Fish Fry Friday has delicious hand battered cod and a zesty citrus slaw
    Joyce S.

It's nice that Sun Villages opens their gates so nonresidents can enjoy such a pleasant venue where one can sit on a misted patio overlooking a swimming pool complete with a waterfall and water geysers! Inside there is a small bar and there is also a separate room where they have scheduled entertainment. Our server was pleasant but the service was slow and we had to wait quite a while for 2 beers (glad they had some draft offerings rather than just bottles) despite the fact that the bar was just a few steps away. It was nice to see the chef making the rounds and chatting with the customers. The Friday Fish Fry was very tasty and a fair price even though they don't offer AYCE. The slaw had an atypically tasty citrus dressing and if you want a little more, the chef said just ask and you won't be charged. I asked and was glad I did since it was delicious. The 3 cod pieces are battered on site and weren't greasy. The fries were average but good and because the tartar sauce tasted so fresh and good, I used it on them rather than the ketchup. Some problems upon checking out because of some glitches with the Toast dining app, so hope those can be worked out and staff trained to deal with it better. I'm looking forward to trying some other dishes that they showed in sequence on a screen as they looked very tempting.

Amazing place for a family gathering. Have no idea why there are such poor reviews. Their hamburgers are awesome. Beer is cold.

Instrumental hip hop playing in the background, moody lighting, amazing cocktails, incredible food, and a front row seat to the kitchen. It somehow feels upscale without feeling stuffy. The oysters, prawns, bone marrow, cocktails, and beignets - everything we tried was so good, but the atmosphere is what really made it. It feels like you've been let in on a secret. Such a cool experience and absolutely somewhere we will be going back to. 10/10 for food, cocktails, music and one of the best vibes we've found.

The gentleman spinning vinyl for the evening had an amazing playlist. Each song seemed better than the one before. Overall, it was a fun atmosphere, great music, and a really enjoyable night out!

It did take a little while for Patrick to come over and take our food order, which initially made us feel a little uneasy and somewhat neglected, especially since the restaurant wasn't very busy. But once we got our order in, things completely turned around! The fried calamari appetizer was a 10/10 seriously, so good! For dinner, we ordered the shaved beef sandwich with cheese on a baguette, with rosemary fries on the side, and it was SO delicious. After about 25 minutes (we were told 20), I asked for an update. I stood at the front desk for a full minute while staff counted money--no greeting, eye contact, or acknowledgment at all. It was super awkward. When our table was ready, she just pointed to it from across the room, walked us over, dropped the menus, and left without saying a single word. Definitely not the kind of service you expect from someone at the front greeting customers. Thankfully, our server, Maya, was much more pleasant. She greeted us, got our order right, and the food arrived in about 15 minutes. The portions were huge, hot, fresh, and delicious. It was a bit pricey--about $60 after tip for two meals and an iced tea--but that's pretty typical for a casino. Their happy hour menu looks great, and we'd return to try the large selection of appetizers for a lighter meal. We took leftovers home, but next time we'd probably order less.

The bartender handed us menus and walked away. 5 minute later he asked if we were ready to order. I asked if we could order drinks first. He took hubs beer order and I ordered a tall Tito's soda. I've never seen Tito poured from the gun before, but the soda was flat. He poured another. The weakest drink I've ever had and honestly, I'm not sure it was Tito's. It didn't taste right. The bartender also leaned over the bar for the gun, filled someone's water and walked to the other end of the bar. He also yelled at a customer that he found the lid to her togo cup and tossed it on the bar. She had to get up from her table to get it. So unprofessional. Maybe he was new? Lunch was so freaking good. Hubs had Thai Noodles. He's not a fan of too much spice. I warned him. He ended up picking out the Thai chilies and said it was incredible, once he got his taste buds back. I had the most unexpected and phenomenal sandwich. Blackberry jam, barbecued brisket and cheese on the thickets delicious sourdough bread. It's on the menu as grilled cheese. I will order it every time. The onion rings were giant and so crispy! Hopefully we'll have better service the next time. First impressions are very important. This one was bad.

Our server checked in with us multiple times and was super considerate, giving us privacy when he noticed we were having a deep discussion. Our food was fantastic. I've been here before with my husband and other friends but this was their first time. They've traveled to Ireland and England before so they were eager to try the Bangers and Mash to compare them. They had no complaints and almost finished it all off. They were thrilled to have leftovers though! Hubby ordered the Fish N Chips and the fish was super moist and tender, the batter light and crispy without being too crispy. He's usually not too into French fries, but he polished off the chips pretty quickly. I had the Irish Breakfast and it was amazing. Two fried eggs but with a warm, silky, runny yolk that I mopped up with the thick slab of brown bread was a great start. The black and white puddings were a wonderful surprise as the black pudding wasn't too mineral-tasting like some blood sausages can be to me. I actually wanted more! This was my second time here and if I were basing my review on just the first experience, I would…read moregive the establishment 4 stars, but this visit there was a disappointment in a dish and it was handled very poorly by the manager. I will start by saying it's a shame because this place has real potential! The crafted cocktails are the highlight as they are beautiful, original, and tasty. The food is good for the most part, but some items are overpriced. An example is the bisque cheesecake at $15 as it was on the small side, round about the size of a flan. It was presented nicely w berries, but not worth $15. I am from CA and not even there! The main issue I had was with the ricotta, pesto and tomato jam jar. This was more like pesto, with Ricotta. The Ricotta being listed first by any culinary standard should be the main feature. But the tapered dish had a small amount of ricotta at the bottom, about a fourth, then half the jar full of pesto, then top fourth of tomatoes.(see picture). I couldn't even dig down to get the ricotta and the huge amount of pesto was overpowering. I politely brought this to the waitresses attention by kindly saying I wanted to give some feedback and explained the expectation and that there was very little ricotta and hard to get to it. She handed me a spoon and a plate and I tried in front of her to get to it and said that's not working. She did say she would give the feedback to "them", but did not offer to replace it or fix it. Perhaps offering to bring more ricotta? For the rest of the evening she did not address the situation and I only ate two small bites and sent the entire dish back. At the end of the meal when I saw this was added to my bill, which I should add was $84 plus tip, over $100, w ricotta being $18 for just me not including the other two at the table, I asked if anything could be done about the ricotta dish that I did not eat. She said she would ask, but came back and said her manager said no because this was just my preference!! I felt sorry for the waitress. If the wait staff is not empowered to resolve these issues on their own then the manager should have come to the table! I said okay, paid the bill and left. They lost a repeat customer!! **Contrary to what management stated below, no accommodation was offered or made besides handing me a spoon and a plate. Also, the promise to discuss w mgmt was not followed up on until I received the bill and reminded the waitress which felt like avoidance, 1.5 hours after I sent the dish back. Perhaps there is a communication breakdown or misunderstanding, but my issue was the excessive amount of pesto (a sauce) and small amount of ricotta. Management prefers to argue and defend (without the facts) vs find a solution and humbly accept feedback. I am a manager myself in the luxury market...and customer feedback is at the heart of growth.
