Long overdue journal about this joint! Came to LBC's Cambodian new year festival at the community college and had such a great time seeing all the locals and culture. We've never been before and it was nice. We really wanted to feast it up at the stalls but the lines were so long and it was so hot. Thankfully we found this amazing gem! This place is strictly CASH ONLY. So please come prepared. We came and it was a full mad house. Lines and parking was full I knew that's when we were going to get a great meal. Came with my mom and we DEF ordered more food than we can take on. My mom hasn't had Cambodian food in a while so we def made people wonder why we ordered so much lol Food was so savory and delicious. Seating is limited hopefully they can expand. All kinds of mixed feelings after dining here. The good: The young man who took our order was super friendly, welcoming and accommodating! The student noodles with pork was delicious! The iced coffee was solid. The bad: The women who work here were a lot less friendly. The tables were so close to one another that we couldn't sit across from one another. Food also took an incredibly long time to come out even though we only ordered two dishes--student noodles and beef skewers. We also had to wave down a server just to follow up on the iced coffee that I ordered, especially since this was already after the food had finally arrived. Lastly, while it was good that they had their own parking lot, exiting through the almost too narrow alley was incredibly challenging in either direction. Possibly the most important restaurant in all of America for the Cambodian Diaspora. They serve dishes and soups that have long been forgotten in some Cambodian households. The flavors are authentic and invoke nostalgia in the older generations and reconnection to their roots for the young. For those not well versed in cambodian cuisine, what this restaurant is making is not easy and the quality they are able to provide is impressive. Outside of the well known dishes with kreung - lemongrass paste, there are other dishes you won't find anywhere except in the the old world. Things like like the nhom svay- papaya salad with dried fish, or the Machu Srae - farmers fish soup, are complex with a unique mixtures of ingredients like banana blossoms and lotus, that deliver the familiar southeast asian sweet, sour, and salty umami flavor but with a signature that is uniquely Cambodian. You won't find this place recommended on infatuation or tagged with a Michelin bib gourmand simply because nobody understands Cambodian cuisine. But the community does and Cambodians from across the US and even back in the old world knows of this place. It's a must visit. Restaurants come and go. They get sold off remodeled and change for better or worse. Small and cozy hidden gem. The food is really good. This is a Cambodian restaurant. The states Thai food, but that's just to draw in people that haven't had a chance to eat Cambodian food yet. They do have lots of Thai dishes as well as an amazing array of Khmer entrees. It was our first time here and pound for pu, it stands up to the bigger restaurants in Cambodia Town. Crystal Thai-Cambodian Cuisine is located in Little Cambodia. It's very homey inside and the waitstaff is super friendly. It is worth noting that they are cash only - I got two dishes for $40 even and the portions were generous. I wish I could give this five stars but both of the foods that I ordered (student noodles with beef and an eggplant dish) were both pretty bland compared to another spot I had around here. A little underwhelming given I hear a lot of good things about this place. I went around Monday 1:30pm so it was not busy. If it's not obvious, it's cash only as posted in a lot of the signs around the restaurant inside and outside. The exterior is unassuming, with main focus being the food. Almost all of the dishes here are priced at $15 or $25, with one being $30. This makes some dishes well worthwhile while some dishes complete rip offs. I guess they scale the portions accordingly. We got the beef skewers, lot cha, and somlor machu yuon. Beef skewers were 5 large pieces for $15 so value is there. It came with a side of pickled vegetables. The skewers themselves were flavorful but the beef is fatty and some pieces are hard to chew. The lot cha has nice bouncy and soft texture, more ideal to use a spoon to consume and dip with the sauce. I got it with beef which was okay. The somlor machu yuon is a sweet and sour soup with shrimp and fish. The shrimp and fish were too seafoody in taste but the soup is soothing and very flavorful. Service for these places is usually okay, and it shouldn't be scrutinized as heavily. However, it was a pain to flag someone down and regulars have to give them a heads up for them to go to our table and requests are not fulfilled the first time around, so I have to complain about the service in this regard. read more

Everything was delicious and for the amount of food we ordered the price was great. The restaurant is small so get there early or you will have to wait. However while we waited they took our order so when we sat down the food didn't take long. We definitely ordered to much for just 2 people but it was bomb and I will be going back with at least 2 more people read more

Parking is limited. Restaurant is not that big. We lucked out to arrive on Saturday around 12:30pm to get a table for 4 without waiting. We were with friends who have been here so they knew what to order. 3 dishes and 2 soups were what we ordered. A must is the bbq beef. Amazing flavors. Secondly is their fish / shrimp paste stew-like with raw veggies. Soup servings were huge. Maybe 2 orders were too much for the 4 of us but we had to try it. With rice, homecooking feel. Service was great and fast. Although they were busy, they were attentive to everyone. By the time we were leaving, a small line outside for a table. One of the classic LB spots for khmer food. There's a reason it's been here forever. Portions are usually huge. Food tastes great. Doesn't matter if you get the Thai Boat noodles, Me-Ka-Thang, Beef Sticks, it'll all taste good. Highly recommend the Beef Sticks! No place makes them like they do. Seating may be limited and the parking lot is pretty small too. Just be aware of that. If you want Thai/Khmer food this a definite must try! read more

Came here straight from the airport. The food was delicious. There were 11 of us so we ordered a lot. We ordered duck feet salad, seafood soup, boat noodles, salty fish and scramble eggs, curry dish, and Phnom Penh noodles. I ordered beef somlaw myou krueng and the lady forgot the order. She said there were too many of us. Overall, the dishes are big portions and food was good. Make sure to bring cash. They only take cash and no other form of payment. Came here on a cold Saturday evening with two friends - it was fairly empty, but with the nice homey atmosphere of a typical Thai restaurant. I ended up ordering the pad see ew, which was gloriously greasy and large enough to take home leftovers. The staff were very accommodating and welcoming, and they were kind enough to provide hot water whenever I was running low. One thing was that they have a TV showing Thai music videos, which I thought were fairly entertaining to watch and really enhanced the experience. Overall, a nice experience - I'd love to come back and try their other dishes, as I am quite unfamiliar with Thai cuisine. read more

