I finally tried Kickin Seafood tonight and I'm so happy that I did. We got the $67 seafood mix and chose 1lb Alaska crab legs, 2lbs prawns, 1lb of mussels, and it also included sausages, corns, and potatoes. The sauce we chose was the Kickin style, which was a perfect mix. It wasn't too spicy since we requested mild (not my choice), but next time when I'm by myself, I'm definitely choosing garlic and medium. I love the flavors though. Everything was delicious and it was a lot of food for the price. In addition to this, we also got the fried oysters with Cajun fries for $8 something. The oysters were extra crispy with the right amount of seasoning. The oysters were fresh and it doesn't have that seafood after taste. I love this place already and I hope they have a location in salt lake valley. Now let's talk about their service. Everyone was friendly, made us feel welcomed, and ensured we that our drinks were refilled. We need a place in Salt Lake Valley other than bucket of crawfish, the overpriced with bad customer service place. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this place! The number 3 combo of snow crab legs, shrimp and crawfish was absolutely delicious (we opted for the shelled shrimp). We got the Cajun seasoning and got it mild and the seasoning was really, really delicious. The corn, potatoes and sausage were all great as well. We got Cajun fries and hush puppies to start and they were also good and a larger serving than expected. I would recommend finishing them before the rest of the food comes because they weren't as good after they'd cooled down. read more

My wife and I love Cajun food and we have tried lots of these places, and after reading other reviews we we skeptical. But for $19.99 for a pound each of crawfish, shrimp and mussels... with potatoes, corn and sausage thrown in... well it was great! We got the garlic butter sauce with medium heat and it hit the spot. The corn was sweet and fresh and the seafood was good. We were worried about the crawfish not being great since they were out of the 'fresh' for the $2 upcharge, but even the (I assume frozen) version was really good. I don't know what others are expecting but for $20 it was a great meal! So glad there is a place like this in Orem and I hope business picks up for them. They are open until 10 on weeknights, not 9 as google reported. We will be back and often. read more

Honestly I dont like shrimp but my family loves it here and they wont stop going i just order the chicken nuggets there kinda good but my family love the shrimps here. The service here is really good could be a little faster with the drinks. Also it no that loud here it moderate for me. I recommend this place if like shrimps. Last week was the first I'd ever heard of Kickin Seafood but it's now one of my favorite restaurants. I wasn't sure what to expect since the last time I had any real Cajun food was back in '84 at the World's Fair in New Orleans and that was a single shared bowl of gumbo. I love seafood in general, but don't usually order it here, because well, Utah is not exactly near a good source of fresh seafood. I was running late so I had to trust my brother to order for me . . . for a reasonable $20 I got a huge bag with 1# shrimp, 1/2# mussels, delicious sausage, corn on the cob and red potatoes. I got the garlic butter seasoning with mild heat - it was perfect! Just a little bit of heat, not too much biting me back. I've attached a picture of my leftovers - I ate all the mussels, quite a few of the shrimp and sausage and didn't want to get overstuffed. You can see just how big all the shrimp are, nice and fresh and very tasty. I ended up with three meals, I could've easily stretched it to four, for the $20. Edgar was our server and was an absolute delight. Very attentive and helpful and knows that flattery will get you anywhere. I'll be back as often as possible and sending friends as often as I can tell them about this great little restaurant. read more

