    Hot Stone Pot Bibimbap

Kim's Tofu is a popular spot for my family. It's a casual korean spot booth seats, which makes for a cozy dining experience. I have tried their seafood pancake (massive), kimchi soon tofu, and hot stone pot bibimbap (pictured) and everything is really delicious!! The waiters are accommodating and provide a cash discount too! Highly recommend if you are in the Richmond Hill area!

We tried this placed and it is yummy, got the kids mild dumpling soup and they both loved it. Definitely worth visiting

Been here twice now, once during lunch and another time for dinner. The first time I came, the service was quite slow and had to wait for a bit (but I'm comparing this to other sundubu places I've been to before). I always get the kimchi soft tofu extra spicy. The first time it was decent, the flavour was there. The second time was better (food came out quicker too despite being a larger group). I would say it comes down to the kimchi, I think the kimchi was better and gave a more in depth flavour. We also ordered the seafood pancake and it was really good. My aunt enjoyed it, it was crispy outside and had lots of fillings. The restaurant is a bit out of the way for me and I wouldn't really drive all the way here to eat but would definitely come here if I'm around the area.

Once we were seated in a booth we saw that the menu was on the wall. For two people we ordered fried dumplings and combination soon tofu stew. The stew included (beef, shrimp, mussel) and hot stone rice. When we were asked the spice level of the soon tofu we said mild and the lady told us that even older Koreans have medium so we should be fine with that as well. The fried dumplings were very crispy and didn't require much dipping in the sauce. For the soon tofu it comes with an egg that you crack and put in right away. The lady put it in for us. I love how the rice gets crispy in the hot stone bowl and you get 'rice banana'. I was really hoping that the stew wouldn't be too spicy for us. I'm pretty a spice wimp and it turns out we had nothing to worry about. There's a 5% discount when paying with cash and by the counter there's a shelf on the side with a few things for sale (socks and slippers).

5 stars for bulgogi soup! For anyone who likes sweet things, I would highly recommend this. It is flavourful and good to the last drop. Also comes with quite a bit of beef and glass noodles so it's really filling! I really can't get enough. If you don't prefer sweet foods, then their soon tofu is also really good. They have quite a bit of variety to their soon tofu soups depending on what you like. All of them has good flavour and really soft tofu. My one complaint is that while the seafood does add flavour to the soup base, the seafood itself does not taste fresh. I personally would not order it and prefer the dumpling or kimchi soon tofus. Oddly though, I enjoy the seafood pancake and do not have any problems with the seafood meat even though I'm pretty sure it should be the same. They start you off with 4 side dishes which are pretty standard for Korean restaurants: kimchi, radishes, sweet beans, and bean sprouts. When dine in was still open, they would refill the dishes if you ask. The soups also come with rice in a hot pot, and they will scoop it out for you since it is really hot. The servers will then add some liquid to the pot so you can eat the rice that was stuck on the pot as well. You can ask them to not put in the water so you can eat the crispy rice at the bottom just like Chinese claypot rice! Tastes great added with the soup. Definitely one of my favourite places for Korean soup around this area!

This is my favorite tofu place! it used to be a chain tofu restaurant, that's how I knew about this place, but my husband and I believe they just want to keep doing it without using their names, so it becomes Kim's tofu. I don't know how many times I have been here, their seafood pancake and soon tofu are must order items. They serve Korean corn tea (my favorite). Their panchans also taste really good, my husband love their sweet beans the most.

Their tofu is one of the softest and silkiest I have had. The soup flavour is also really good. I ordered their mild and could probably have went with medium. I like spicy but can't handle too spicy. I ordered the dumpling soon tofu soup, I wished they had more vegetables in the soup though. It was just broth, tofu, few small pieces of beef and two dumplings. The kimchi fried rice was good and had lots of ingredients in it. It wasn't the best we have had. The restaurant is really big and spacious. Service could have been a bit better, I wanted a tea refill but wasn't able to find an available waitress throughout our whole meal.

