Got wrong order, and crappy food won't be going back , very disappointed it use to be good

They did a good job enforcing their line outside. We ordered two chicken sandwiches and a hamburger and two garlic fries and one regular fry. The garlic fries were not good. Just normal fries with huge clumps of garlic thrown in. Not very appetizing. They also forgot my order of normal fries. I called them and they credited my account for the normal fries. Ordered our food, sat down and waited. Food was delivered with two orders of onion rings, I only ordered one, no tarter sauce that I ordered, with no beverages we ordered. I had to take the tray of food back up to the ordering area, and clear up the mistakes that were made. They tried to give me a Pina Calais Milk Shake that wasn't what I ordered. The fries and onion rings were not fresh or hot. The cheeseburger was good, but over priced for what we got. Overall, my wife and I had a bad experience at Kidd Valley Green Lake, and for the price, actually, we would of enjoyed our Burger Night at Dicks Drive In, at least we would of gone home with satisfaction. read more

Ah, Kid Valley. I miss your girl on the hamburger out front. And as much as she was a slightly poor representation of that style of art, she fit the place much better than the weird 'K man' holding out a burger in front of him in such a way that I'm sure he'll trip. But that being said, you treat me right, KV. I like that the sweet potato fries are now a permanent part of your menu, your regular fries are also delicious. I like that you have smaller portion sizes so I don't have to (but can) order a kid's meal. I like your burgers, they're good and flavorful without being too expensive, they're just above fast food, just below gourmet. I looooove that you have a grilled cheese sandwich option on the kids menu as sometimes, that is all the little one wants to eat. I love your chocolate malts, they are usually prepared just chocolatey and malty enough for my extreme need for c/m combo. I also love your secret shake. Sure, it's not really a secret if you have it on the wall but I still feel like I have some extra street cred knowing the special flavor. So it's not love, KV, but it's strong like. read more

Lol I am moving out of Seattle shortly and will not live by a Kidd Valley anymore, so naturally, I've heard so many good things about them over the year that I had to put them on my Seattle Bucket List before I left. I came in, ordered a cheeseburger, garlic fries, and a vanilla milkshake..wow, I was impressed! The burger was a good size, it was tasty, but the garlic fries and milkshake are where it's at! Best milkshake I've had yet in my life! I KIDD (haha, get it?) you not, lol. The prices are good, service is quick, we were even brought out food to our table by the staff, and they even offered us extra fries for free. Not sure why, but we were stuffed so we declined, but it was very nice gesture. The manager came by, asked how the food was, and we really enjoyed our time here eating. Kidd Valley is a Seattle burger institution. Their burgers are pretty good, but they're stuck in the past--just your basic burgers, nothing exciting. Tip to the owners: get crazy with the toppings. Sriracha ketchup? Yes please. Bacon jam? Ya sure, ya betcha. Have some more specials too! Mix it up and keep it fresh and interesting. They've got other options besides burgers (no salads though). They have sweet potato fries, if you like that. They have onion rings too, which I prefer--but I think they lack a certain something. I think it's the breading in their batter. I prefer a crispy, flaky beer-battered onion ring, personally. Anyhow, Kidd Valley is definitely a step up from your typical burger franchise. But it's not a place I'd go out of my way to visit. read more

Eating here is sort of like filling up your vehicle with tainted jet fuel. But not necessarily in a bad way. Luckily, we got there b/f the Little Leaguer clogged up the works, but missed getting one of the three parking spots. I ordered the veggie burger, some fries and a drink. S got the chicken sandwich and a shake. It was good going down. We both felt a little woozy afterward, but powered through it. Then about 2-3 hours later, we separately felt a very low low sugar crash due to all the simple and delicious sugars we ingested. Kidd Valley is definitely one of Seattle's time-honored burger shops -- since its founding in 1975 its been a reliable and fun place to get a burger, fries and a shake. I can't help but feel, though, that Kidd Valley's gone the way of so many other fast-food chains: gradually lowering the quality of ingredients. From the standpoint of the quality of beef, cheese, bun, chicken, even the fries, Kidd Valley hasn't kept pace with it's cousins Red Mill and Dicks. Year after year it's edged closer to McDonalds or Burger King (though it's still significantly better than either). It's shakes, on the other hand, are my favorite in the area. They are on par with Burgerville as far as I'm concerned! Too, the onion rings outperform any in the area with the exception of Red Mill. I remember hearing that Kidd Valley uses onions from eastern WA -- it definitely tastes like it, they're great. I still visit now and again when I'm feeling like a great shake, and the burgers and fries are solid enough to be worth a trip. read more

Me and the Hapa Boy, we are lazy-pants Sunday people. We managed with only the most Xtreme effort to make it to a movie today, but I have declared that Five Guys is not on the 'approved' list since they have no veggie option, and if you put a five pound bag of fries in front of me, I'm a gonna eat them. And that's not good. So we often find ourselves at Kid Valley, where the Hapa likes the shakes, and I like the gardenburgers well enough to avoid the line at Red Mill [where they are far superior]. Kid Valley is one of those places where it's good enough and cheap enough and gosh darn it, people like it. The sweet potato fries are tasty [although clearly frozen] and the shakes are human-sized and freshly, uh, shook. The gardenburger is huge, and slightly tasteless, but if you're going to be a vegetarian you know that's the price. [Also, I hate mayo so I always hold the special sauce, wherever I go] I am never able to finish more than half a gardenburger in a sitting, but I've discovered they nuke up well for day two. The real burgers here are so large, the Hapa Boy gets a kids burger, and he isn't a kid burger kind of guy. If small children are not your thing, avoid this place after soccer practice. The mothers often look so worn out, I want to pass out the napkins myself. I don't though, because people tend to look at you funny when you clean the ketchup off a strange kid and all. So to sum up: Good enough if you're in the hood, but I wouldn't make a special trip. read more

