Awesome, just awesome. Food is incredible. The owner had literally caught my fish that morning. As fresh as possible unless you filet and grill on your own boat. Staff super friendly and down to earth; drinks were available immediately. Only complaint would be cash only payment but, who cares it's so cheap I could buy a meal with loose change. I would probably go back again and try something else just because of the limited places to eat here but the staff seemed very unfriendly like others have said before. Food here is always wonderful - fresh, flavorful seafood. I love the hot sauce on the table. Just wish they would offer more grilled items. Staff can get stressed at times, but get things done. This year, the waits were longer than ever, even on an Wednesday evening. I do like the fact that when they are busy, they have started taking the orders outside. Ok, I really hate to be one of the few negative comments but I was disappointed in this place. We waited 45 minutes and then learned they were closing in 20 minutes after we sat down. They closed at 8:00 and we felt rushed. There was one disgruntled waitress who was rude and short. She ask how we were doing and didn't wait for a response. She walked away to go drink a beer. The grilled food was much better than the fried. The greased seemed old. The key lime pie was tangy. I ended up getting it to go because they waitress was sweeping all around us. I usually find good in everybody but one bad seed made our dining experience negative. This is unfortunate because the outside wait time was pleasant. We expected a better time inside. read more

Had an excellent lunch here! The fish tacos were a favorite at the table. I had the fried grouper basket. I don't eat much fried food, but this just sounded good. It was excellent! Yelp, you led us to this place and you were right. Killer Seafood is your typical beach restaurant which happens to be excellent. We ordered the seafood tacos and the shrimp basket which other reviewers correctly critiqued. They were delicious. A must mention is that they make their own hush puppies which are to die for. The coleslaw is also very good. I'm not a fan of a lot of vinegar in my coleslaw and this place didn't fail me. Killer Seafood only accepts cash as payment. Very friendly and attentive staff. The only thing we would change is the music and maybe put some paper towels on the table, but that might be just us. Fun place! read more

We called them asking if we could make a to go order for 11 plates and they said they wouldn't be able to take the order over the phone but they could at the restaurant. We drove there and waited in a line to order our food. We were greeted by unfriendly workers who then explained we wouldn't be able to eat there because they couldn't accomadate 11 plates. Would have had no problem with this if they would have told us this over the phone. Save your time and go to shripwrecks, the food there is amazing. They also only accept cash witch reminds me of the 1970's, just like their tiny dining area. read more

Loved this place and found it on Yelp! The tacos and their special sauce were outstanding and the atmosphere fun. The owners were friendly and the service was great. Exceptional key lime pie for dessert and it was amazing, you have to try it! Only disappointment was they ran out the special early. I would of ate more! We had a farewell luncheon here for one of our airmen and our group was large for this rather small place. No problems! The service was great, and everyone was served quickly. A lesson learned though, we were crowded because there were 15 in our group. Next time we need to keep the group smaller read more

Whoever reviewed this 3 months ago not telling the truth. They were lying actually. Killer wasn't even open and serving three months ago. As of last week ( November 2019) Killer was still not quite open. They will be serving out if a brand new food huge truck/trailer very soon . FYI Killer Seafood Building was destroyed during Hurricane Micheal. (The owner served food for months on end to volunteers, constructions workers and residents from a tent called happy tummies. ) A greasy spoon is absolutely NOT what Killer Seafood would be described as. This restaurant had multiple awards and write ups before the hurricane devastated the town and will continue to do the same in the future, I'm sure. Quite sure. read more

My favorite seafood place in the area. I eat here at least once a week. Laid back beach spot with great food and fair prices. They do not accept credit cards, so bring some cash. Calamari is terrific, and so are the fish tacos. read more

