't receive. I really feel that some type of refund or compensation should have been offered, especially for the items we paid for but never received. I do want to be fair and mention that they gave us complimentary water and banana pudding, which we appreciated. However, it didn't make up for waiting over an hour and not receiving our complete order. Would I come back? Maybe, but only once things are more organized and structured. I really wanted to enjoy and support this place, but this experience was just too much. For the amount of time and money we spent including leaving a generous tip I expected much better.

Oh HELL YEAH!!!! Finally got to try the food at this…read moreoutrageous, bodacious, delicious and awesome soul food kitchen! After a disappointing experience at THROWDOWN where I got charged for my online order which they never fulfilled, and I ended up without any food for my family on a Sunday even though they took my money... That's another story... I was so hungry for a decent soul food dinner...I thank heaven for the Cultured Soul! You can order online easily enough - - although, their (phone ordering) AI assistant system REVI was not working over the weekend. I simply went in in person, and waited about 30 minutes for my order. It's a very chill, pleasant, relaxed environment, everyone seemed happy. The nicest thing was that the ladies taking orders also circulated around the restaurant to check in with people constantly and make sure they were cool as they waited for their orders. Now, the food: Those smothered ribs are fire! OMG, all the sides, delicious, crazy good Gouda mac & cheese, yummy mashed potatoes, and totally off the hook greens with cabbage and smoked turkey. I could eat this like every day! They do have oxtail, lots of fried chicken and fish, and a ton of other stuff, I'm just waiting to work my way down the menu. Portions were generous, you definitely could feed two people on one entrée... But I'm selfish and I want it all! Desserts also amazing... I had the caramel peach cobbler but will be coming back for the banana pudding and maybe strawberry cheesecake! I am super happy with this totally top restaurant and caterer, I will be enjoying coming back time and time for the crazy good food, wonderful friendly vibes, and... Hell it just makes me happy! Thank you people... The Cultured Soul ROCKS, BABY!

Long Beach does farmers markets well and Harvest at Bixby Park is no exception…read more This farmers market is practically coastal. It takes place at a beach-side park and features everything you could need to stock up for the week. Most recently I've seen bagels, donuts, hummus, sauces, meats, dog treats, live music, empanadas, juices, veggies, fruits, and more. I love that the majority of their vendors are hyper local. You'll discover fan-favorite businesses here like Solis and Devi's Donuts that you won't find outside of the Long Beach foodie scene. The best part? This farmers market is dog friendly! Practically unheard of. The widespread outdoor environment is perfect for your furry friend. There's also a lot of trees, shaded areas, and grass, so you can instantly dive into your collection of locally made goodies picnic-style.

We happened to walk by and noticed a good amount of tents were set up and walked over to see what it was about. Well it's another farmers market. It's not too big but it does offer a lot of produce vendors and food vendors. It's is pet friendly as it's in the park. One side is where the produce is. Loads of nice fresh and beautiful fruits and vegetables. Farm fresh eggs also available. They do have a good amount of vendors selling gifts and trinkets. You have apparel, there's a cute pet vendor and more. The side where the stage is with a live band is where all the food vendors are located. There's been pizza, bagels, made to order meals as well as seafood vendors. There's quite a good amount on food. With the stage being there, they alway had a live band performing and keeping people entertained. Dancing happens which is a nice way to get people to enjoy themselves. It's a pretty cool market but parking is limited as it's alway pretty busy at the park.