Everything here comes dripping with grease. The burgers are all right but super greasy (what do they do to the buns?). The onion rings are pretty good but come in a puddle of oil. The fries are usually on the soggy side and also arrive in a pool of grease. On the plus side the staff has been really nice about me or my kids dropping drinks on the floor--has happened too many times to admit--and throwing up in the middle of the restaurant--only happened once but that was enough. Ohhhh Kidd Valley... what can I say. For the price - you get what you pay for. The burgers are huge, messy and delicious. You can't go wrong with a good ole cheese burger. The fries are great too and you can't go wrong if you get an order of fries and a chocolate shake and dip the fries in the shake. I also love that they have a great variety of milkshakes too. I also recommend trying the onion rings if you like them. I think they are hands down my favorite in the city. It's quick, delicious and not as greasy as most other places! The Kidd has never disappointed me. I've been eating here for years, and though it's not the best burger joint, it is consistently better than good. The double bacon cheese burger: always great. I don't order much else from here because I know if I get something else, I'll still crave a dbcb. I recommend you order yours with swiss or cheddar, or else you get the default cheese (American), which is a little oily. They use a quality bacon, and this is all important in a bacon burger. Good bun, standard fixin's, nothing special, just a good burger done right every time. The fries are good, (ask for tartar) never too crispy or salty, but I'd rather have the onion rings. I personally thought the garlic fries were too garlic-y, but if there is no such thing as too much garlic in your mind, than have at it. The fried mushrooms are good too. The handmade milkshakes are spot on, and they come in at least a dozen flavors. The service is always friendly, not intrusive, so please tip them! read more

I've been going to Kidd Valley ever since I could drive! 40 years ago! The reason I know that, is because when I turned 16 and got my own car, I would volunteer to go get Kidd Valley burgers for our family on any given night. The burgers are succulent, juicy and made to order - delicious! The onion rings are giant and the coating is thin and crispy and usually falls off the onion ring so you gotta eat 'em fast... When I moved to the area and didn't have any food in the fridge I found myself stopping in constantly for the garden-burger at this location( random I know!). It has a hometowny feel even thought it is a local chain and is quick and easy. Hadn't been in a while until yesterday when I stopped in for a grilled cheese. For some reason Dick's didn't sound good and nothing in the area was appealing- I guess I was just having one of those random cravings. I ordered the grilled cheese kids meal. Perfect portion- small fry, sandwich, and drink- which I learned could be substituted for a milkshake- heck yes! Of course I had to do the substitution because I LOVE pumpkin (in a almost obsessive way- did you know you can make pumpkin hummus or pasta?*) which happened to be the season flavor. I will never forgive myself for passing by this restaurant so many times before going in. The veggie burger was fantastic and transported me back to my meat eating days. Went in hung over and craving a juicy, greasy burger. Opted for their new Kickin' BBQ Burger, with pepper jack cheese, crispy onion straws, and spicy bbq sauce. I'm sure it would have been great, but I couldn't taste anything but char. It didn't taste burnt, exactly, but the burger char was so overwhelming that it was all I tasted. It was a good-sized burger, if a bit overpriced (a lot overpriced if you take into account the taste), and the ingredients all looked great. Just couldn't taste any of them, unfortunately. The place is small and dumpy, and wasn't exactly clean, but the service was friendly and just the right speed.I'll likely give them another shot to see if this was a fluke, but I can't give more than two stars for a burger place that ruins a burger so horribly. read more

The burger was not so great, though. I would definitely prefer the Red Mill veggie burger to this one. A friend I went with said that she would prefer the Red Mill hamburger to her burger at Kidd Valley as well. So with that said, the beef is good. 1/4 of fresh beef on a sesame bun with fresh lettuce, tomatos, pickles, cheese (if desired), and some kind of secret sauce (mayonnaise and relish?). Fantastic! We decided to give this place a try wish we would have done McDonald's! The food was just okay but my onion rings where all clumped together the fries where greasy and no salt what so ever .. plus they did not get my order correct I asked for a bacon cheeseburger, a regular cheeseburger , fries, onion rings and the fish and chips with 3 strawberry shakes . When my order came it was missing the bacon cheeseburger well I told the young lady and although she was nice about it another employee came at me with a raised voice " what is the problem here" ! With such attitude but when I gave back what I was getting they became even more unprofessional so long story but I definitely won't do business again here and will share with friends and family to avoid this place since the food was not that good especially for the prices and the unprofessional attitude they give a customer! read more

I ordered the chicken club and it was VERY thin chicken and also wasn't cooked all the way through - save yourself and do not order. It was so gross I had to throw it out after just about 2 bites.
