After digging deeper, their dishonesty came through. They added (hid) costs they told me they would take out, they inflated the price then applied factory incentives to pad their profit, and had fees that other dealers did not include. This review has been long overdue. I bought myself a Kia Telluride for my bday back in 2021 and even convinced another friend to buy one here. It was a great first time buying at a dealership experience and I'm still in love with my car to this day. I have always had great service in the service dept in Carson as well. This time I had to bring it in for two things and I had Tiffany in service. She kept me up to date while it got inspected and approved for warranty coverage. When I brought it in for it to get done I was given a loaner car (the woman there was also friendly) and tiffany kept me up to date on when my Telly would be ready. I really appreciated her explaining everything in detail and for keeping me in the loop. Her service was great. I'm so happy to have my car back looking good as new. There's also a man with glasses that went to get my car when I picked it up who was super sweet too. I'll keep referring my friends to this location. read more

I had an awesome and helpful experience from Ceaser Arzate!!!Got my K5 here years ago and I feel I can trust the dealership whenever I have to take in my car to get serviced etc. They have a great warranty programs. Most important of all their car service supervisors are beyond helpful and make sure needs are always fulfilled. Made an appointment for service on line. Go to drop off car- told they need the car for 3 days to diagnose the issue, then a period of time to fix the car. Did not say this when an appointment was made. Offered a rental car for 3 days but because it is a Thursday, I would end up paying for at least 2 days at the least. Lady in service area had a whole speech- can only assume this is a normal thing. Asked to speak to the Service Manager but he does not get in until 10 am. We have 2 cars from this location- my advice is go to another Kia . My husband also had a horrible experience here with the service department. Waste of time. Never again and tempted to turn in both leases and go with Hundayi. read more

A terrible experience with their sales manager and one of the sales people. Used car salesman tactics with factually incorrect lease financing information that bordered on dishonesty. What I don't need is "I'm doing this because I like you" and other aggressive sales BS. I actually liked the Kia Sportage with all the bells and whistles but I would never go there again. Think twice before buying! My 2019 KIA Forte that I purchased at Kia of Carson has been stolen way too often. KIAs are being targeted specifically for their faulty security systems. 2019 may be a bit outdated now however I've had the latest anti-theft recall service here in December 2024 & in January 2025 it was stolen again. Do your own research! Google "KIA boys" or read up on their class action on theft. There are even songs online celebrating how easy it is to steal a KIA. Thieves WILL target your vehicle with or without a steering wheel lock or other measures I've taken. Definitely don't purchase if you do not have a secure garage or have to park overnight on the street often or accessible driveway. Yes "thats what insurance is for" but still - if you do purchase one, get coverage to include the MAXIMUM contribution to rentals. My transportation expenses in the past year have increased dramatically due to this theft issue. Insurance covers damages but it is still a hassle. Although this is a manufacture issue, management here does not appear to be concerned about this aspect of the customer experience at all. Perhaps because the class action is still being processed but they should revisit how to support customer through this hassle. 2 stars for the great customer service though! In the past I have referred friends and family to this dealership until learning of this problem. Insurance has also caught onto this issue & made it difficult for me to keep my policy and process claims after the first time this happened. Beware. read more

I'm finally released from the purgatory that is Kia of Carson now that they opened up a Santa Monica location. I almost cried with relief when I realized this! I have wasted so many hours in Carson waiting for my EV6 to get recalls and updates fixed--they have no loaner cars, average visit for me to do simple updates was 3-5 hours, and the only place they will bring you to is the mall. There's no coffee or food while you wait (or near the location), and there seem to be tons of men working there and yet nothing seems to be getting done or efficient. In the past three years they've never washed my car or charged it while I waited for countless hours in their sterile food-and-coffee-free environment. Most staff have no knowledge of Kia EVs, and tell you all kinds of misinformation when you bring your car in how xyz won't be covered. Clearly they are not trained, but this does not stop rampant mansplaining. In contrast, wow, thank you Daniel at Santa Monica Kia! I dropped off the car for a recall and within 30 minutes had a loaner and very detailed information about the 12V recall and issues--and they had it ready hours before I had asked, and they washed the car (without asking)! Swoon! I feel SO liberated now that I don't have to return to Kia of Carson, it really was the only downside to my beloved EV6. It's a luxury and expensive car, but the dealership treats everyone like they are servicing Saturns from the 1990s. read more

