DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY!!!! The general manager Michelle and the Owner of Kidd's towing will screw you over! I was hired on at the pay rate of 600 a week and it was a Monday from 8am to 5pm Monday- Friday. Once I started, the mechanic Danny Kidd( the owners brother) said well we work from 8 al to 530pm. I thought that's ok it's only an extra half an hour. Then he said that we would be working on Saturday, yes I said we. Well that was not the case, he Conned me in to working Saturdays alone. thought it was kinda funny that my manager never had me fill out any tax information. After the first week I kept asking "when will I fill out my paper work to get paid". Well that Tuesday day of the 2nd week I turn in my paper work I get a call from Michelle saying " we are going to cut your pay rate to 450 a week". I needed the job at the time so I had to go along with that. Let me remind you that that one pay period has gone by, this was under the $600 a week rate. But when I received my check it was for $400.00. Well they tried to cheat me out of the money that I was hired on at. Technically I should of also gotten 600 pay rate for the 2nd week since she called during a new pay period. I tried to contact Michelle and she refused to get in contact with me. So I had to call the home office in Wichita Kansas, that gave me the run around that I would need to speak with Michelle or the owner of Kidd's towing. Well how can I do that when they refuse to call me back. After threatening to come by every day until I could speak with Michelle. She finally called me back. She said the 2nd weeks check and the rest of my 1st paycheck would be in the mail. They never did send a check in the mail. I had to wait and extra week just to get paid. Michelle has to drop off the check at my apartment when she got off work. To top it all Michelle was being sued by a former towing company. She got surged the papers at the Olathe office. But she would not shut up about what was in the documents. He is very unprofessional, it also brings to question if the lawsuit was legit after she says it was all false. It's hard to believe that when she pulls the shady stuff to her own employees. The reason I was given on the pay cut was because no cars was sold from the lot, also there was not service work to be done. Well after a week of customers coming in wanting to by a car. They never did because the prices was way to high and we couldn't drop the price. The Owner is a greedy bastard. How is someone supposed to sell cars when they're not given any leeway on the price and Way overpriced the cars. Also Danny the mechanic got $1200 a week and he basically did nothing except for a few tow truck maintenance and mowing the lawn. And this is after he screwed me over making me think both of us were working Saturday and to find out that was not the case. If you are thinking about getting any service done or looking for a job with this company I strongly urge you to not. Our family had an accident 2015 on Thanksgiving, the tow truck driver took my wallet out of the car that was left in the car. After the accident, I tried to goto the inbound yard and retrieve the wallet, and was chased away, only to return to the inbound yard first thing in the morning and the wallet and all the cash was missing.......i understand that the accident was on Thanksgiving, and I am sure my insurance paid a premium for that, but to take the wallet, and cash right before black Friday......how wrong is that, to take from a family that just totalled their vehicle.....I would not trust the Kidds towing service for that reason alone...... read more

Worst experience with a tow service. I've had plenty of vehicles and would recommend AAA or Almighty Tow over this company any day. Although the young man that towed my vehicle was pleasant, Michelle in the office and the rounder young man with glasses were extremely adversarial to deal with. I called ahead to coordinate a time to collect my belongings from my vehicle in their lot, Michelle was curt and rude over the phone but I assumed she just wasn't having a good Monday. It was challenging to find their Merriam office. They have very little signage, in a window and easily blocked by a vehicle that was parked in front. I did find the lot and walked in the open gate assuming the office was inside one of the small buildings within, then their round employee with glasses threatened to call the police if I didn't go first to the office, yelling at me WHILE I was talking to Michelle to clarify where to find the office. Went here to pick up my car after it was towed. I was well aware it wasn't there fault for being towed. I went in at 8am to get it. The guy told me it would be 20min because no one was in yet and the fee was $210. I offered to get my insurance and reg myself but he wouldn't let me. Told him your sign says 8am and I need to be at work. He said to bad. Someone shows up and goes out to my car saying my insurance is there but no reg. I knew it