Finding a New Year's Day dinner can be a struggle, but KiiN KiiN really saved the day! Since our usual Meridian spots were closed, my wife and I decided it was the perfect time to give this newcomer a try. The Experience We arrived right when they reopened for dinner. Pro tip: They take a little siesta between lunch and dinner service, so definitely check the clock before you head over! The space itself is super cozy (think 6-8 tables), and it was buzzing! It's clearly a local favorite for takeout and delivery, which meant a bit of a "driver party" happening near the door while we ate. It's a small venue, so things can get a little snug. The Food The kitchen was working overtime, and it paid off! Here's what hit the spot: * Drunken Noodles (Pork): The absolute MVP of the night. The flavors were bold, authentic, and totally hit the mark. * Garlic Stir Fry (Shrimp): This was a close second. The shrimp were huge and fresh, and that garlic sauce? Chef's kiss. The Verdict The staff were incredibly sweet and hustled so hard to keep up with the holiday rush. While our old-school favorites still hold the #1 spot in our hearts, KiiN KiiN is a solid addition to the Meridian Thai scene. We'll definitely be back though next time, we'll probably join the crowd and grab our order to-go!

Kiin (say keen) in Thai language means eat. Kiin Kiin is a welcoming phrase, roughly come and eat. One feels that welcome in this tiny place from the moment one steps inside. We enjoyed every moment of our lunch visit for gracious greeting and good service and every bite of the four dishes we ordered to share. Pride of ownership shines in every way. If you haven't tried it yet, now is the time to do that before it becomes better known when I imagine that like Nahm Thai and Burmese (arguably the best in the Treasure Valley) that started out slowly and now is always full, this will be the same here. HOURS NOTE: They are closed on Wednesdays. On other days, they open at 11a and serve lunch until 3p then close until 5p when they reopen for dinner. MENU & FOOD: There is a lunch menu and while I typically want to order from dinner menus even at lunch time given lunch menus don't always contain the dishes I want to eat (as example here that would have included Khao Soi that is not on the lunch line up), I didn't ask if I could order dinner menu dishes given they are relatively newly opened and still wayfinding and I didn't want to complicate matters. The menu is multipage and laminated, suggesting things will not change often, and there are items found in most Thai restaurants as well as Northern Thai specials not found everywhere. Using the lunch menu we tried Spicy Eggplant w/pork ($13), Pad Thai w/vegetables ($13), Garden Rolls ($11) and Kanom Jeeb, small steamed Thai dumplings ($11) for total bill BTT of $48.00. Prices are a few dollars higher on the dinner menu for the same items and I assume that means portions might be larger too but we found the lunch portions more than ample, even to share. There are items on the dinner menu not listed at lunch. This is a Thai dining experience for people who appreciate quality over quantity. Everything was expertly prepared and beautifully plated. The spice level on the eggplant which comes medium, was perfect and even the white rice was delicious. We look forward to more visits to eat our way through the menu. INTERIOR: When we walked in the door we could both smell and hear the sound of food hitting a hot wok or pan and that was part of the sense of welcome as well as the greeting by the nice woman who would be our server. Everything is sparkling clean and soft colors are on the walls. There was a nice mix of current pop music on the sound system set at a level that supported conversation and didn't compete with it. SEATING: There are five or six 2-top tables lined up along one wall, a bench at back and chairs in front, and a pair of 4 tops tucked in a corner by the window. Also 3 or 4 seats at a high counter for a total of maybe 24 in all. Part of the reason we found our lunch time visit enjoyable was that there were only six people inside and we had "elbow room" for seating. Also we appreciated that they left ample room behind the tables to be able to walk into and about the space. I realize that as it is discovered it will become very popular and I imagine seating will be harder to come by and we'll choose take out. LOCATION: Meridian's has many newer and poorly planned strip malls with tiny spaces and awkward parking lots. This is one of them. They are next door to the National Guard recruiter and a couple of doors down from a Mexican place that took over the old Biscuits & Hogs space. PARKING: There is a parking lot, but in this pick up trucks and SUV kind of community, the spaces seem pretty tightly spaced. ACCESSIBILITY: Level in from the narrow walkway and all on one floor. There is one 4 top that is useable by someone in a wheelchair, I tested this out myself, but I couldn't tell from looking at the 2 tops whether the cross bars on the bases would get in the way. There are two marked ADA parking spaces in the lot but for the lot size there should be three. One of them is van accessible but the access aisle seems perhaps too small for a ramp if you're using a van. (Meridian is a mess for ADA parking errors in lots even in these new strip malls and that is on the owner of the parking lot, not the restaurant owners.)