We were craving for Korean food and heard great reviews about this place. Since we were in the area, we decided to this place. When you first enter, it looks spacious because of the large mirrors. However, it is a small place. It's nicely lit, and because it's in an alley, it's quiet. The service was good - the girl was attentive and kept checking in on us to make sure everything was OK. Food is great - ordered kimchi soon tofu, pork bone soup, and fried dumplings. The soon tofu was ordered at regular spice. For someone who has a high tolerance for spice, you will need to up the spice level. For the pork bone soup, the least amount of spice they can do is mild spice. There's no potatoes, but they give you a lot of bone, and it has quite a lot of meat on them. The fried dumplings are filled with beef, and it's flavorful enough that we did not need the dipping sauce. Overall, I would recommend this place and would come back when another Korean craving hits (which is quite often).

    Chris C.

There is a few reasons for the 5 star review. 1) price - just over $12 for a pork bone soup and 5% off when pay cash 2) rice is served in hot stone pot and its the purple rice which I like 3) side dish had the little beans which is one of my favourite and seldom seen at other Korean restaurants 4) pork bone soup was well done. Not overly salty so I was able to finish the entire bowl of soup 5) service was on point and the restaurant was cozy but spacious with lots of seats

Soul food at one of the OG Korean spots uptown. Their soup is deep, rich and full of flavor and the mussels in the mixed tofu stew aren't the tiny ones either. The only critique is that their banchan is kinda lacking in variety and flavor but overall solid soup! Would recommend if in the Richmond Hill/Thornhill area and craving this

We have a lot of Korean food to choose from but Kim's Tofu has definitely been a fav the past year. I don't think you can go wrong with anything from their menu. Pork over rice, kimchi soon tofu... everything is delicious! I plan to try the hot stone bibimbap some time as well. Yum!! Great value and great tasting - give them a try today! :)

Summer? Perfect time for some hot tofu soup. Visited on a Friday night around 7:30 pm, and it was almost full. Ordered the kimchi tofu soup ( kimchi, beef, pork) with mild and it came promptly along with the side dishes. Food wise its average, as the toppings are somewhat small. The tofu is good but wish that was more the highlight as opposed to the rice and soup. But value wise this place is great, at 8.85! Have returned multiple times already and each time has been positive. Good option in the rhill area!

Situated in a little "hallway area" of this large strip mall just south of 16 on Bayview with a Chinese supermarket. FREE PARKING! Unlikely the chaos you have at their other location at Yonge and Finch. We ordered the Combination Soon Tofu (one spicy-it was spicy and one mild-it was mild...funny comment but in many places this means nothing. The fried dumpling was really good and not overly oily. I enjoyed the stir fried pork but I would have really wanted a hot stone bibimbap; However it only came in beef which I (and many people don't eat). They should consider allowing customers, at the very least substitute the beef with pork. Service was polite and relatively quick. The servers were running around since they were very busy but they were always polite. So glad we have a good Korean option in Richmond Hill.

We both decided to get the soup, sandwich and a bottle of water ( $11 ) and boy did we make a good choice. Normally you would except a small soup bowl with a sandwich however this soup was in a HUGE (to me anyways lol) bowl with a full sized sandwich. My soup of choice was the chicken noodle with a ham & cheese croissant. I feel like chicken noodle is always a good staple to determine if it is worth coming back. I must say, it definitely was worth it. The chicken noodle soup was soo filling. Had some hearty vegetables and they definitely did not skip out on the chicken. I had to push myself to finish my sandwich as I was already too full! Thank you for amazing service and I am definitely coming back

