This place is extremely unprofessional and dishonest. I strongly recommend avoiding it. From the moment I arrived, she seemed confused and insisted that I was a "returning customer," even though it was clearly my first visit. They even falsely accused me of having made a previous appointment and being a no-show, which is completely untrue. Then, they asked to see my Groupon and, without my consent, redeemed it before any service was even provided. After that, they told me I had to pay an additional $320. This was shocking and unacceptable. I already had a bad feeling from the beginning, and unfortunately, that instinct was right. The situation felt very shady and uncomfortable. I decided not to proceed with the service and left. However, they refused to issue a refund. Even worse, when I contacted Groupon, the business falsely claimed that I had previously been a no-show to justify denying my refund. This is completely unacceptable. They treated me unfairly without even knowing who I am, and their claims about a past no-show have nothing to do with this appointment. Do NOT go to this place. Found this gem on Groupon, and was blown away by Kim's talent and professionalism! She has over 20 years of experience, and it shows. She is such a sweetheart and her genuine love for her craft and clients shows. Kim absolutely transformed my hair with a Brazilian blowout and haircut. I was SHOCKED at how she completely glo'd up my damaged, brittle, frizzy, curly 2c hair. She cut off about two inches of damaged hair, and revealed a gorgeous color that had been hiding underneath! Kim even explained in detail how to care for my hair and properly blow-dry my hair without damage. Shoutout to this hair wizard! For those who are confused about parking: there is a lot next door, and you can get up to two hours free through redeeming your ticket at the salon. I had an appointment originally at 8am and was asked to change to 9am which was fine. I got there 10 mins early to be respectful of their time and the receptionist asked what the name was and I said my name & she said rudely "No, that's YOUR name. What's your stylists name." Immediately I was thrown off, but I stayed positive and told her the stylists name. I sat down waiting patiently, and once it was 9:10 I got up to ask the receptionist when my stylist will be ready and before I could even get a word out she looked away from the person she was laughing with, put her hand up and told me that she'll be ready soon. At this point I was ready to leave, but I needed my hair done for an event. She came up to me and brought me back without even acknowledging the fact that she was 15 minutes late by the time she came to me. The few words that she did say to me were to tell me how dead she thought my ends were on my hair and to try to sell me the products that she was using. I don't know if she was thrown off by the fact that I used a Groupon, but the experience overall was really unpleasant. TLDR: Highly recommended! Great hair cut and color with great conversations. I went to another highly rated salon in Irvine and I came away pretty disappointed. So when I went over to Kim - I had low expectations and was a bit low on life in general about various things including a lackluster haircut that was only a month old. Kim had her work cut out for her because I didn't provide much direction on what I wanted. I didn't really have an opinion on what color or cut. I was a sad sack of potatoes. But she asked a lot of questions and got to the bottom of at least what I wanted to walk out of the salon with (I wanted to feel like a 90's shampoo commercial - with that bounce in your step). And she got to work. It was day and night when I walked out. She dyed my hair this deep dark brown which after roughly a week as washed out to be a rich chestnut color. And while I was on the fence about getting bangs - she cut them to be long enough to be pulled back when my hair is in a high ponytail (which is how I wear it at work) but short enough still to frame my face when my hair is down. Everyone has commented that I look 10 years younger. Some people even commented that I looked like I did in high school. I can't wait to see her again in 6-8 weeks for a touch up and to see what she does! read more