I had a disappointing experience with the Carson Kia service department. As a new local customer with two Kias, I scheduled maintenance for my EV6 and requested a tire rotation and camera repair. The advisor said a $245 diagnostic fee might apply if the technician blamed "outside influence" for the camera issue, despite no visible damage. Both the advisor and manager insisted on this policy and couldn't guarantee Kia would cover the fee under warranty. Frustrated, I decided not to continue with their service and left. Review is for service department. Worst I've ever experienced. I have had my EV9 for 8 months. The vehicle has had 5 recalls. The first time I brought it in, they looked and said "oh yes we see your vehicle does need the repairs but we don't have the part now. Come back when we have the part". No one ever called me back. I called after a month and asked if the part was available now, and scheduled my appointment because it was available. Service took 4 hours. I have received 4 additional recalls since but waited to schedule an appointment until I was contacted by Kia of Carson service department, I was told since this was a lot of work, it would be a 24 hour repair. I asked for a loaner vehicle and it was approved. Dropped my car off on the day and was called at 4:30pm that my car was ready, but I could wait to come until the morning as I had a 24 hour loaner. Next morning I went in and was handed my paperwork and I drove home. When I got home, I noticed that one of the recalls (instrument panel) was not completed because "special tool to complete it is out of order". My service advisor, Tiffany, NEVER advised me the work was not completed. Now I have to come back AGAIN??? I'm done with Kia of Carson. I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with my recent experience at Kia of Carson. My interaction with their customer service and management was both disappointing and utterly ineffective in handling a dispute. On July 31st, I visited the dealership at approximately 10 a.m. with the intention of extending my rental/loaner vehicle. During what was supposed to be a routine inspection, a small crack that was smaller than a quarter was discovered on the front bumper. This damage was completely unknown to me, and I was shocked when I was informed of it. The dealership's immediate response was to instruct me to file a new insurance claim or pay $560 for repairs, holding me solely responsible for the issue. I was, to put it mildly, livid. The lack of accountability and the dealership's refusal to consider the possibility that the damage might have occurred prior to my rental, was so minor as to be missed, or was wear and tear from normal everyday driving was incredibly frustrating. I attempted to discuss the matter with the manager, Shanarah, hoping for a more reasonable and customer-centric resolution. Unfortunately, my efforts were in vain. Shanarah was completely unwilling to engage in a productive conversation or explore any alternative solutions. Her unhelpful and dismissive attitude only exacerbated an already infuriating situation. This experience has left me with a deeply negative impression of Kia of Carson. The dealership's handling of this matter was unprofessional and their customer service was severely lacking. I would caution any potential customer to be wary of their policies and the way they resolve disputes. Now three weeks almost a month later I still have yet to have the window in my car replaced. I'll give the service department two stars bc ultimately they did get the car repaired and provide me with a loaner and I met some decent people along the way. But zero stars for communication. The only means of communication is apparently with a off-site person (or persons) that consequently doesn't have a great understanding of what's happening on the ground. It also took two trips to the dealer and a total of seven days together the situation fixed. The attached photo is one example of the communication. I kept hearing about the diagnosing period for days when I texted for updates. Finally, on the last day they said the car had been approved for a replacement 12-v battery. I might have been less annoyed had I known they were trying to do what two roadside service people said was needed. Meanwhile Kia emailed me and said that they heard there were issues and would work on the communication with the dealer but they ultimately ghosted me as well. I generally avoid this dealership although it's closer to home bc the sales rep lied to me when I tried cars. I bought the car elsewhere via Costco. But I went to them this time bc they are closer to where the car died the first time and my regular dealer said it would be better to take the car back to them when it died the second time several days later since they'd already attempted to fix it. