Stopped in one night for a casual dinner and beers while watching college football. I ordered the killer shrimp & scallops (comes in a large soup bowl) with pasta, and it came with a hot loaf of french bread for dipping. It's herbey/tomatoey/cocktail saucey, with just a slight kick. The shrimp was incredible, but the scallops became a bit overcooked in the super hot broth. Also had the pecan-sweet potato pie, which was dry and crumbley .... NOT recommended. No beers available on draught. Don't forget to bring cash! It's right next store to a mini market that has an ATM machine. read more

The wait staff isn't overly friendly here, which is kind of a bummer as we are a small town and are always disappointed when the "small town feel" is missing. The food is okay. I love Killer Seafood!! Get there early because the wait can be long but it is well worth it!! I have been there twice in two years and it's been great both time. Our party of 5 each time loved their meals(we all ordered something different). They do have chicken for those who do not eat seafood. Atmosphere is great. Not much more to say than awesome! We had the 2 and 4 combo fried seafood platters, everything was mmmmmm. They have an amazingly light batter that is a perfect amount of crispy with out the greasy. Top it off with a few land shark largers and call it a perfect mothers days meal! read more

With a name like "Killer Seafood" I guess maybe my expectations were a little too high. Although the food was good, it was far from "killer". I had the fish tacos topped with coke slaw; my husband had the fried shrimp, and my kids split the kids fish fingers. My husband's shrimp were a bit on the rubbery side. My son who loves seafood wouldn't finish one fish finger. My tacos were by far the favorite of the table. If we go back, we will all order those. They were really good. Horrible experience from the time we walked in the door until the time we walked out. Be advised the restaurant is cash only. Horrible staff. Staff were very short and acted as if it was an issue that we were there. We ordered 2 plates of food which both came out cold, hard and rubbery. During food preperation no gloves were used nor were hands washed. A guy was observed to be standing over crabs shelling them, without gloves in additiin to having a long hair/beard without a hair net and while talking over the food. Fries were old and overly greasy with a nasty taste. It was made clear to the cashier and the wait staff that we were unsatisfied with our orders immediately and all they had to say was oh ok, sorry. Ended up paying $40 for food that wasn't eaten. There was 1 bite taken out of each plate and 1 bite out of 1 fry off of each plate. They were very pushy/ rushing around from the get go for no reason. We visited 2 hrs prior to closing and spent less than an hour there. Horrible experience. Very rasict. Stay far, far, far AWAY. Sanitation issues were out of this world. Never ever, ever again will I eat there again. If my life depending on eating there, I'd choose death. A new meaning to killer seafood. read more

I do not like fishy tasting fish but, I went with the Grouper tacos/ slaw instead of lettuce per a recommendation. Killer Seafood is a small place, limited seating inside and outside. We visited Killer's on a Saturday at about 18:00 local time and got right in. Bar atmosphere, you can watch all the food and drinks being prepared. Kids high chairs were available for our 18 month old. You order your food at the bar and receive a number to bring back to the table. My wife ordered the Grouper Po-Boy while I ordered the Soft Shell crab Po-Boy. Food came out fairly quick and correct. My wife couldn't stop raving about the Grouper sandwich. I was not a fan of the soft shell crab, but this was my first experience with it, so it is no fault of the venue at all. My wife commented and said the Soft Shell Crab was Really good and she would order it on the next visit. The sides, Hushpuppies, were amazing. This venue has been featured in a few coastal magazines and I can see why. Prices are normal for a coastal seafood venue. Good food, good service, and Good people.... We would go back. read more

We purchased homes on the Cape 03/2009, 1st experience at Kliller's was 04/2009. Recommended by our realtor as where the locals eat. Upfront, yes they accept cash only, yes limited seating capacity (approx. 45) and yes they are busy. We average eating at Killer 20-30 times a year (they close 6-7 weeks in the winter months) or we would be there more often. Our family has tasted the whole menu, grandkids state they have the best fried shrimp ever, daughter loves their shrimp poor boy. the wife loves their grilled chicken sandwich basket, crab cakes are excellent as is the seafood bowl. . The rest of us can not order anything except those AWESOME FISH TACOS. The hush puppies are some of the best I have ever ate, the cole slaw doesn't take a back seat to anything on the menu. Their private label simmering and hot sauce is to die for. Kim, Michael and Kevin are very friendly and professional, the remainder of the employees follow their example. The food costs can be expensive or inexpensive, it depends on your point of few. My wife and I can dine with a couple of drinks for around $30.00, not bad at all. If you want very good fresh seafood, with great service at a reasonable costs, you NEED TO DINE AT KILLERS. read more