So not only were we stressing about our first born, but personally I was also very stressed for my wife as I wanted to make sure she had a good recovery (as per traditional Cantonese ways). I can make some soups myself, but I just couldnt imagine being able to find the time. When we found Let's Soup we were elated as this was exactly what we were looking for in the GTA - A traditional Asian (Chinese) herbal soup place! Lets Soup is located at the corner of Yonge and 16th avenue on the South East corner at the base of the condo building. This is a very small store that is strictly for take out. When we first came to order it took about 15 minutes to prepare. We ended up ordering via messages on their Instagram account and was never disappointed with their service. Honestly I literally can not think of any other place that exists in the GTA (at least when we were looking) that offered this kind of service - Outside of hiring a "lai ma" to come and cook and cook for us. This was the next best thing and it was an absolute god send. I dont deny though, everyones taste is different, raised differently and of course different experiences with food and cooking. Unfortunately, I dont think there is any restaurant out there that can truely replace a parents cooking thats made with love - But Lets Soup is an extremely close second. My wife and I purchased some soup to try them out, and was happy enough that we decided to get the full "post partum recovery" set (pre paid for a set number of soups at a slight discount) So we had the chance to try many of their soups. Serving size was more then enough for 2 adults or one very hungy wife that just gave birth :) This was absolutely perfect for us, and we still went back even after we had the package to pick up more soups. I would absolutely not hesitate to recommend this place, as honestly what other places can compare? This is almost a one of a kind service in the GTA as far as I am aware On top of all this, I had nothing but excellent service every time I went. They were always friendly and happy, offered lots of advice for having a first child and were just over all awesome. I hope they can continue to improve and grow. Keep up the good work!

I've been ordering a couple of times already and the soups are quite consistent. Such a cute mom n pop shop - they even cut their carrots into flowers! They got the Chinese mom approval from my mom if that helps. You also get fortune cookies! Side note: order ahead because you don't want to or even have an opportunity to park in this plaza while you wait and might have to go all the way around the first time since there's limited space (idk who planned this area but we have beef now).

Eats) currently has three locations in Ontario. I tend to go to the one on Dixie in Mississauga, as it's closest to my workplace. I decided to expand my horizons last Saturday by visiting this one in Newmarket while I was in the area running a few errands. This eatery is by highway 404, so it's convenient to get here. It's in the same plaza as Booster Juice. This eatery is in a row of four businesses, between Starbucks and Osmow's. I pulled into the parking lot on a Soggy Saturday. I pulled out my Z! Eats app and placed my order. I had a $2-off offer to use. I got the following items: - Wild mushroom barley soup - Pulled pork mac and cheese I paid through the app. I had to add a credit card. All was great. I got an estimated time of five minutes for my order to be ready. I got distracted seeing a bakery in the same plaza. I visited it while waiting for my order to be ready. I probably spent fifteen minutes at this bakery. Oops! I drove back to Z! Eats (it's a vast plaza) and got the same parking spot. I walked into the eatery. I was the only person here. I got a friendly man who happened to be the owner. I complimented his hours. This eatery is open till 7 pm on Saturdays. The Dixie location is open till 5 pm, but I have been there well before closing and it was already closed. It was a lovely chat. I wasn't expecting him to give me a coupon for a BOGO entree option the next time that I am here or at the Cambridge location. So nice! He asked me whether I wanted butter with my baguette. I said yes. He had my order ready and handed it over to me. He wished me a safe drive, as there was a freezing rain warning. I wished him the same thing when he hit the road in an hour. I took the backroads and then feasted at home. I am absolutely longing to have the wild mushroom barley soup again. It had so many sliced mushrooms, carrots, onions, barley, and more. It was hearty and delicious. I got a bowl. I find the cup to be too small. I haven't tried whatever the larger size is. I may need to get it next time. This soup was fabulous. It's also vegan. The pulled pork mac and cheese was excellent. I was pleasantly surprised to get shells. They were perfect to scoop up more of the cheesy sauce. The shells were cooked perfectly. I loved it. The pulled pork was generous. I liked that the barbeque sauce was drizzled over the pulled pork only. Sometimes, the sauce is overly sweet that it overpowers everything. The sauce was smoky and tangy. It was perfect without dominating the mac and cheese. I tend to have the baguette the next day for breakfast. I like making eggs, slicing the baguette in half, toasting it in a pan, and then putting scrambled eggs on top of each slice. The baguette is excellent and I always look forward to getting it with my soup. You can also get crackers instead of the baguette. If you don't like either, you can also say no thanks. It was my first time getting mac and cheese at Z! Eats. So good! I'll be back for more. This location had tables and chairs if you'd like to dine in. It was clean and cheerful. I'm glad that I dropped by this eatery. I'll be back for more. It's the closest location to my home. (115)