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. Buying a Kia was a mistake I'll never make again. We originally leased our 2019 Sorento but purchased it outright during COVID when inventory was low. At the time, it only had 30k miles, so it seemed like a smart choice. During the purchase, however, we were required to buy an extended warranty--only to now be told it won't cover repairs for what Kia itself admits is a known issue. Kia has a widespread oil consumption problem, and unless you keep every single receipt from every service, they will deny responsibility. In our case, because we can't provide proof of a routine oil change from two years ago, they're refusing to fix the problem. Service at Kia of Carson has been just as bad. Our car has been in and out of their shop for over 9 months, with the most recent visit lasting a month and a half. I left multiple messages for the service manager--none were returned until I told the service advisor that if I didn't get a call back, I would come down and create a scene. The staff does not communicate, managers offer no support, and at one point they nearly sent my wife home with no oil in the car until she pushed back and mentioned the known issue. Kia of Carson and Kia corporate clearly has no interest in standing behind their vehicles. I've owned Ford vehicles for years and never experienced anything like this. Her comments are inappropriate, rude and condescending. My appointment today was for an oil change, to have my car seat reclining button looked at, and adress 2 recall issues. After my encounter with her, i asked that she only proceed with the recall issues. Unfortunately after 7 years of good service, i am sorry to say she left such a distasteful feeling, I have taken my business elsewhere. This review is not specifically aimed at Kia of Carson (I purchased my Kia Forte from the same location when the dealership was named Car Pro Kia) but it is aimed at Kia corporation and whoever owned or still owns Car Pro Kia. My Kia theft settlement claim where I was seeking reimbursement of my insurance deductible of $250.00 was recently denied. They said that I didn't submit the proper documentation in a timely manner which I did well over a year ago (which included insurance paperwork, body shop paperwork, which showed insurance deductible paid by me, and all other requested documentation) which was submitted prior to the final deadline. Even when I submitted a fire damage claim (vehicle engine fire- same vehicle, this incident happened almost a year after the vehicle theft) which was not related to the theft, iI was denied any settlement reimbursement.They said that the fire department report was not proof enough even though the fire department said in their report, the fire which totalled my vehicle was caused by electrical components in the engine compartment I highly recommend that any potential future customers seriously consider not purchasing a vehicle from Kia. This multi billion company manufactured a vehicle (Kia Forte) which they knew would be prone to theft and engine fire problems and on top of that, the end result being, they do whatever they can to screw a customer out of their insurance deductible reimbursement. But then again I should've expected that coming from a company that sold me a vehicle which as I stated earlier, they knew was prone to theft and fire problems (research class action lawsuits brought against Kia Forte vehicle theft and vehicle engine fires). If after reading my review, just ONE potential Kia customer made a better choice and avoided buying or leasing from this company, I would be gratified. Dealing with Kia of Carson has ensured that we will never again even remotely consider owning a car from this manufacturer. Thankfully we are now rid of ours. Recently took in our SUV due to a significant recall (an issue that can cause engine fires), and it took an entire hour for their rental desk to set up a loaner for me and ONE other customer. The lady there couldn't have been bothered to move any faster, having a leisurely morning chatting it up with her colleagues while customers were desperate to get to work. This was the icing on the cake after the many times I've been there for covered oil changes, etc., and it took all day for them to do what a Jiffy Lube could finish in twenty minutes. A few weeks ago I installed the new software we'd been sent for our Infotainment system, and Apple CarPlay immediately stopped working so we couldn't use our navigational system, music, or anything else. Service rep Yuri told me it would cost $245 for Kia to "diagnose" the problem. Absolutely absurd. When I complained, she said I could bring it back in and she'd talk to a manager, but she never followed through on arranging this, failing to answer my questions about whether they'd take care of the issue or if I'd be charged some sort of ridiculous fee for them fixing the problem caused by THEIR software upgrade. The worst is that the recall issue with the car we owned rendered it essentially undependable for extended use: following the recall, we were advised that if ever the engine warning light came on, we needed to immediately stop driving and call Kia's roadside assistance to have it towed to the nearest dealership to have the engine replaced. (Like we would trust them to do that well.) So basically we could never again confidently leave town driving this vehicle. Previously we'd used it to travel from LA to Yosemite, to the Grand Canyon, and also many times to Orange County. With the recall, we basically had a car we couldn't count on except for in-town driving. No one should satisfy himself with the idea that maybe the issues I've described here are particular to this specific dealership. Good friends of ours just spent SEVEN weeks arguing with Kia of Cerritos about replacing the entire engine in their car, which is under warranty. (A completely different car model and totally different issue than ours.) For almost two months, Kia refused to perform the replacement, even though they were required to do so, demanding that the couple pay $10,000 to have the repair completed. After eight weeks, the dealership finally followed through on honoring their warranty, and these friends got back their car. We will never again deal with this company. read more

