This place is bigger than I had envisioned. Wow what a dynamic food/combination restaurant. I'm not a "foodie", whatever that means. I finally had some extra $ to sample their menu. Their Bulgogi Tacos with a squeeze of lime, are simply... Heaven :-) I was a little skeptical at first, because there were some negative reviews and I had never experienced an Asian Mexican fusion; at least with food. Gratefully, I was not disappointed. The service was delightfully welcoming and professional, and oh man! was the food amazing. My favorites are the Jalapeno Bombs, Mushroom Bombs, Kimchi Quesadilla, Chimichanga's, Kimchi Beef Bowl, and my most favorite of course :-) the Bulgogi Tacos. This is where I always go for Taco Tuesdays! Definitely a go to place to grab dinner! This is the first Mexican/Korean food fusion I've ever been to, so my opinion is just depending on my eating habits. Environment / Service / Parking: The environment is pretty spacious and they have their own small parking lot on the side. The outside doesn't look too appealing, but the clean-ness is not bad at all on the inside. Service is great and the cashier that always helps me is very friendly! However, I don't think they have more than 1 or 2 chefs in the back because food tend to come out fairly slow. The wait is a bit long, but the food is definitely worth the wait! Price: The price is not too bad when you go there for Taco Tuesdays, but the price gets a bit more expensive when its just a regular day. Price for anything other than tacos are okay. Appetizers are a bit expensive for the amount and portion. Food: The chimichanga is DELICIOUS! Deep fried to a golden color and perfect crunchiness! You can ask for more sauce or eliminate anything that you don't like in it. Also, their mushroom poppers are amazing. I'd always heard people talk about how good the Korean Mexican fusion was and I just moved about two blocks away from this place so I thought I'd try it. I was a bit skeptical because i thought it was overhyped but the hype is well deserved. First time I came I got the short rib tacos. They were really good. A mixture of sweet meat and really good salsa. A little spicy but I loved it that way. The chimichanga though was an amazing blend of flavors that I just can't describe. I'm hispanic so i've had plenty of chimichangas in my life and this one blows them out of the water. They even cut it to look like oversized sushi and they top it with the spicy sushi sauce. If you like Korean-Mexican fusion food or are just curious about it, this place does it as well as any place we have tried. The food tasted great and the prices were fair. I had the four small taco combo. I had Kaliningrad, bulgogi, spicy chicken and spicy pork. Those plus a drink were $8.90. And I always appreciate a restaurant that has horchata as a refillable fountain drink. If I had one of these in orange county I would be a frequent customer. Please open one in Irvine! This is definitely out of the box for a place like Riverside but it went from being an outrageously popular place to a one with little to no customers around the clock. I have been here a few times and I have never had a bad experience here when it comes to the food but the last time I came here a cockroach crawled onto the table where my boyfriend and I were eating. That was the first time that's ever happen to me and hopefully the last time. The food itself is decently priced considering how unique it is with the mexican and korean combination but would I come here after my last visit? Probably not. read more

No need for fancy decor or clean tables, the food was so good I had to over look a few flaws. I ordered the: Jalapeno Bombs: Jalapeno poppers stuffed with imitation crab and drizzled with a spicy ever so yummy sauce. 4/5 Korean Short Rib Taco: The name says it all. 5/5 Spicy Pork Taco: Imagine Al Pastor on steroids, thats what this is. 5/5 The only downside was that I had to wipe off my own table and I noticed other denizens do the same. Normally that is worth negative 2 in my rating, buuuuuuutt, they had a very large group and I noticed everyone help the kitchen to get the orders out. Now thats team work. The food was amazing. Korean and Mexican fusion is a great combination and Red Hot Kitchen definitely delivers! I usually come here on Taco Tuesday's, when all tacos are just 99¢. I really like the carne asada and chicken tacos. Service is pretty good, but it can get really busy sometimes. Red Hot Kitchen is really interesting and delicious place to eat at if you are a fan of Asian and Hispanic food. They weren't kidding when they said Asian and Mexican FUSION. I ordered the 10 dollar all you can eat, and I made the most of it. It's fixed as a traditional Korean AYCE style menu. You have the choice to order multiple tacos. From