Amazing find in Cambodia Town in Long Beach. Not the most glamorous feel, but that's part of the appeal. It feels authentic. There is Cambodian music and music videos playing on the TV. Cambodian snacks for sale at the counter. And staff are friendly and willing to help. It has a nice casual vibe. Food was terrific. The Lot Cha noodles were unique and delicious. I got it with shrimp, which were plump and tasty. My wife got the Nom P'jok soup noodles dish - honestly a flavor I've yet to have; so different from Chinese and Vietnamese and other Thai dishes. One of the best Cambodian restaurants, if not the best in the area. This is as close as you can get to home-cooked, authentic Cambodian dishes. All dishes are family-style portions. To start, the Beef Skewers were full of flavor, moist, and tender. It is slightly sweet, and salty with a light smoky taste. It is paired very well with the side veggie salad, crunchy. It cuts through that fattiness. The Papaya Salad with salted crabs was delicious, crunchy salty, and spicy. My favorite is Samlor Machu Kreoung, a traditional Khmer sour soup with beef, intestines, and tripe was a standout. It's so good and authentic tasting perfect for the colder weather and if you are a bit under the weather. It is fully loaded with ong choy. We had enough leftovers for the next day. But the star of our lunch was the whole Fried Catfish served with Mango and Tamarind sauce. This is not your ordinary fried catfish. The catfish had a crispy skin outside but moist and flavorful inside. The size of the catfish was good enough for 4 people. The restaurant looks like a family-owned and operated. The service was warm and welcoming. I love to see a steady stream of Cambodian families coming in. They must be doing something right. read more

My second visit to this super authentic Cambodian restaurant was today, May 1, 2026. I'm happy to report that it continues to be a lovely and traditional place to enjoy Cambodian Food. Another reviewer mentioned the menu is a little difficult to the untrained Cambodian eater. I would agree with this criticism, but don't let that be a reason for not spending an hour or two at this awesome spot. Quite the opposite in fact - it's so rootsy and real that they are catering to their neighborhood which is largely Cambodian. Everyone in the spot was speaking the native language and enjoying the food tremendously. The purple and orange theme is striking on the walls and around the windows. Some classic art in there too. We ordered a popular dish with the lemongrass, Kaffir lime leaves, and cardamom. It was a $25 soup which seems costly however split by two we still had leftovers. The green papaya salad is always a fave of mine so we got that too and it was quite tasty, they served it with white rice ($2 more). Came because I was craving Nom Banh Chok- a Khmer style Cambodian fish based green curry soup! It's so delicious here and you get a big bowl for $15. I preface by saying that service is pretty much non existent; at least the few times I've come in it has been. You pretty much gotta flag somebody down to take your order; then go to the front to pay.. But sometimes, the service isn't the star when the food is excellent! This time I made friends with the guys sitting next to me- they were intrigued because I was familiar with their culture so they shared with me a few items from their table.. Yay!! I got to try their beef sticks and papaya salad.. I will say that those beef stick were top tier, and I've tried lots!! I highly recommend!! They were juicy and very well seasoned with just enough char.. They recently had an upgrade inside so the restaurant looks so much better than it used to.. It can be tough to find good Cambodian food. This particular restaurant was found by my son and it easily made 5 stars. CASH only so be forewarned The location has some parking and we were off hours so expect to spend some time trying to park if you come during a busy time The Food: Crispy Spare Ribs: Fried pieces of spare rib. Well seasoned and yep crispy. They were tender and just the right give when eating. The excellent house sauce was perfect with them. Beef and Shrimp: Tender beef with green onions, and prawns. The sauce tied it together and the prawns were perfectly cooked. The house sauce again was excellent. I suspect that we (or at least me) was prejudged when it came to heat. It was pretty mild to say the least. Fortunately the tray of condiments allowed us to kick it back up. Please note this restaurant is cash-only. 5/5 - Deep fried catfish, I didn't realize the catfish came with steamed white rice and a vegetable plate to eat like a wrap. It is A LOT of food if you're not planning to do family-style. The fish is extra crispy and I loved the tamarind sauce and mango salsa served on the side! The sweet and tangy sauce was so addicting with the deep fried fish. I had lots of leftovers because the portions are large and I'm looking forward to eating them the next day! 4/5 - Seafood soup noodles were also tasty, the soup itself isn't seafood-y. It's a hole in the wall, mom and pop's shop. As far as food is concerned, everything we've had was phenomenal. It was made fresh to order, delicious, savory, and packed with flavors. Home cooked meals which brought me to childhood, very nostalgic. The only downside was that there were no prices on the menu. I had two dishes from here, the beef skewers and lok lak. They also give a good portion of white rice on the side. Both dishes were really flavorful. I took some of lettuce from the lok lak dish and wrapped it around a piece of the beef skewer and stuffed it with the veggies it came with. Delicious! They revamped the inside and now it's more modern. We ordered Papaya Salad, Spare Ribs, Morning Glory, Beef Sticks and Somlor Machu (not in photo). We loved all the dishes. A couple of things, we ordered the papaya salad spicy and they did not deliver the spice. The spare ribs bones were a bit crushed. So when you try to peel the meat off the bone, the meat would be stuck to the bone and you'll end up eating bits and pieces of the bone. But overall, everything was tasty.