Very good but they only take cash I ordered the fried fish tacos and they were wonderful. The hush puppies were good too but a little over fried. Others in my party ordered the shrimp po boys which were great and had plenty of shrimp. My mom ordered a crab cake po boy and she was disappointed as it was very overfried like the hush puppies. I visited Killer Seafood for lunch on a Sunday. I had the grilled cobra and it was well seasoned. I tried some of their signature sauce and found it to be delicious. A-MA-ZING! We hadn't driven out to Mexico Beach in years and we're lucky we did tonight because we experienced Killer Seafood and it was delicious. We ordered the Original Killer Fish Tacos (I had slaw on top) and they were the freshest and best tasting fish tacos we've ever had...and we lived in Hawaii! We scored front row seats at the counter and watched as the magic happened. We started with the calamari and banana peppers and ended the night with the key lime pie. It was a memorable birthday eve. I have been contemplating how to write this all evening/next morning, but I cannot seem to find the words... Let me first preface this by saying when we initially arrived, we did not pay attention to how close it was to closing (completely our fault), I even mentioned to our INCREDIBLE server that we would be happy to just pay for our beverages and leave, yet she said she would love to serve us, but had to get our order within the next 5 minutes. TOTALLY fine! She was outside serving with another young man and they were amazing. Our server had to leave and left us with the young man who played peek-a-boo with our daughter from behind a flower pot for a few minutes between taking care of other guest and cleaning as quickly as possible. Our food was incredible and before our server initially left she spent 10 minutes explaining the history of Killer Seafood and how they have limited hours due to actual fishing and prepping hours. My wife told me she wanted to come here for dinner every night until we leave (5 total dinners), seriously THAT good. UNFORTUNATELY- something happened with a different server that will make it where I we can never come back... After the young man went inside to clean and we were finishing up, my daughter was still playing beside our table next to the flower pot (still playing a little peek-a-boo game). She was not bending, picking, or messing with any flowers at all. We do not allow our kids to act like jerks in public. An older female employee walked out and screamed at the top of her lungs "DON'T PICK MY FLOWERS, KID!!!!" (something of that nature) less than 2 inches from my daughter's ear. My wife, myself, and daughter just stood in disbelief for a moment until my daughter burst into tears and hid behind my wife. The waitress further went on to discuss with some other patrons loudly how some kids recently destroyed her flowers and basically talked rudely about my daughter. I then approached her and said, "Excuse me ma'am, she was just playing peek-a-boo, if you don't want her to touch something you could just ask her, not scream in her ear. You have really upset her". The lady immediately apologized to my daughter, gave her a hug, and a small key lime pie (which was very delicious as well). She continued to apologize additionally another 3-4 times throughout our checkout and departure. I am not looking for anything, but I seriously want you all to know that due to service exclusively we will not come back here. Everything that was wonderful can not make up for another human literally treating my daughter this way. I am saddened that another person felt so comfortable screaming at the top of her lungs to a small child. While I appreciate her apologizing profusely.. I just don't think we could comfortably bringing our family back here. read more

This little place packs a huge punch when it comes to their food! We went the first night that we stayed in Mexico Beach and had to find ourselves back one more time! The first night, I got the crab cake basket with hush puppies and fries. The crab cake had so much flavor and was seasoned just right. Their hush puppies are unlike any that I have tried before (and I try a lot). Their fries have just the right crisp and are not overbearing with salt. The second night, I got the Killer Scallops over rice and that has to be one of the single most delicious seafood dishes I have ever had. It's got a kick of spices, but just the right amount. They weren't stingy on the scallops either! A wonderful little restaurant that everyone who visits Mexico Beach should find themselves dining at. read more

Our party of four arrived around 7:30 on a Saturday night and added our names to the list for a 30 minute wait, grabbed a beer and hung out out front. Totally loved the music that was playing! We were given a menu to peruse ahead of time and based off the reviews here, two of us did the fish tacos. Another friend had the shrimp pasta-and we'd all highly recommend them!. The hot sauce was fantastic. Ordered the jalapeño poppers and I agree they were pretty cheesy, but still good. Food was hot, waitstaff was so friendly and checked on us a lot. We come here every year and it's always such a great experience. Even though the restaurant is always packed, they treat you well, and the food is absolutely amazing! Our last visit, we got there early (it's right near the time zone change so we really have no clue what time it ever is) and they let us go ahead and order before they opened. They also let us sit down first when they opened even though there was well over 25 people waiting outside since we were there so early. Even if we weren't early, it still would have been worth the wait outside! Killer Seafood is a forever favorite and we plan on staying closer to it in the future so we don't have to drive! read more

Had very high hopes based on reviews. We came late on a Saturday night and had a little bit of a wait but not bad. They sit you at a table and then you have to go and order and pay at the counter. We ordered a variety of items. The scallops were tiny and it was more of a soup with some scallops. Was not what we were expecting. Had the lobster app special, again tiny itty bitty pieces of lobster. Service was good and the place is clean. Would not go back. It is cash only. I think you can get deep fried seafood anywhere.