My friends and I were in the mood for some Thai food so I thought I'd give this newly open Thai restaurant a try. Definitely did not regret! We ordered Chicken Satay, Papaya Salad, Tom Kha Kai, Pad Thai, Basil Fried Rice, Duck Curry and Crying Tiger. The food and service is amazing, our server was all smiles, nice and very attentive. We would definitely come back and try other dishes

Cashew Nut Delight,Pineapple Fried Rice and Crispy Spring Roll! And yes Yummy as always, our new favorite place!

The food is beautifully presented with generous portions. We loved the Spring Rolls and the Tofu Bombs. Also we enjoyed the eggplant dish. The restaurant is on the small side and there are no booths with padded seats. But the food quality is very hard to beat!!!!!

My new favorite Thai spot! Warm, cozy vibe, super friendly staff, and the food was seriously 10/10. The pork dumplings were amazing (that dipping sauce though!), the duck noodle soup had a rich, comforting broth, and the Crying Tiger was perfectly tender with sticky rice and a flavorful jaew sauce. If you're nearby, definitely give it a try!

    Yellow Curry with chicken. Delicious!!!

A new restaurant that quickly became one of our favorite Thai places in the valley! Authentic foods, great menu selection, vegan options, clearly marked gluten-free options, value lunch menu, fair prices, appropriate portions, friendly and attentive service, cozy environment, and quick access to freeway. Will definitely return. Recommend the yellow chicken curry and pad Thai (both gluten-friendly also)!

    Sticky rice and mango dessert!

Best Thai food in Idaho so far. I got thr crispy duck and it was amazing. The food is fresh, the service is amazing and the vibe is chill. The location is small with limited seating but it's worth the wait.