was in there but he said to bad you have to get a copy. Went and got a copy and came back and he increased the price to $250. it had only been 35min! This guy is a prick! only reason it gets one star is for the nice man who pulled my car around and gave me some useful advice. This is the second time I've had a horrible experience in using Kidd's Towing through my Geico Insurance Road-Side Assistance. First time, the driver arrived an hour later than my initial quoted arrival time. When he arrived, I stated I didn't think anyone was coming & he told me... "if you want to get an attitude, I'll leave this motherfu*ker here & you can have your insurance call another company. I work for Kidd's, not your F'n insurance company so you don't ask me sh*+!" I ignored him because I was tired of waiting for 2 hours & was at his mercy. Yesterday when I called for roadside assistance, I was quoted a wait time of about 50 minutes from my initial call. After waiting almost 30 minutes, my initial driver was rerouted after he called me & said he was just 10 minutes away. I didn't know my untold driver was rerouted until another driver called me & said he was in route about 25 minutes out. I explained there was some confusion because I had already received a call (15 minutes prior) from a driver who was only 10 minutes out. I called that driver back; no answer. I then called dispatch to ask what was going on and some rude bi+ch named Bree(who was in Wichita - I'm in Kansas City) copped an attitude when I asked why my initial driver was rerouted when he was only 10 minutes away which then required me to wait an additional 45 minutes in the extreme heat. Bree said "I'm not telling you the reason & if you want to sit here & yell, I'll cancel your tow (I never yelled but rather asked a legitimate question in a civil tone). Really Bree? I had already waited an hour & you want to be a rude bi+ch over a simple, legitimate question from a customer that keeps you in business? The driver who did arrive was very nice & professional. I stated to him what Bree told me & he also said he could not stand working with her because of her nasty attitude & she was giving the company a bad reputation. Once my car was towed home, I called Bree back and told her how I really felt. I wouldn't pay that rude @ss bi+ch the clean my toilets & because of her nasty attitude. Both times I've used Kidd's they've rerouted the initial driver & made me wait longer than they initially tell you from the get go. You can't ask any questions because they'll threaten to cancel your call leaving to start the whole process over. Hopefully this gets to Bree so she realizes I'm it the only one who thinks she's a rude bi+ch! Kick rocks Bree... you should apply to work dispatch at a porta-potty company like Johnny on the Spot cause a lot of shi+ comes out your mouth. Horrible company with horrible service and no integrity!!! They were contacted at 7:30pm and gave us a 45 min wait time. It is currently 10:05pm and they still haven't arrived. They were called 3 times and gave an updated time saying they were on their way. Obviously, that was a lie. They should have said they couldn't make it, so we could call another company. My son has been on the side of the highway since 7:20pm, almost 3 hours now. Who does that? What a disgrace!! This is an UNACCEPTABLE way to do business!!! After a car accident my car was towed to Kidds as they said they would not tow it to a body shop as insurance would not pay for it. I agreed and had it towed to their lot. The following Monday I spoke to my insurance and they said to have it towed to the body shop of my choice. I called Kidds and asked them to tow it to the body shop. The lady said no the body shop would have to pick it up. I called the body shop and they said they spoke to Kidds and it was on their way. The following day my appraiser went to the body shop and my car was not there and was still at Kidds lot. I then had to conference the body shop and Kidds to figure out what the issue was. Kidds finally agreed to tow it to the shop. The lady at Kidds then hung up on us which is completely unprofessional. This delay was completely unnecessary and caused my insurance to pay for extra storage and another day of rental car as the appraiser won't go out for another day. In my opinion it's a conflict of interest for a towing company to also own a collision center as they try to keep the business. One star is too generous.After an accident, my insurance company hired this business to tow my car from a tow lot to a shop. We got nothing but lies and a runaround all day. They didn't show up every time we talked to them. They were always on the way or 5 to 10 minutes away...for 4 hours! I actually had a very positive experience with Kidd's Towing. They provided a flat bed tow for my luxury sedan on February 7th. It only took 20 minutes between initial dispatch and on-site arrival, the tow went without incident, and the tow truck driver and his assistant were very professional. read more
