We discovered Thai Bistro shortly after moving to Boise. I must admit, we got a bit addicted for awhile. You can order dishes as spicy as you like. I'm not much for extra heat, but I like a bit here and there. I always order their Summer rolls (shrimp) because the sauces are so dang tasty! This is one of the addictive things for me. my husband usually orders the drunken noodles, which were better than I would have guessed they would be. I snuck some off his plate and was surprised at the wonderful combined flavors. I usually get the Tom Kha Gai soup. It's my go-to for all Asian restaurants, so I compare places based on how good that soup is, and this one has a pretty good base, but I do wish there were more veggies in it. All in all, yummy, though! You're also not going to break the bank here, and you will likely have leftovers, and feel very satisfied when you leave. You can't argue with that, can you? read more

We've been here before and the food and service have always been good. So we came in a little after 6:00 and got seated right away, then ... apparently we became invisible. The place wasn't that busy; the entire middle of the dining room was empty. Servers flitted to other tables but not to ours. We were sitting there with water and menus. Fifteen, twenty minutes at least. We finally decided to leave. My boyfriend stopped on the way out and told a man at the bar why we were leaving and his flippant response was "my apologies." I have been eating Thai food for over 50 years, and consider myself a Thai cuisine critic. While we have found a few good Thai restaurants in the Boise area, the Thai Bistro is exceptional. Inside out: parking is easy, in a shopping complex at the end. The inside is modern decor but it gets loud fast as there doesn't seem to be much noise dampening from the design. If you have sensory issue with sound- bring loops or ear protection if it's busy. Service: Standard and nice! Food: Delicious! I did the pineapple curry as spicy as it could go and it wasn't too spicy for me, but I'm a monster. The portions are generous and the food tasted fresh! My family got sweet and sour something and said it was a little spicy for them but they are very low spice tolerance. Very enjoyable, green curry chicken, three stars for dinner at Thai Bistro. Tuesday night dinner had a small crowd. Place is clean and bright at the end of mall by the DQ. Green curry was creamy and packed full of flavor. More rice than many other places serve. Price was about $16 and well worth it! Will come again for sure!! read more

I was one of about a dozen women who had lunch here recently, and I think every person was happy with her meal. I had cashew chicken and requested the chicken not be battered as listed in the menu. We went in about 45 minutes before closing thinking it could sour the experience. Couldn't be further from the truth. The team welcomed us right away and sat us in a booth of our choosing. Gave us ample time to order and didn't rush us at all. The food was out quickly and was piping hot, delicious, and precisely as described on the menu. They checked on us and got us our bill when we were ready. Great food. Great service. I look forward to going back again. Would highly recommend to anyone. read more

Just opened in the SE Boise location that has been graveyard for at least two, maybe three, other Thai restaurants in the eight years I've lived here, most recently Thai Basil. (The Meridian location of that brand is still open.) While touting itself as new Boise business, curious that their "About Us" on website speaks to a place where "people from all over San Francisco can meet..." Ooops. See below: "Thai Bistro was founded by a team of like-minded foodies; a group of friends who have always liked to eat, drink, and create amazing food together. The menu is relatively free of surprises and has good price points (about $10 to $20'ish) for the usual rundown of Thai options for American audiences in starters, soup, salads, curries, rice and noodle dishes. (Exceptions being Nahm Thai & Burmese (Park Blvd just off downtown offering extraordinary food and these mom n pop owners are also from SF), Mai Thai (downtown), Boise Thai Noodle House (west Boise off Chinden).) A nice surprise here is Kao Soi on the house specials menu, a Northern Thai (Burmese really) noodle dish that is not always found on menus. A good start. Some processes improvement wood to chop but that is so for any new eatery. There is an audience for them in this part of town. Hopefully they can make this location that has been unlucky for others lucky for them. ACCESSIBILITY: The parking lot has the same ADA non compliance problems as the predecessors but that is the strip mall owner's failure and not the restaurant's. Surprising little find in Boise! This spot is so tastefully decorated inside and feels nice and peaceful. The employees there were so kind and welcoming. I got their pad Thai with chicken lunch special, which also came with a salad. The pad Thai portion was so flavorful and delicious! And the portion was so big that I was able to take about half home to have for dinner. I'm definitely taking my mom here at some point as she is a huge fan of Thai food! read more

Came in here for lunch with a colleague. The decor and service were acceptable. The place was clean, so that was good. I'm still determining what kind of Thai food this is, but it's more on the Chinese side per how the Cashew nut Chicken was prepared. The lunch special was affordable, and they give you a "free salad." The cashew nut chicken was super chewy, and it was fried. It was soaking in a thick brown sauce with a couple of cashews. It was different from what a typical Thai dish would taste or look like. I will have to give it another try, but there are so many other great Thai places around. Excited to have another good Thai place in town since the Thai Basil that was here before was a bit of a let down at times. Friendly staff and were super apologetic about the wait, because this place was hoppin' last night both inside and with to go orders. I hope they stay, and I give them a better review because I hadn't even heard about this place.
