Unfortunately, our experience did not match those expectations. During a trial day, a young autistic child became upset after a developmentally typical frustration in a new environment. Instead of observing the calm support, co-regulation, and individualized approach we expected from a program with this stated level of expertise, we experienced a response that felt escalating rather than supportive. There were also concerns with the emotional regulation of the leading staff member, and online records that reinforced concerns related to emotional regulation and safety. The biggest concern was the disconnect between the program's stated philosophy and what we observed in practice. A moment that could have been handled as an opportunity for connection, regulation, and teaching instead left us questioning whether the environment was truly equipped to support autistic children in the way it represents, or any child. Ultimately I did not feel comfortable trusting my daughter to Magnolia. I am grateful we had the opportunity to see this before the school year began, but it was disappointing to have to reconsider so close to the start of school after believing we had found the right fit. Every child deserves a program whose practices match its promises.

Myraneh is also such a sweet teacher and makes my little guy feel so loved. I love one day when I was leaving daycare and the assistant director Candace was telling me about how my little Nico and another girl in class have laughing wars and it melted my heart! Lastly, I wanted to mention that Autumn has been so personable and delightful. She is a very sweet director and runs a great program and you can tell based on how many kids attend this daycare! She runs a well-oiled machine and I highly suggest getting into this daycare, especially if you have the chance with a spot!

My daughters have been at Champions for 4 years and are now part of the EPIC Elite Cheer program…read more I asked my girls to describe the program, and one said that "The coaches make us work very hard, but they make it fun." The coaches are positive and focus on safety, and there is a sense of mutual respect between coaches and athletes. There are a lot of optional extra classes in tumbling, flexibility, jumps, and stunting; my girls would go to the gym every day if I let them. The community at EPIC Elite is great - there are fun, positive parents which makes team bonding events a pleasure, as opposed to a chore. Why 4 stars instead of 5? The new program started at the beginning of the summer, so I'll update when we're a little further into the year. As a new program, some of the processes and communication are still being ironed out, but the pros far outweigh the growing pains.

I took my kids to a Mad Science show and all three of us left disappointed. No science was…read morepresented and the show was boring. They gave every kid a chance to come up front, which is good, but it meant that the same cheap tricks were repeated several times. For example, we watched 16 different kids spin a tube in the air and make a WOO WOO WOO noise with it. They did not explain why the tube makes the noise. We sat, watching even more kids pull a string attached to a bucket to make a vaguely thunder like noise over and over and over again. Again, no explanation of sound waves or vibrations. I don't know why the presenter was in a lab coat. I don't know why the show was recommended for ages 8 and up only. By the time you're 8, you've already shaken a slinky around (another one of the 'scientific demonstrations') Some kids went up twice, while there were still others raising their hand for their turn to go up the first time. The presenter never asked for only those who haven't been up yet to raise their hand. Several families left immediately after their kid finished their turn on stage.

I could not praise Goddard enough, in particular this location by the BSW hospital more. Raul, the owner and Malorie have been so flexible and reasonable. We work odd hours and it has helped to have a daycare be understanding of that. They employ their teachers with high expectations and are completely transparent which is reassuring to parents leaving children in their care. We will miss them as our time at daycare is almost up!

Goddard Lakeway gets our vote for the best preschool/daycare in the area. I toured 2 other schools…read morethat were actually closer in distance, but I ultimately chose Goddard for our son and daughter because I felt that our core values and goals were aligned and therefore the best match. The owner Raul and director Malorie are wonderfully awesome and as accommodating as they could possibly be. I love seeing the walls and windows that are decorated with pictures that the children drew or themes that the children are learning about. All of the teachers are seriously wonderful and amazing. They communicate with parents via the Tadpole app with daily reports, announcements, and pictures. I have total peace in mind when I drop my kids off every weekday. I know that they both love their school and are very comfortable with all their teachers.