Korean BBQ tacos to Spicy Chicken. Things that you should try: Korean BBQ tacos Jalapeno Poppers Fried mushrooms Fish Tacos (hey those aren't cheap anywhere, might as well get all you can) Super fries Like all AYCE, you should go into this place with a strategy to maximize your stomach capacity. Their tacos are double layered with tortillas but they are good size. I really love the fish tacos and fries. They glaze the fries with their spicy mayo and some cheese. One very disappointing thing is that they were cutting their AYCE down to Tuesdays and Saturdays after 4 PM because some pussy-stomached people waste food by dumping it in the trash can (or even better yet, flushing it down the toilet). The customer service is great. Servers are usually coming by to see how you are doing (or to check if you hiding some food to flush). They ask you what you liked best and what not. Don't pass this place up. Stop in, scan the menu, then order a couple spicey pork taco's for starters. Order a mexican pizza for the table, then explore. I really really enjoy their spicey pork chimichanga. Very filling, especially if you took my advice and ordered the pre meal delicacies. You know what else is good, is their pastrami sandwich. I know, how fusion is that....but let me tell you, you won't be disappointed. I'd eat there more often if it were a little closer to where I live, but a 15 mile trek once a week is no problem. The staff is very friendly, always with a smile. They surprised my granddaughter with a shake one time, and when I bought a bunch of chimichangas on Christmas eve, they package everything separately and offered up suggestions on how to present the fare to garner the best guest satisfaction. I know a lot of people will hate me for saying this but I think Kogi's is overrated and I like Red Hot Kitchen a lot better. I feel the food is good and the price more reasonable. Food: I mostly just stick to the tacos and mushroom poppers. Its good stuff. I had a burrito once and i didn't like eating all that white rice in the burrito. Service: Great. The staff are friendly and more than happy to answer any questions about the menu. Ambiance: The place looks like it used to be a diner or something. Been here a handful of times and each time has been a delight. I found this place trying to look for something to satisfy my Mogo's food truck (wooo, norcal!) craving and I honestly prefer red hot kitchen's burritos. They are always consistently good (although lately they are much spicier; but I can't handle spice that well so it might just be me). I recommend the beef or short rib burritos. Jalapeño bombs and sweet potato fries are amazing. The kimchi fried rice is great too. I've also had the ayce tacos which is definitely a steal. In terms of service, it's obviously better when it's less crowded. For the most part however, my food always comes in a timely manner. I also really like that they are willing to customize orders. They ran out of hamburger patties once and offered to make my friend's deep fried cheeseburger with beef. All in all, I know I'll be here a lot for the next 3 years. read more

Easy parking, the staff was so accommodating and helpful! I had chosen the kimchi fried rice and u can choose ur level of heat! The gentleman let me try the jalepeno and habanero! And when my meal came he still gave me an extra side of the habanero in case I needed more spice! First of all I usually don't eat kimchi, so I'm very glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and ate here.. the fried was delicious and it was topped with a fried egg and with the spice level of the dish the egg was life changing on top! Being a regular eater-outer in Riverside I am always happy to see something new pop up. Red Hot Kitchen is an interesting new place to grub. We ordered at lunchtime over the phone and I picked up. Easy pickup as they have adequate parking, this part of town seems to be on the upswing so don't be afraid. They had a small crowd dining for lunch and a nice outdoor shaded area. Kinda Retro-hip feeling, I know weird for that area but good. We had a variety of tacos but they all tasted similar with the kalbi and bul-go-gi being my favorites. Portions excellent Interesting flavors Sweet potato fries yum Friendly staff Good for eating in or to go. Came here for Taco Tuesday and I was pleasantly surprised. Korean food and Mexican food alone are both delicious so it should be no surprise that Korean and Mexican fusion taste equally as good if not better. I ordered 2 chicken tacos, 2 beef tacos, and 1 short rib taco. My favorite was probably the beef, followed by the short rib, I didn't care for the chicken much so if I go back I probably won't reorder any chicken tacos. Overall I had a great experience, they weren't very crowded, probably