This place is in my top three places to eat when I'm at work in downtown Fresno. I've eaten in, I've taken to go, We've had it catered..... the best one of course is fresh because the spicy crispy chicken is crispier but the flavor is never ever ever a miss. My favorite part is ordering ahead of time and it being ready when I arrive. I wish I had pics to share but I never made it that far when this food is in front of me. I literally inhale it. lol Anywho their service is nothing but the best. If you dine in you'll have people check on you. If you take it to go, they'll make sure you have everything you need. In my opinion, the food here is mediocre but the service has been insurfferable. I wish the employees took the slightest pride in working a job and being of service. Went in today, after a long time, to get a chicken bowl, tipped (regret), and the lady treated everyone like they were not welcome in the restaurant. I've never seen this place with a line and I'm in the plaza every day, so this tracks. Also, please recognize that you are anchored by a gym and you're serving the gym-going community...like every other establishment in the plaza seems to. I walked in once with a dollar in quarters and asked if I could get a water cup to mix my pre-workout. They offered to sell me a water bottle, I said "No thank you a cup would be much easier to mix with; here I have quarters to pay." "We can't sell you that." If you're expecting the palm location to be anything like the downtown location, DONT. I order from here occasionally because its close to family and their food is wildly inconsistent. The downtown spicy chicken has hardly any flavor and every single time, they forget my spicy brown sauce , despite charging an extra $1.25 for it. Also, the prices at the Palm location are higher with massively smaller portions. Its just not worth it anymore. I didnt have the same negative experience with customer service that others did, but despite them always being practically empty, it should always be well. read more

The only thing I ordered today was tempura veggies. I am now feeling very sick 3 hours later. The yams were cut very thick and were raw on the inside but I didn't know yams were unsafe to eat raw until google told me. They can make you severely I'll as well so I hope just the stomach pain and vomiting are the end of it. The table was sticky today. I have liked the food in the past but the consistency isn't there and now that I have gotten sick I don't think I will be back. First and foremost, their food is good. (Refer to receipt posts as picture for items ordered.) I enjoyed the Ginger Beef with their delicious and steamed vegetables. My coworkers loved their Downtown Spice Crispy Chicken, Teriyaki Beef tri-tip, teriyaki chicken, and crispy chicken platters. Yelper, Carolina B., was correct in stating their prices are the same as us ordering a full bento box at a sit down restaurant, but worth the awesome selections of the bento. For prices, refer to my receipt. Customer service is negligible. They've never had a person behind the register who wanted to be there for you, the customer. I'm not too fond of dropping into a joint to discover that they'd love to have their downtime back by speeding through serving you. Good news is it's pretty peaceful with lots of space to be away from that disappointment. Overall a 3.4 out of 5 stars. read more

Nice restaurant and the music volume was perfect. Relaxing. I tried it after lifting for a couple hours to get my protein up: Spicy chicken with brown rice and veggies. It was the perfect size and was tasty. The chicken has a really light batter, a nice change. There's tons of Covid stuff, non-working or broken sanitizer stands with notes on them that should really be removed out of the dining room... Keep it clean/tidy guys. The restaurant itself was clean, and I liked all of the large windows. Seems to be a lot of legal people eating when I was there, lawyers. The staff was really not very friendly or welcoming. They're missing an opportunity here, not to overdo it, but to at least be authentic and present.... As experienced, I would not leave them any type of tip... too robotic process oriented. We discovered this place because we were given a gift card. We are very fortunate to be able to try this place out. The food is delicious! We ordered the beef teriyaki plate as well as the shrimp scampi. The plate options allow you to choose your protein followed by brown or white rice, and choice of veggies or salad. You can do all rice or all veggies. We chose half and half. The sake was crisp and refreshing. Service was excellent. They recommend we save more by ordering the bottle of Sake ($16-not bad at all). A great lunchtime spot during the work week! The staff is always fast, efficient, & attentive. I only wait 5 to 10 minutes for my food. I will say their tables are almost always super sticky, so I use hand sanitizer and napkins to clean my table before eating. A bit on the pricier side, but they do sell sake! I had a lunch date here today. =) This place is safe and clean. Practiced too! The worker are very nice. I asked if the salmon and tuna bowl was popular and she said yes. It had already been ordered many times today. I ordered that with brown rice and he ordered the crispy chicken. Also two drinks! Love their high tech fountain drink dispenser. You can select diet and pick what flavors you would like. I chose diet cherry. He chose a lemonade flavor. We waited a little while. They got busy. Our food was delivered a little while later. Not impressed...Customer service was friendly but not friendly enough to check on us after waiting over 30min for our to go order. Their spicy crispy chicken wasn't worth the wait nor lived up to the hype I've been hearing folks rave about. Went there for the first time the other day and was very impressed! The place is clean and feels very modern with big windows to make it bright and welcoming. We were able to go up and order right away and the food was brought to us fairly quickly. The teriyaki chicken portion with rice was generous and I liked how it was cooked. It seemed to be pretty high quality and I loved the teriyaki sauce for it (none of that super thin, runny sauce!). I had enough that I could get 2 meals out of it, and it also heated up well later. I had the downtown spicy chicken. My chicken was dry and tough, as if it was either over cooked or old. (Chicken thighs should never be dry). I took it back and asked if the meat should be so dry, hard and stringy. She said no it shouldn't. She asked the cook to remake it. I hear the cook saying very loudly. "I know what I'm doing. I've been here along time" then he stated, "if they don't like it, they can get the fuck out! " The young lady was very nice and said she called the manager and she will have him remake it. The food at Kikku Kitchen is delicious. The menu is simple to understand which makes ordering not an overwhelming experience. You choose a protein and then what you want to enjoy with that protein. From their farm options, I recommend the Spicy Crispy Chicken. I love the crispy outer layer covering the juicy chicken. The sauce is absolutely amazing. From their ocean option, I recommend the salmon poke although their combo tuna & salmon poke is great too if you are a fan of both fish. read more

