I was hungry from shopping and wanted a healthier option at the mall. This was the worst quality sushi I've ever had, very disappointing.

Descending into the food court in the Queens Center Mall, it's easy to be beckoned to Kido Sushi with its eye catching sushi conveyor belt winding through the eatery. During Happy Hour, after 7pm, sushi plates run only $2. That includes large hand rolls on one plate and nori-encased salmon rolls, a plate consisting of about 3 pieces. Some of the sushi's are drizzled with sauce, others sprinkled with flakes. Selections also include seaweed plates. The plates are color coded by different prices, when it's not happy hour certain sushi's run as high as $6, which is pretty high. A full meal may be about 3-4 sushi plates, and the sushi's are good, but certainly not remarkable. Bento boxes run $6 and unlike sushi which is grabbed on the spot directly from the conveyor belt, bento boxes are made to order. I typically get the salmon bento. The salmon is hardly remarkable. Skinless, it's not crispy on the outside and soft in the inside the way I prefer my salmon prepared. It seems to have been steamed and sauce drizzled over it, rather than have the salmon cooked in the sauce which would enhance the overall flavor of the dish. Still, judging from the other options in the mall, Kido Sushi is a healthy alternative to Taco Bell and the like. As far as service is concerned, I find it odd whenever I've taken home leftovers, and I've been to Kido Sushi about 3 to 4 times now, I've always had to ask for a bag to carry my plastic container in. What does the staff expect me to do, carry a see-through plastic container containing salmon and sushi in my hand, or worse yet in my purse where it's contents would likely spill all over my belongings? Love love love this place its in Queens Center Mall and you would never thnk a place like this would be I love how they have the rotating Sushi Bar will all types of sushi even though I did pick any of it I still thought it was cool because I never seen anything like it before me and my best friend ordered the the lunch special for 6.99 how can you beat that we had salmon, rice, California Rolls, Miso Soup, and salad and I must say it was delicous and fresh then to top it of you get 40% off your frozen yogurt which was also delicous I had the cheese cake flavor they do need to have better toppings though but other than that I will attend this place again oh and the staff was very friendly read more

I went to eat sushi with a couple friends yesterday, service was terrible and the sushi quality was terrible as well. I asked for spicy mayo but the server just passed by me and said give me a second. She didn't come back till five minutes later, after I was already disgusted by the quality of the sushi. The rice that the sushi was made with was too sour, I couldn't even taste the avocado, kani, and the cucumber. My friend ordered the beef teriyaki, the beef was very hard and hard to chew and the teriyaki sauce was made poorly as well. Watching the sushi rotating around and around, I realized how badly the pieces were cut. Some were uneven and others just looked disgusting. If you're someone who wants good quality sushi, don't come here, you will be very disappointed. read more

What a big surprise as I walked down the escalators in Queens Center Mall. I totally wasnt expecting to see such a fun looking eatery. I havent been to the food court in a while so this took me by surprise. Immediately me and my best friend decided to eat here because we love sushi...although it did come across as not that much of an authentic sushi place, we figured we would give it a try. (how can you go wrong with simple california rolls to play it safe). Yumm Yumm Yumm. The food was delicious and the price was delicious too lol. The staff was very friendly and very quick service. I definitely prefer this over Mc Donalds any day. I recommend people to try something different when they go to this food court. Sometimes you never know what you might get :). read more

Sorry to say but I think this sushi resto only deserve a 2 stars rating since the taste of the food is very very standard and I found out that the sushi they served were not fresh. I once order a beef bento and I got really disappointed because the look of the food is just horrible. The rice they put were all messed up and look like a leftover. I will definitely won't come back to this restaurant again. However, the service is quite good so I think that's where my 2 stars rating belong to. read more

Come here if you don't want to venture off to the city for some conveyor belt sushi. It's a pretty convenient grab since its right inside the mall. If you're shopping and you get hungry AND you don't want your average fast food. You can always come here! (HINT: and there's dessert upstairs! ;) 16 HANDLES yo!) I came here during their happy hour one day half an hour before closing and got a decent meal. They were glad to seat us and although we didnt get a lot of plates they were okay with it too. I think we spent about 20ish here for a decent dinner. They had a very limited selection, but we went during closing so I can't comment much on that. It was mostly salmon rolls... not the best of quality BUT if you come here you're not really looking for QUALITY sushi, but just FUN FAST grabs. So it's not bad considering THAT fact. You really gotta keep that in mind though, or else you'll have a lot to complain about. I think the happy hour price is on par with the quality and perks of having fun grabbing whatever you want off the conveyor belt. AND it's something different from regular fast food at the mall. So definitely give it a try if you're looking for something different at the mall. OR if you don't want to venture off to the city for conveyor belt sushi, come here. :D read more

Nasty sushi. Stale--from the fish to the rice. What's a trip is that the two nasty Asian female servers are nice to everyone except other Asians. Being an Uncle Tom doesn't apply exclusively to African-Americans, as demonstrated at this place. When i ordered today there was an Indian guy and a white guy in front of me. The short haired Asian lady at the register was smiling and giggling over the two guys and when it came to me she became stern faced and nasty. Same with the Asian woman with brown dyed hair polishing silverware. Keep it up you nasty jerks. Your food is awful as well. read more