We drove in to Mexico Beach looking for good seafood and we found it! Killer Seafood has a laid back feel to it. We ordered fish tacos, a shrimp basket, and for the little one a cheeseburger. I can honestly say that the fish tacos were the best we ever had. The shrimp was fresh and good too. Even the hush puppies were really good. Normally hush puppies are really "heavy". These were light and had some flavor- jalapeno pepper, I think. It had more flavor than kick, if that makes sense. The fish tacos looked like regular fish tacos, but the fish were marinated in something amazing, and the sauce was awesome too. Great food. Laid back vibe- shorts and t-shirt kinda place. Anyone who thinks the fish tacos at Killer are worthy of serious consideration is probably just from Florida, the state with the worst tex-mex and baja food in the country. These grouper tacos are just some plain-jane fried grouper with blah toppings and really cheap cheddar shreds that come close to being as distasteful as American cheese. The tortilla is NOT fresh. Once you've been to a classy joint that presses out their tortilla dough on the stone right in front of you, you'll know the difference. The jalapeno poppers were a disaster, overstuffed with that same gross orange cheese, and over-fried. The hush puppies were likewise over-fried, and devoid of almost anything other than low quality cornmeal. The grouper sandwich was served on limp bread, and needed loads of tartar and hot sauce to give it any flavor. The fries were the only decent item we ordered, but even these were just bulk packaged fries, nothing special. The food was of a low enough quality that I was worried it could make me sick (fortunately it didn't). There are some surprisingly great restaurants on the coast in this area, this is definitely not one of them. read more

Staying in Port St. Joe for a couple days the family and I decided to try this place after reading some reviews (and craving some seafood). This place does not disappoint,my son had the 3 combo meal with the fish,shrimp,and scallops and it was absolutely delicious. The scallops are small but very tasty and tasted really fresh. My wife wanted the grouper but wasn't available so had the fresh catch of the day that I never heard of and it was excellent. We also all shared the killer bowl, yummy. And I was torn between the fish tacos and the shrimp so decided to go with the shrimp po boy oh my goodness,oh my goodness. It was superb,I don't even like tartar sauce but loved there's. And couldn't leave without trying the key-lime pie and yes that is excellent as well. Poor way to treat customers attempting to call in phone orders! The woman answering the phone on 6/17/16 was extremely unwelcoming and put the phone down for some ten minutes while I waited. Then picked it up and and acted like it was a problem to speak to me and take my order! Nasty attitude and it certainly shows! If they are too busy at least be polite! Then I pay for my order which was more $ than the online menu. No apologies, just "oh, that's an old menu. We never updated it!" Get home to find that part of the order was missing! Yeah, they need customer service training! The older woman at the cash register needed personality help. She can't be bothered or nice. We showed up at 6PM and were lucky to get a table right away. The place was already getting full. The eating area is very small and with the piped in music, it gets pretty loud. Our table had the grilled shrimp basket, shrimp po boy, and two orders of Killer Fish Tacos. The shrimp dinners were pretty good (although it's pretty hard to mess those up). The Fish Tacos were lousy. Very Bland. I did not like the Killer Sauce at all, so had to pour shrimp cocktail sauce on my tacos to give them some taste. Our waitress was miffed when I told her that one of my tacos was covered in cheese when I had requested no cheese. My recommendation - go to Toucan's instead; only 100 yards away with nicer interior, better scenery, better food and they take plastic. We won't be back. read more

On our first visit to Mexico beach we used yelp to help with recommendations. This is definitely a place for locals. The menu is very basic for seafood restaurants. You have to order at the counter and then find your seat. They will bring your food to you. Good food and good prices. If you are looking for beach atmosphere, this is not the place for you. They do not take credit cards so a little of ore planning may be necessary. Entrees are any where from 12.00 to 17.00. The staff is friendly and attentive. This restaurant has many great reviews but we didn't see why. Calamari and hush puppies were average. Smoked tuna dip and key lime pie were the best items ordered. The Killer bowl had a good Cajun flavor but the scallops were over cooked. The grouper entree ordered was also over cooked. Several items were spicy like the fish tacos and coleslaw for some palates. Really great food. We were trying to find a seafood place on our drive from St. George Island to PCB and happened upon this restaurant. So glad we did! We were there 30 min before closing so it was a gamble if we would get a seat, instead we decided to order to go. It is cash only, but there is an IGA next door if you need $. Prices were really reasonable. My husband said the fried shrimp ($12) was the best he ever had- lightly breaded and sweet. I had the grilled shrimp (which is marinated in teriyaki sauce- yum!) and scallops ($16) (were supposed to be grilled, came out fried, still very yummy). The fries are nothing exciting, could use some spices, the hush puppies were a little disappointing, like the oil temperature was off when they were fried, but the inside flavor was great so I knew it had great potential. The sauces were unique- loved the tartar sauce especially. My daughter got the quesadilla, and it had amazing flavor having been grilled on the grill. We were excited to visit this restaurant after reading some reviews. We noticed right off the bat that a couple of the male employees seemed a bit rude and acted as if it was a privilege to be in their establishment rather than being very friendly. Luckily, there was a young waitress that was more courteous than the men there. Food was just ok. The hush puppies were a little on the burnt side as were the fried scallops. The grilled fish and shrimp were a little better. Slaw was pretty good. Definitely a dive. Needs better airflow in the restaurant. Just an ok experience. Will probably not go back. read more