Had the Teriyaki Tofu the other night and thought it was decent. The flavor of the tofu was good, however the portions are much smaller compared to other restaurants. At the very least, the amount of brown rice and vegetables should be increased. read more

So happy I was finally able to try Kikku kitchen, good for a quick lunch! I ordered the spicy crispy chicken but kids portion because I'm usually not too hungry around lunch and it was the perfect mid day pick me up. I had read in some reviews that people were commonly bringing that the spicy crispy chicken was too dry and lacked flavor, after trying for myself I definitely see where they're coming from. There's very little to no "spice" and even flavor to the chicken but the sauce it comes with somewhat makes up for that. Service was quick I called in my order and it was ready for pick up 10 min later. As of now due to Covid they are only using their outdoor patio for seating and doing takeout and delivery. Overall I enjoyed my experience trying kikku's and I will most likely be back sometime. read more

I was already familiar with this place from their downtown location and kinda already had my expectations set. Our first visit here went pretty bad. The young blond at the register took our order (2 spicy chicken plates) and told us to wait "a couple minutes". After 30-35 mins passes by, I go to ask another worker where our food was at. Turns out, the blond girl didn't even send our order up to be cooked despite making eye contact with us throughout the time we were waiting (you figure common sense would prevail and make her wonder why we were still waiting there for a while- there were only 1-2 other parties there at the time). Granted, one of the other workers apologized and gave us a couple "free entree" cards to use on a future visit. By this time, we weren't even pleased with it. We both had a long day at work and waiting hella long for dinner so we already knew a future visit won't ever happen. Now for the food, I should have known from my previous visit at their downtown location...if you want Spicy crispy chicken, go to Teriyaki Don. If you can't go to Teriyaki Don, go to Kenjis. The "spicy" chicken here is not even spicy, it's laughable. The "brown sauce" is ok and worth a try but that is about it. Our veggies were also strangely cold. I'm glad a local place has expanded but this visit just gave me a bad impression of what I can expect. read more

I love Kikku! I used to go to the downtown location all the time when I worked nearby, so imagine how excited I was to hear that they opened up a second location?! Their food is all good but my favorite dish is the spicy crispy chicken with brown sauce. My friends and I jokingly call it crack chicken because it's so delicious! The helpings are generous (I usually have enough for a second meal or snack) and the owners and staff are very friendly. Silvia is seriously the best! She is super nice and makes it a point to get to know you, as well as always check in and see how you/the meal are doing. I don't hate the place, but.. I thought I'd it again today after my lackluster impression of the first time I went. Again, I got their fan favorite spicy crispy chicken. I'll start out with positives. The chicken is perfectly fried, albeit it's a light batter. But the texture is great. Their house sauce is very good as well. Unfortunately, that's where it stops for me. Cons: There is ZERO seasoning on the chicken batter. Literally. The ONLY flavor to this is the sauce. Run out of sauce and you're either screwed or have to buy another one. But, honestly, the sauce isn't a sauce that compliments the flavor chicken, it's the only flavor on the plate. The chicken is pretty dry actually, both times I went. It's not like a super moist piece of white me, it's more along the lines of a semi-dry piece that takes a bit to chew. Also, for the price, you either get a portion of salad or a portion of rice. So, for $14, you have bland rice, bland chicken, and some good sauce. Reheating is also out the door. Part of what makes this chicken "good" is the texture of the fried chicken, which obviously gets soggy when you reheat it. Tl;dr: It's priced wayyy too much for the quality of taste of the food. This is about a $7-$8 meal in general. But for $14 is ridiculously overpriced for what's on the plate. They won't lower the price so if I could change anything, I would season the batter, next - cut the chicken, and THEN deep fry it, so the batter is around each chicken piece, rather than fry it and then cut it so each side of each piece is missing the batter. read more

First time here decided to come during the lunch hour with a party of 5. This is located where Koja Kitchen used to be. The same exact layout as the previous restaurant, tables, sauces and fountain drink. They have a beautiful mural of koi fishes on wall. There was no line so we got our orders taken right away and the workers were nice. I wish they had photos somewhere on their menus to give me a better idea of what I'm getting. I ordered the Spicy Crispy Chicken with half vegetables. Got our food right way. I thought it was a pretty portion good size. I was kind of disappointed about several things first off the "Spicy Crispy Chicken" was not spicy at all, not even a hint of spice. The vegetables were cold, it would have been better if the vegetables were warm. They charge an extra 75 cents for extra sauce which may be a bit much since they complimentary give so little. Hooray! Kikku at the north end of town! My co-workers and I decided to give them a try for lunch today. I had my favorite from their downtown location, the spicy crispy chicken with a salad and white rice. It was spectacular! I could have just eaten the spicy sauce by the spoonful. A co-worker added a bit of siracha to it and loved the "kick"! She also was happy there's a brown rice option at this location. Four of us had the spicy chicken and everyone enjoyed it. One girl had shrimp and veggie tempura. She also had the miso soup and said everything was tasty. We tried to call in our orders, but that is not something they currently do there.