I brought in my 2025 Kia Carnival, a brand new vehicle, because the AC doesn't work which is completely unacceptable for a new car. and it's been over 3 weeks with no repair or replacement. After all the delays and no clear resolution, I when to pick up the vehicle even though the issue still hasn't been fixed. I'm now back with a faulty car and no support. Meanwhile, I'm still making payments on a vehicle that's not functioning properly. When I asked for a loaner, I was told I had to add it to my personal insurance even though the delay and issue are not my fault. I'm really frustrated by the lack of accountability, and overall customer service. We had been looking for a specific model, color, trim, and options Kia for over a month. Finally found what we wanted at Kia of Carson. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and competent. They were able to hold it overnight for us. We came in the next day. The place is clean. Our salesman even offered us waters. Purchasing was quick considering all the paperwork. We did not finance which made it even quicker. They didn't offer KBB value for our trade-in but we didn't feel like negotiating. In and out in about 2 hours with a brand new Wolf Gray 2023 Sorento. They have been following up see how we are doing, how we enjoy the car, if we have any questions. Extremely satisfied with our experience. Highly recommend. read more

Do not do business here. This is by far the worst ran dealership I have ever had contact with. Their staff seems to be ran by people with zero customer service or interpersonal skills. My girlfriend had her car towed her due to the very common Kia engine failure due to a recall and they would not honor the recall. They said since we didn't answer the mail notice (we never got a mail notice) that they were not liable for the recall anymore. At every turn this dealership had absolutely horrid customer service. Kia in Carson service department is the worst service department a customer could ever have. I had a recall on a part that would cause a fire if it wasn't repaired. From the very start I was suspect that I was going to be in deeper than I thought. The day I took the car for service they kept it all day and talked me into getting an oil change that day. At the end of the day I had not been called. I called them to see if my car was ready. In going to pick it up they told me the part that was needed to repair our car they didn't have it, and I would have to come back another day. So after being convinced that I needed an oil change. I went ahead and authorized them to charge me for the oil change. The second time that I came back to get that same recall fixed. I made an appointment and was there 10 minutes before my appointment was scheduled and didn't have a ride home and was told they would get me a uber. After multiple times of trying to schedule the Uber, I was told by the customer service person that there must be some type of glitch in the system. Another customer service person interjected and said they can always call their own Uber and we will reimburse them for it. After that I went and booked my own Uber and waited at home until they told me my car was ready for pickup. Before I returned, I spoke with the person on the phone about the reimbursement and they said that I didn't qualify for it now because I lived out of the range of their coverage. Wow!! Nevertheless, I ended up getting a uber and not being reimbursed for it. I will never go back to this service department. I believe my service representative's name was Pamela and she did her best to embarrass the service department. I felt like there was a bait and switch in the exchange and promises made that they didn't honor. At the end of the day. I've decided not to ever let them work on my car or anyone else that I know that owns a Kia. They can't give me any direction or advice how to repair our car. Even if I get another recall for a part, which I was never responsible for, I will go to some other service department besides theirs. Tiffany in service just helped with recall notices on my Kia optima SXL. She was amazing. She walked me through how KC and Kia and she would handle getting the recalls reviewed and fixed. WOW. SHE US SO KNOWLEDGEABLE AND GAVE ME AMAZING SERVICE. She should train all your other service reps on her process and how she works with customers giving such outstanding service an answered very complicated issues clear and concise. I always service at Kia of Carson because it's the closest to my house and most convenient for me. The customer service sucks, nobody wants to call you back or even when they transfer you to another department/ person, it just keeps dialing for a long time and later then gets dropped. Today I had called in for replacing a windshield. I go from calling the service center to them explaining their third party does that, so for the exact price they would need to transfer me to them. As she transferred the call just keeps dialing then later ended up getting dropped. I tried that for 2 times back to back to just keep getting the call transferred but always ended up waiting and then getting the call dropped due to a long time of hold. Then again I call again because I really need to get my windshield fix today as it is getting worse and the crack is expanding. The lady then transferred me to parts to at least get an idea of how much it could cost. As soon as they picked up Alex put me on hold again, I was so tired I chose the call back option but never got one back. A couple hours later I tried calling their parts again, just like the last time, as soon as they picked up I didn't even get the chance to speak, a representative put me on hold leading the call to just ending up getting dropped. I know they are busy but they need to a better job because their customer service is horrible. read more