only about 8 other people there besides myself, but chances are I'll come back next time I'm in Riverside and try something different from the menu. First of all, the prices are a little high considering the area. The food is just so-so. I got a bulgogi burrito, and it was quite large. The contents were mainly beef, rice, with a little bit of cilantro, peppers, and tomatoes. Oh yeah, I forgot, there was a TON of sauce. The rice soaked up all of this bulgogi marinade/sauce, and the burrito was a soggy mess of sweet with the occasional burst of freshness from the few "Mexican" ingredients that were in there. I also got the kimchi quesadilla, which is basically kimchi jeon (a pancake-like side dish in Korean cuisine) folded over with cheese and sauce melted in the middle. The kimchi jeon was too thick originally, so it wasn't cooked all the way through (someone else mentioned a "melt in your mouth" kind of sensation; it shouldn't melt in your mouth, or be runny for that matter). Once the pancake was folded over, it was ridiculous how huge it was, and the cheese was lost to the undercooked texture coupled with a little too much sauce. All in all, the meal was just ok, at best. They need to tweak their menu to reflect the best flavors of both Korean and Mexican foods, and they need to lower their prices to accommodate the impoverished student community that will serve as their primary customer base. I don't think this place can last if students will have to choose between paying tuition and getting a kalbi burrito. read more

I got the suggestion to try out this place from the facebook page of Things To Do in the Inland Empire, and was very excited to try this place out, 1) because I am a big fan of Kogi Tacos from the original truck and also Chego in LA, and 2) there aren't many places here in Riverside that serve this kind of fusion cuisine. RESTAURANT APPEARANCE: The restaurant was unkempt - there were about 4 or 5 tables I could see that were empty, but the trash was still on the tables, so we had no where to sit. The table at the register was completely unorganized, with their All You Can Eat Taco deal flyers strewn all over the table, which was distracting. The waitress that helped us at the register looked like she was bored and possibly could have cleaned up the tables.. FOOD: We ordered: Short Rib Taco Spicy Pork Taco Galbi Burrito Sweet potato fries Very unimpressive. The Galbi burrito had a lot of fatty pieces in it, and lacked in korean flavor profiles. My bf said it just tasted like they put regular bbq sauce in it and called it a day. The short rib taco and spicy pork taco pretty much just had meat, lettuce and tortilla. The sweet potato fries we had were soggy! In comparison to what I have tried before at previous places like the Alibi Room in LA, Chego in LA, and the Kogi Truck, they cannot match up. What impresses me so much about the idea of asian mexican fusion comes from the sauces they use to amplify the taste of the meats, and I felt that Red Hot Kitchen lacked in that aspect. I was really hoping for this place to be my new spot to go to for this particular craving, but it didn't hit the spot for me. According to the owner's wife, the new menu has been in effect for the past 2 weeks, which includes Cajun Shrimp by the pound w/rice (Boiling Crab style--peel as you eat). The food and service has always been consistently good here. I especially enjoy the soft shell crab taco, kimchi fried rice with spicy pork, the bi-bim-go burrito (has fried egg inside), kalbi or bulgogi tacos, and more recently their jalapeno bombs. Of course, just like any other establishment, the food always tastes better eaten at the restaurant. I have gotten takeout before and most of the fried items become wilted. I have not tried the all you can eat tacos yet, but I've watched others and it has the same concept as most all you can eat sushi restaurants where you order in rounds. For $7.95, if you're hungry, then it's a steal. There are rules posted with fines for wasting food, sharing with non-paying people, not eating the tortilla, and throwing food away in the trash cans AND toilet. This probably is due to the immaturity of people who have committed these acts in the past. The only complaint I have is that in the evenings, due to the college crowd and others going for the all you can eat tacos, there is no parking. And it is not in a good area where you want to park your car on the streets and walk around. When I drive by on the way home from work and see the crowd, I just keep driving. They have a cash only taco window for after hours now as well. Also, my parents do enjoy their food and there have been times when they drove to grab some takeout and had to wait for an hour because the staff could not keep up with the all you can eat crowd.