Get ready to tantalize your taste buds!…read more I visited this place on an early Sunday evening around 5 p.m. It wasn't too crowded, but it was bustling with DoorDash orders. I was introduced to this spot by DoorDash, and I was eager to try the restaurant for the fresh-cooked food experience. The hostess greeted me right away and showed me where to sit. Since I had walked over 2 miles to get here, I wanted to be seated rather than at one of the bar tables. If you're a fan of Thai food, this might just be your favorite place in Boise! It's got a nice vibe, and I noticed that the tables and chairs are cleaned after each visit. Everything is very clean and classy, even the restroom. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, but not too flashy. Fresh Spring Rolls with Shrimp 5/5 Spring mix, cucumber, carrot, cilantro, mint, rice noodles, and avocado wrapped in rice, served with peanut sauce or spicy Thai seafood sauce (add Shrimp for $2 extra). These are like a delicious, fresh, hand-held salad wrapped in rice paper. They're not fried, but fresh my favorite way to enjoy them. They also have Crispy Rolls, but I prefer the fresh ones. These are especially great on a hot summer day! They come with two dipping sauces: a peanut one and a lemony butter sauce. I know I'm different, but I like the lemony butter sauce instead of the peanut sauce. Pad See Ew 5/5 Stir-fried flat rice noodles with egg, carrot, broccoli in sweet black soy sauce, with your choice of meat. I tried it with seafood once and with veggies and beef another time. Always delish! Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodle) 3/5 Stir-fried flat rice noodles with green bean, bell pepper, Thai herbs, chilies, and basil, with your choice of meat. I've had mine with chicken, but this one's my least favorite because I thought some of the pieces were a bit too dry. I'm not sure what went wrong, but I didn't eat a few because they were tough. Since it was my second time, I didn't want to complain then, but maybe I should have mentioned it. Mistakes happen to everyone, so sorry for not bringing this up sooner. Slice of Cucumber Salad 16 oz 5/5 Thinly sliced cucumbers, red onions, and carrots, usually dressed in a light, sweet, and sour vinaigrette. This is a favorite of mine. To me a unique recipe! Fried Wings 5/5 Nice crispy, tender, and nicely fried chicken. Deep fried marinated Thai-style bone-in chicken wings served with sweet chili and sour sauce. So tender and juicy, yummy! Coconut Shrimp 5/5 Deep fried coconut shrimp served with spicy mayo sauce. Freshly made Sangria 5/5 Cold and delicious. The Game Changers: I appreciate that you can review your order before paying. I like the digital system, and what's more important, they ask for feedback right away. I think that's pretty cool and admirable. They want to know upfront if they've done anything that made you have a bad experience. I also like that they're linked up with Toast for loyalty reward points. Basically, for every dollar you spend, you can get a reward. I really think this is a great feature that the restaurant has that I haven't seen anyone comment on, but to me, it's a great benefit for the customer. Don't worry if you don't have a Toast account; I believe you can get one at their checkout process by providing your phone number. I already had a Toast account, so I might be mistaken. Just ask at checkout, and they will explain to you. They sanitize the tables after each use. They have chopsticks. The owners are from Thailand, and they have a great kitchen staff. The kitchen team includes Chef Wan and Chef Pronyanee. Chef Wan and Chef Pronyanee come from the northern province of Thailand. Chef Pitsy (Owner) is also from the northern province of Thailand. The restrooms are super clean. So customers and staff can wash their hands and keep the place as germ free as possible. I have gone to the restaurant three times so far and I think it's the one of if not the best Thai restaurant in Boise! (I haven't been to them all) As Arnold Schwarzenegger, character in the Terminator movie would say," I'll be back."

We came in today for my Grandma's birthday. I know they would do a good job with my Grandma's food modifications. Kim took care of us today. She's the best! She got us all squared away at a table and we checked out the menu. Bangkok Thai serves some of the best fried tofu. I don't know how they do it but it's always crispy on the outside and soft on the middle, it's so good! No matter what you get your tofu in, in gonna be good! I got the lunch pad Thai with fried tofu. Grandma got fried tofu with mixed vegetables. I asked for her veggies to be cooked longer so she can chew them easier. We were served rice soup for the 4 of us. Grandma got her lunch first since she's vegan and couldn't have the soup. I thought was was really kind of them to do that! Grandma didn't have to be left out. She ate a good portion of her veggies and rice noodles. She was a happy clam. My pad Thai was perfection! It was saucy, it had a good amount of bean sprouts and tofu. And the heat level was nice! My favorite is adding the fresh squeezed lime juice into the noodles. It's so good! I ate half and plan on eating the other half later. Bangkok Thai is one of the best Thai joints in town. It's locally owned by some of the best people. The staff is always nice and they push our killer food. I love eating here and if you're looking for some good Thai food, this is your joint to hit up. I know I'll be back soon.

They operated out of one of the 17 ghost kitchens in what was the former CRAVE! Delivery kitchens in maybe 2024. (Honestly, the original owner of this original ghost complex added the naming emphasis but the original line up and the one that followed was a terrible disaster.) Now the owner of the ghost complex is apparently going to sell it. My understanding from the Wei people is they are closing now, they plan to travel (including China) for a while. Hopefully they'll come back and be able to open a bricks and mortar place. PS - Mai Thai that was also operating a take out operative from this same ghost complex after the kitchen fire and closure of their restaurant in downtown Boise announced earlier this month that they were leaving this ghost kitchen complex on July 27 and reopening in a Boise ghost complex.