Came here during happy hour where all plates were $2. So glad it was happy hour, otherwise it really would not be worth it. Certain plates of sushi go up to $6 for 3 pieces of sushi. Say what?! Can't imagine how I can possibly enjoy a meal when I have to constantly be aware that if I choose an orange colored plate, my wallet would cry.. Thank god I didn't have to go through that. Anyway, the selection is very limited. The main ingredients are rice, nori, avocado, salmon and cucumbers. Nearly all the plates contained salmon. Didn't see any tuna, yellowtail, tako, or any of the other fishes. Saw an eel plate once. It was gone before it got to me and I never saw one again. Service was alright. Workers looked miserable. Manager's (the cashier lady) attitude was very uninviting. She never smiles. Seems like the only thing she's concerned about is getting people to pay. read more

Think these conveyor belt and price by color plate Japanese restaurant concepts are neat that I only see overseas and so far seen in other parts of the country. The place is in the food court of the mall so the ambiance of the place I would say is not complimentary to dining but excellent for a quick meal. Usually order seaweed salad and depending on what you order the prices can be average to steep which is best to wait at happy hour when the plate prices are a little lower. read more

Honestly, now that I've been around the block, I'd rather take the extra mile to Flushing for a better, more fulfilling experience (and an all-you-can-eat deal). The place here may be convenient, but I don't feel as if their plates are worth the extra twenty-five cents for the Happy Hour deal. The tolls here are so good. Especially the fried California roll and the queens roll. I don't eat raw food so I don't know how the raw sushi or rolls tastes. I've had many cooked dishes and rolls and they all taste fantastic. The teriyaki bento boxes and seafood udon soup taste really really good tooo. I come for the cooked rolls tho!! read more

It's a fun place to eat. I mean, it's basically an automat. It's fun, affordable and fast. what's not to like?

One of the few sushi joints with the oh so entertaining conveyor belt of sushi. It's nothing like the ones in Japan but it is still entertaining. However it does get dull and frustrating when your sitting at the end of the belt and basically have to snatch up to the good ones before they are taken. The prices are indeed high for certain types of sushi and I would only recommend going during happy hour which is 7:00 and after. Every plate is $2 but the selection is limited and the quantity per plate is too. For $2/plate it too is above average priced but I can settle. The customer service is however superb, all the waitress has been extremely nice and always tended to customers. Honestly this place would be great after a little night shopping and you just wanted to relax and be semi-entertained. Also as a tip try to sit as close to the front of the conveyor belts entrance as possible, you can thank me for later. read more

Another chinese sushi restaurant, so it taste ok. So waitresses are all Chinese, and some of them can't even speak English in a sentence. Therefore, I would rather pay more and go to a real Japanese restaurant in manhattan then have sushi in queens. read more

Believe it or not this place is decent.. Surprising to me as well, esp. to be in a Mall... Have eaten here like 10 times now, and have hit the happy hour many times. But like always nothing is ever perfect !!!! There Happy Hour specials use to be 2 dollars a plate and had more options and more rolls per plate, last time i was there its now up to 2.25 per plate and less options and less pieces on the plate SMH .. greed always catches up to decent places :( .. at 2.00 a plate and more varieties and more on each plate was a good deal, but at 2.25 a plate with less options and less pieces per plate deff not worth it...... :( .. Sadly another place I will prolly not go again unless im starving and at the mall... But at this Mall i love that other place Sakura that is near it with the delicious teriyaki chicken plates.. So to sum it up. use to love this place for the price and convenience and value of food for your money, but no longer :( ... Today was my first time going to Kido Sushi. I was surprised by its interior layout, which is rather unique for a restaurant, especially in the entire food court. I had the salmon and tempura rolls for the white plate order. The price was pretty fair since I got eight rolls in total. For the price, the taste was great. Customer service was excellent. The lady in front was courteous and maintained eye contact, which shows that she cares while making your order. Even the chef would stop for a second and accept your thanks. The Kido Sushi employees I've seen are nice people. I better come back for happy hour, according to some of these reviews! read more

mall. It was a conveyor belt service....new to me.....and It was happy hour. Every dish was 2 bucks. My husband ordered Udon. 6.99.....dont get it but the rest was not bad at all. We left there very full and only spent 28 Dollars. I just may go again. It was something different. read more

Conveyer bell sushi in the mall. It's fun and it attracts customers that want to stay away from regular food court food. The sushi here is surprisingly good. It's not really traditional sushi that you'd get at Japanese restaurants, but it's Westernized sushi with a lot of spicy mayo, eel sauce, etc. Big pieces of sushi with a lot of sauce. Not much variety, it's the same six or seven rolls made over and over again or changed slightly. You get charged for each plate, and the price of each plate depends on the color of the plate. Plates vary from $2-$6, and obviously, the better rolls tend to be $5 or $6. The roll with the lobster and avocado on top is the best in my opinion. The fried California rolls are great too, but they no longer offer it on the conveyer. You have to order it. You can order rice or noodle dishes and special rolls if you're not into what's on the conveyer belt. Definitely a must-try if you're at the mall. Also come after 7PM and every plate is $2. However, after 7, they rarely make the better rolls that are normally $5 or $6. You'll get a few of the better rolls and people will fight over them (not literally) read more