I hate car shopping, but this one went fairly smooth, like with any purchase, after the sticker shock you transition into negotiation mode , it was a tough battle, but at the end of the day, I was satisfied with my experience. I was less thrilled with the price of my trade in, but then again, it had over 200k in miles, and the dealer did offered to drive me to CarMax to trade it in. This dealer tried to stick me a faulty used BMW i3. Day after I sign a purchase contract I took it to a German car svc shop and paid $120 to get a full diagnostic. Hour later I get 4 pages of faults in the car. Estimated cost $5000. This after their speech about state regs require a full inspection and check. To add insult to injury they wouldn't waive the restocking fee of $500 if returned within 3 days. This was not buyers remorse. It was a faulty car they sold me and they've put it right back on sale. The staff was unprofessional, often shouting over one another and making inappropriate jokes. One employee even said to another, "We don't have heart here; nobody here has a heart." The offices were left open during negotiations, so I could hear everything, including each customer's yearly earnings and one agent pressuring a customer to lie to the finance company. Even though I DID end up leasing a car here, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. After negotiating a deal via email with "Kabir," I scheduled an appointment with him. However, upon arrival, I was shuffled between different staff members and was eventually told that Kabir was off that day, despite our morning communications. This raised my first red flag. Also, on a hot day of about 95 degrees, my wife and I weren't even offered a bottle of water. Every dealership I've ever been to has offered me some sort of refreshment no matter what the weather was. Although the sales rep was friendly, the Sales Manager, Adam, told me I needed to pay a higher down payment and monthly payment than agreed upon. I showed him the emails with Kabir, who I suspect might be an AI chatbot. Adam first refused the terms, but later reluctantly honored the deal after I prepared to leave, but he mumbled a quick "congratulations" and avoided eye contact. If you negotiate online, make sure the "out the door" prices include all taxes and fees. The only reason I got the deal I wanted was because I had those emails as proof. When it came time to sign paperwork, the staff seemed annoyed that I took the time to read through the documents. They rushed me, and even though I knew a lot about the car, they only explained the features and contract details when I asked specific questions. After receiving the keys, I noticed the car was dirty, with a brown substance on the rear fender. I asked them to wash it, but even then, the windows were streaked. I decided to leave and clean the car myself. To top it off, they forgot to take the car out of dealership "shipping mode," so I had to research how to change this myself. Even with an appointment, I have to wait between 3 and 5 hours just to have my vehicle checked or serviced. The service advisors are a total joke. They are the middle person between the mechanics and the customers, but they seem to avoid customers as much as possible. They ignore text messages, emails, and phone calls. Especially after 5pm, no one answers the phone at the service desk. They are more interested in looking at their cellphones than in helping customers. They never have courtesy vehicles available. They don't seem to care how much money customers spend at their dealership. It would also be nice to have some water and coffee available for customers. It is July 2023, and COVID-19 is no longer an excuse. read more

I strongly advise against using Kia Carson for vehicle service. When I dropped off my Kia Niro for a battery replacement, the dealership left my car unlocked in an unsecured outdoor lot having it exposed to get burglarized by transients camping under the nearby 405 freeway bridge right next to it. I expect my vehicle to be secure when I pay for professional service.This basic security lapse is unacceptable! Service Advisor VanessaEspinoza insisted my failing battery wasn't under warranty and quoted me $900 out of pocket, despite me insisting that the battery replacement is under warranty. The technician's "diagnostic"--which I suspect was never properly performed--concluded my battery was fine. After three days in their care, I was told my car was in "perfect condition," only to have the battery correctly diagnosed and replaced under warranty in under three hours at Kia Cerritos. When I escalated my concerns to Manager Cesar Arzate, he was dismissive and provided no assistance. Between the security failure, misleading warranty information, inadequate diagnostics, and unresponsive management, Kia Carson falls far below the standard of competent, trustworthy service. If you value your vehicle's safety and expect honest, efficient service, I recommend you take your business elsewhere. They have no business being open to the public! They are Horrible!!! read more
