The grounds of the place are gorgeous! The restaurant was just ok. The French toast balls were good and papaya fruit bowl was good. Nothing that stands out. The service was pretty slow even for island time. Everyone was very nice though.

Cafe onsite at Kiahuna Plantation at Outrigger Absolutely delicious breakfast. Delicious. They have full coffee options (latte, cappuccino, etc) tea, chai, hot chocolate. Juice. Pancakes. Traditional breakfast. Spam. Portuguese sausage. Bacon. Three Benedict options. Breakfast burritos. Paniolo. A couple of options I am not recalling. Everything was fresh. The service was fabulous. The owner or restaurant manager was involved and very friendly. Inside they had these massive brownies. I wanted one but did not grab one. They had a couple of other Breakfast goodies as well. I think they may serve other meals as well but I only had brekky here. Only lanai seating and a pretty view (that I was aware).

The turtles on the beach were faster than service here. After an hour wait we were told they hadn't started cooking our food yet. The service team was pleasant and comped us our coffees and a pastry but I can't recommend going as we never received our food. Atmosphere was pleasant

We've enjoyed Kiahuna Sunrise Cafe, so we were excited to return during the soft opening of their new dinner service, After Sunrise. The biggest attraction may be the setting itself. The restaurant is located in the beautiful Kiahuna Plantation Gardens, one of the most memorable dining locations on Kauai. The orchids, cactus gardens, and tropical landscaping create a peaceful atmosphere that is especially magical in the evening. Many longtime visitors will be happy to see this beautiful property once again serving dinner. The food was excellent. The Ahi Cucumber Boat was fresh, creative, and delicious. The Jalapeño Poppers were a hit, and both the Mango-cado Salad and Crab Cakes were flavorful and well prepared. The Island BBQ Ribs were tender, delicious, and served with a fantastic sauce. The service was equally impressive. Our waiter was charming and attentive, the manager was welcoming, and the couple overseeing the restaurant made us feel genuinely appreciated. The chef deserves special recognition for delivering such a thoughtful menu and executing it so well during the restaurant's opening week. For a team only a few nights into dinner service, everything felt remarkably polished. We are thrilled to see dinner return to this beautiful garden setting and look forward to many future visits for breakfast, lunch, and now dinner as well.

Fantastic! So sorry for the previous reviews ; all because of their soft opening and people were impatient of waiting- they are a brand new establishment and doing a fantastic job! Highly recommend it. Their kids menu great options, their french toast to die for and then I got their papaya sunrise - so yummy. Service was friendly. Still waited because they are busy, they wouldnt be busy if they werent good. So dont listen to the reviews. Come, even if you are staying on the plantation or not. A great spot to try while on the island. Coffee (got their iced ube; so good), pastries and wonderful breakfast items. Thank you for making our families morning.

    Crab Cakes Benedict

The lattes and food were delicious, and I particularly enjoyed the Crab Cakes Benedict. We'll be back!

I would give this place a 10 star if I could!! The food was AMAZING! Idk how this place got bad reviews. Maybe they were understaffed that day. If I ever come back to Kauai I am DEFINITELY making the drive here. We drove over an hour and it was well worth it! It's been hard for us to find good food on this island.

Large portions; you get TWO eggs Benedict! Crab Cake on the right.

We love eating here as we stay nearby when on Kauai. The setting is AMAZING (large water garden with orchids) and it's just a perfect and peaceful sun-rise location for breakfast, which is a rare treat on Kauai! Good coffee and some unique and delicious items (eggs Benedict) on the menu.

Super friendly service too. The only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is the Malasadas. They aren't the best. Maybe I'm spoilt by the ones I had at Maui (sugar beach bakery) but these were not good. Got a box of 6 and only had half. I would avoid these if you have had good malasadas before. Parking is super easy as it's in a strip mall and morning there is plenty of parking. It's also 10-15 min walk to poipu beach!

My favorite was the Shippy's Bowl with a nice scoop of greek yogurt on top. The acai base here was the best I had on Kauai as I love a more tart acai and most of the other places we tried were on the sweeter side or just a bit bland. The bowls always tasted fresh with ripe fruit! We also tried their mac nut latte and it was solid too but I prefer my coffee a bit stronger. The line can get long here and we did try ordering ahead for pick-up the last day we went but beware that the pick-up times can be an hour later. I noticed that it seemed like they didn't start preparing our order until after I showed a staff member my pick up time/receipt so it might just be a way to skip the line rather than a true pick up an already prepared order system. Either way, it's worth coming to try their acai bowl, just be ready for a wait!

I enjoyed my iced mac nut latte, but they have a variety of other creative drinks you may want to try too. I loved my bagel sandwich (the pesto schmear is heavenly), and my sister loved the P.K. acai bowl she tried. I feel like you can't really go wrong here with whatever you want to order. Side note, one morning we tried to place an online order and they were totally out of bagels, so just prepare to be flexible. Also, the prices here are lower than my other nearby favorite, Java Kai, so it's well worth a visit in you're staying on or visiting the south short of Kauai.

I ordered a hot matcha latte with oat milk, and the matcha already comes pre-sweetened per the barista. It tastes very similar to Starbucks matcha, not horrible but not great either. A little too sweet for my liking and not enough of the matcha flavor comes through. The color also wasn't the correct shade of green for good quality matcha, but I'm someone who likes to make my matcha at home and rarely find ones at coffee shops that I actually like, so take my review with that in mind, if you're a casual matcha drinking then you would like their version. It doesn't dry your tongue out or have a bitter taste. The following day I decided to try their coffee and ordered a hot vanilla oat milk latte. It was just okay, the espresso is a little more on the acidic side and I couldn't taste any vanilla flavor. Definitely not the worst latte I've had in Hawaii, but for the cost of lattes nowadays, I wouldn't come back to try more of their menu until I try other local coffee shops first. Pros: Plenty of parking right out front, good amount of seating inside, clean bathrooms, wifi, they sell their coffee beans and merchandise including shirts and hats which are super cute, there is also a small shop inside the same building that sells clothing/candles/bags/etc and the store employee is super nice

Although it was one of our favorites, I just want to point out that the prices are a bit high compared to other nearby spots like Little Fish Coffee (their coffees, breakfast sandwiches etc were all at a lower price range in comparison). Also, if you place an online order, they add an 18% gratuity to the order. I'm sorry. It's one thing to require an 18-20% automatic gratuity at a restaurant for large parties but for picking up takeout breakfast sandwiches and coffee I don't really think anyone should be forced to pay a gratuity for takeout. It's not table service, it's takeout and that really should be optional for the customer regardless of whether they order online or in person. In the future, unless I'm really pressed for time (we were on that particular occasion as we had a Na Pali boat excursion to get to), I would just wait in line and avoid the online ordering.

The first thing I'll mention is the variety. There were approximately 10 hot food items on their main hot food table with options ranging from kalua pork hash, to frittata, to mango mahi. Plus they switched out all options each day to make sure the buffet wasn't repetitive. The quality of these items was generally great. But they had much more beyond the main hot food table. The fresh juice shots were always a highlight for us. Also the pancakes/french toast bar, which always had a good local twist like taro or ube mixed in. And make sure to dig into the fresh fruit spread. They have good sweet baked goods as well, but I think the bread/bagel cabinet is the only miss at this buffet. The bread options just weren't good quality. I still give 5 stars, because even without freshly baked breads, we still had a plethora excellent options. If you are staying at Grand Hyatt Kauai, this buffet is a great option. Especially if you want to fill up on brunch and not go out to eat again until dinner.