Pulling up I wasn't sure what to expect. The outside is nothing fancy. Once you enter you are greeted with a nautical pirate themed restaurant. You sit down to a table with a plastic cloth ready for the cajun boil you are about to partake in. This was a team business lunch and we are a bunch of hungry guys. We have been to similar cajun boil places out east. After hearing there was a place that did crab boils here we had to try it out. We ordered many different appetizers to try. Everything came out great and was well prepared. Then on to the meals. We all ordered a variety of options and spices from the menu. The prices are comparable to many of the similar cajun boils we have been to. The food came out at a great pace and was great temperature. If you have never been to a cajun boil before the main thing you should know is that it is messy. You are meant to eat with your hands and that helps spread the sauce all over the meal. It is best not to wear anything too nice. The flavor of the medium kickin style sauce was awesome. The service was great and our waitress was very attentive. She answered questions and made suggestions which were great. With regards to covid, the staff was all wearing masks and we were sufficiently socially distanced from other parties. Utah County's Hot & Juicy. From the outside, it doesn't look like much! It's kind of tucked in behind Trader Joe's and Wells Fargo Bank in Orem off of State and University Parkway. Walking in, the place was clean from what I could see. There weren't many people in the restaurant but it was almost dinner so the rush was on it's way. We had a party of 5. 3 adults, two kids. Our waitresses name was COCO and she was SUPER friendly! Coco asked us what we wanted to drink right away. Once she brought the drinks, she asked us if we needed any recommendations. We ordered the French fries, 6 raw oysters and fried calamari as appetizers. The French fries were cooked perfectly - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They did need salt because it was kind of bland. The fried calamari was amazing! They were seriously huge freaking squid rings! The oysters mmm mmm! We put the Kickin Style sauce on it to enhance the flavor! For our main meal, we went with the combo deal number 4! We ordered the Kickin' Style sauce which is Cajun, lemon pepper, garlic butter and garlic sweet chili with the fire spice level. Yes we did! We ordered the king crab, clams, shrimp and mussels. The combo also came with corn, potatoes and sausage. We also ordered a side of rice with it! Coco brought us a bucket to put trash in, extra gloves and bibs, crab crackers and scissors before she brought our food out. The time to prep and cook our food was fast. Seriously! NO COMPLAINTS there. Our food was good! We were disappointed because the seafood wasn't properly cleaned. Every time I bit into a clam or mussel it had gritty sand and rocks in it so I had to stop eating it. The spice level was NOT spicy at all. It was more mild! All the portions were pretty decent for the price. Especially the appetizers. The restaurant was cool, lots of decoration and I would say it is family friendly. They do have kids meal options. The bathrooms were clean and before the bathrooms there was a legit sink for people who didn't need to go to the bathroom to wash and clean their hands. Another reason as to why I am only giving 4 stars is because there were ants on the floor by our table. Hate ants and you never want to see ants inside a place you are eating at. This place was so on point for that Cajun Style Meal I was craving. First off the menu is simple so it won't take long to know what you want. I ordered the number 1 meal and soft shell crab. Way way to much food. I ate as much as I could but 1/2 pound of shrimp, 1/2 pound of Crayfish, 1/2 pound of mussels along with potatoes, corn, and sausage. It was insane. Amazing flavor in every bite except maybe the corn it was kinda mushy. The service was awesome amd it's a cool atmosphere with lots of seating, TVs, and even a wash area towards the middle to clean up after all the food. I will. Went to Kickin Seafood on a Monday evening. We had decent expectations from the reviews we had read, but we were blown away by how delicious it was! Even people in our party who weren't as excited as we were, due to it being a seafood place, loved it! My wife and I got the number 1 convo with head off shrimp, crawfish, and mussels, with the Kickin Style sauce, (All the sauces combined) mild spicy level. The food was phenomenal. Super flavorful, just a small amount of heat from the Cajun and chili sauces mixed in, and there was plenty of it! We decided that a number 1 combo (1 1/2 pounds of seafood, plus corn and potatoes) is good for two people who don't eat a lot, or it would be good for one very hungry person there to eat a lot. The other combos have even more food. Our group also got Po Boy Sandwiches which were big hits and a bowl of Gumbo which was delicious! Also, the corn was absolutely delicious in the sauce. It was a surprising gem of the meal. They have hand washing stations right out in the eating area because this gets messy. They give you bibs and plastic gloves if you want. I used the bib but not the gloves. (Too hard to handle the stuff for me personally but others used the gloves and did fine) About half the tables were full when we were there, so a decent group but definitely not crowded which was super nice. Service was great, super friendly, and brought us plenty of drinks throughout the night. Overall it was an incredible meal and we will absolutely be returning to try more stuff. We're very excited to try their crab, for example, which we didn't get this time around. I can not recommend it enough. Don't bother. Went in to try the new restaurant. Decent appearance on the outside. The staff is Asian like the previous restaurant (Chins). The dinners are very expensive compared to Red Lobster. Ordered a grilled shrimp Po boy sandwich. The sandwich came with fries that were average, but the shrimp was something that looked like it came out of a can that you would put on a salad. There were probably 8-10 pieces on each half. No taste!!. My wife ordered the soft shell crab. They threw the whole crab in the fryer and slapped it on the bread, claws and all, Yuk!!. I loved this place so much! It's fun and there isn't another like it in the Provo/Orem area. The waiters are nice, the food has great portions. Most importantly the food is super tasty. Really poor food quality here. Paid the extra money for the shrimp to be headless and they still didn't prep the shrimp before cooking so we were left with shrimp with full intestines. Super gross. And the crab was uncleared as well. Tons of grit and just tasted old and fishy. I love Cajun food and this is the worst I've had in utah valley. Add to that that even though their menu says for each lb they will throw in a potato and some corn, they wouldn't do that because while we each got a lb of food it was in two 1/2 lbs. a half of shrimp and a half of crab. read more

Been there four times, I have family in Orem, and this is the closest crab boil them.. it's cute that they let the patrons write their names on walls.. you can sit and look at names to see any familiar ones. Lots of Polynesian names on the walls; we love our seafood. The service is good 6 out of 10 every time I went. the visit that stands out the most to me, my server was Jorge. We had a larger group, a birthday eating. He was overly friendly, better than bad service, but kinda extra. Calling me "my friend, my best friend" after the third time annoying! I like to ask my servers their suggestion, if they answer right away and elaborate on their menu choice, they know their product, big plus! If they half ass it, they aren't even familiar with their product, kind of a flag. It could Be because we had a really big order, but some of the order was was wrong, the shrimps were supposed to be shelled heads on, it came no heads (that's where the flavor is lol) the appetizers came same pretty much a minute or two before the entrees, again maybe because group and order size. Huge portions, a good price for so much seafood, fairly good quality, we were not dissatisfied at all. The crab legs were a little skimpy, the shrimp were large and plentiful. First I want to say, this isn't our first time here and I thought I'd already left a review! Whoops! Each time we have been it's been amazing! The food fresh, drinks never below half, and Coco and JG giving us the best customer service! Tonight was another good experience, but not great. Unfortunately, our two servers were not very attentive but one tried her best. Also, I felt like the seafood wasn't as cleaned as they usually do. There was grit in the sauce at the bottom of the bag and barnacles it seem to be on the crab?! Very disappointed on that aspect! Which has never happened to us before! Hoping the owner/manager sees this to get in the back for quality control because we've never experienced this here! On another positive note, we tried the fried calamari tonight after checking Yelp photos and DANG! So so so good, fresh, crispy, and that sauce is BOSS as mg husband says, lol.
