I have had more then one set of Metolius Cams and nuts "walk away" or accidentally hitch a ride to Australia, but I have always replaced them. I love the tcu's for rock climbing and the ultralight mastercams are easier with thick gloves. In my experience- they are harder to break and dont stop working like some other cams, especially in the smaller sizes. Their cams are a harder aluminum and extremely durable and they have a smaller camming angle(more outward force) than any other cam while keeping a larger active range(fact check me here as the latter statement may be wrong) Their harnesses are much more comfortable and even their gear loops are rated to 3kn! I hated aid climbing until I bought their Waldo Harness. They clean, lube, inspect, fix, and re sling all of their cams for a very reasonable (stupid cheap) price. I have had them do this at leas twice in my fifteen years of climbing and they come back almost better than new. Everything they do is made in the U.S.A by climbers. The reason that I am making a glowing review is because I have loved their gear and spent a lot of time with it, but I also had an amazing recent experience with them. I visited their shop to drop off some cams to re-sling. They not only gave me some really nice swag, but they took the time to put a couple extraneous stitches in my harness (for a personal aesthetic) and a gear sling I had damaged. When I got my previously mangled cams back, they were simply gorgeous! My cams were really beat up, and I told them that I didn't expect them to fix a couple(a spring blew, and I had damaged some spacers on some after 15 years of beating on them). The staff fixed my gear, but they even sent me a replacement for one cam, which was over the top. I feel bad now having sent it in, as I wasn't expecting a replacement. These guys hearts are in the right place and I couldn't say more good about them. I just bought some more gear and I know Its going to last forever and continue to save my life. They have gone even more above and beyond in other ways but I'm getting long winded. To be honest, their skills and gear have many times been the difference between a fun time or an injury and/or death, and they continue to hold up when it counts.
