Very cute spot. My kids were cold so we weren't able to sit outside (which looked nice) but overall the ambiance inside was quaint. My kids ordered the pizza and Mac & Cheese off the kids menu. The meal sizes were very generous for the kids. My daughter ordered the Cilantro Lime skewers of the shareable plates and they were absolutely delicious. The hummus was a decent size and tasted great and severed with warm pita. My only complaint would be the portion size for the Greek salad. For a $10 entree salad it was the size of a small side salad. Overall I would recommend this cute spot! read more

Hubby and I were headed to a restaurant that ended up being closed, saw this and pulled in. We give it a solid 4 stars. Food was really excellent - some dishes I would have given 5 stars. All the food was fresh. Selection could be better - lots of small plates but not many large plate choices. We tried the avocado small plate and the Brussels sprouts- avocado 5 stars, sprouts 4 stars (though, honestly, I can't imagine ever giving sprouts 5 stars, so maybe that's not fair?). We sat outside in light of Covid and were fairly comfortable. Our server was nice and willingly moved our seats when we asked, not seeming put out. She was not as attentive as she could have been overall. I was about to go and find her when she finally came to the table. My Big Fig Newton mixed drink tasted only of bourbon (very disappointed- don't recommend this one - I would have preferred a less expensive bourbon and Coke). Hubby's drafts were good. He had the lamb gyro and I had the Au poivre burger. His 4 stars, mine 5. Great burger but just be aware it comes with mayo on it. Had a delicious mushroom gravy for dipping- yummy. Stopped by with friends for Friday Dinner.. We had reservations so no wait. Tried their Goatmilk coctail which was made with ouzo and was very tasty. For appetizers we had Beet salad which was OK. Spinach dip was good, Shrimp and creamy polenta was very good. Dinner, two of us had their leg of lamb medium, it was served medium well and was very tough, we both ordered their cream white bean side and that was very good. Someone had the trout which was excellent, and another had their prime rib and sausage which they said was good. Overall this place was okay. Probably won't rush back here. Tough Experience here tonight: we brought out of town friends here excited to share the great atmosphere. However, Service. Was. Painful. Twice I got up from my table to wait at the kitchen door for assistance and I was ignored by other servers. First time I went to kitchen was because my meal was not delivered 20 minutes after the other 5 friends at my table ate. Second time I needed a to-go box. This was a beautiful restaurant the was open with a cross between industrial and natural. The spinach dip was fresh and not to heavy, but if you ask for the gluten free option they give you celery and carrots witch did not go with the dip. Ask for chips they have them. The burgers we had were great and cooked well and the gluten free bun was pretty good. My friends only complaint was that the bottom bun on her regular sesame bun was soggy from the toping but she still ate the hole thing not a deal breaker. Great meal! I was in Charleston for a weekend trip and found this spot. A great choice! They have a separate vegan menu so I got the vegan caesar-avocado salad and asparagus plate. Delicious! The salad was filling and the asparagus was grilled to perfection. My significant other got the Mac Daddy burger and it was huge! Our service was good and the decor was cute. Service was so nice. Finally got to try kid cashew! I really liked the salad with oranges in it(forgot name) and the octopus. The Brussels sprouts were pretty meh and the Mac and cheese wasn't as good as I somehow expected! The food is good quality and clean cut which I really appreciate! I do wish they didn't put super sour seasoning on everything, the food needs a few tweaks to be perfect. Also didn't think the quinoa went with the octopus at all! Try some potato chunks with chimichuri with the octopus? Not sour quinoa! Or sour and bitter Brussel sprouts I'll be going again. Our server was lovely he took off almost everything off our check because we had to wait for our food too long. Glad there's healthier eating spots! My absolute favorite is the roasted Brussel Sprouts and the Meatballs! They are small plate/large tapas and shareable. My hubby had the homemade gyro and fries. We wanted to love this addition to the dining scene, but came away a bit let down. The space is very attractive, with warm wood tones and attractive lighting. We sat in a comfortable booth in the bar area. Our server was pleasant, but slow to greet us and disappeared for long stretches. We suspect they may be short of staff. We started with homemade hummus, which was very tasty and was served with lovely soft pita triangles. Two of us ordered lamb burgers, which were very good indeed. Loved the condiments on the burger, and the fresh brioche bun. Side salad of quinoa and kale was fresh, but a bit uninspired-could have used some lemon juice. The gyro came out cold and had to be sent back to the kitchen when we were finally able to flag down our server. It was returned warm and with an apology. The salad we ordered was pretty, but came without any hint of dressing, so was a bit boring. A side of Brussels sprouts, however, was outstanding. So we think there is talent in the kitchen, but it is being applied unevenly. We would go back for a lamb burger, but for the moment, not much else. Well, maybe some Brussels sprouts. read more

I love Kid Cashew in Charlotte. Here, you'll find a quieter restaurant along Ben Sawyer. The food doesn't meet the standard of the Charleston area but is pretty good. We usually get a bunch of sharers and nibble and have wine so have tried almost everything. The service is lacking but I've been three times and it was a tad stronger on my last visit. Kid Cashew took the place of Triangle.. one of our go to spots. That said they layout in similar with lots of great outdoor seating! Though I heard a few rough reviews from the first week or two I had a very pleasant experience both times I went. The burgers are great, the appetizers were good, we loved the cast iron mac and cheese and the polenta. No skimping on the cheese! Been to Th Kid a few times and it gets better each time. First time had grilled sausage and white beans, and mac & cheese, mighty fine. Next time the Big Mac Daddy burger with basic potato chips, oh yes I'll get it again. Went on a very quiet Monday night and with the exception of a slow recognition of our presence, the rest of the meal was fantastic! We opted for a selection of the small plates: meatballs au poivre, greek chicken wings, beets with goat cheese, stuffed avocado and the grilled octopus. I went to Kid Cashew to try out their vegan brunch options, since they have an entire menu devoted to it. All the food was delicious and the vegan options were amazing. I had avocado toast, the stuffed avocado, and brussels sprouts, which was a much better vegan brunch than the typical side salad and potatoes a lot of places offer. It was a gorgeous day so we ended up sitting on the patio, which has a great atmosphere. The food and the atmosphere were so great that I ended up going back the next night for dinner, and I was equally impressed on that visit! read more
